"Hey, Angel?"

"Mmm?"

"I'll bet you a bar of Remus' chocolate that Lily and James are having a great time right now."

Bell grinned. "Sorry, but I can't accept that."

Sirius quirked an eyebrow at her. "Why?"

"Because I think they're probably snogging in a broom closet and therefore, as you said, having a great time."

They both laughed. Bell nibbled on a chocolate chip cookie while Sirius wiped ice cream off the top of his mouth. Her gaze flicked to his lips as he did so and she, not for the first nor the last time, wondered if she should just up and kiss him. As with every other time, she did not, simply refocused on the crispy cookie at hand and the cheerful house elves busying about the kitchens around them. She had many nice memories of after-curfew snack trips like these with Sirius over the years. They were a sweet bonding time, where they could just eat and talk and it was just the two of them.

"Hey, Angel?"

"Mmm?"

"Thanks for the beanie."

Bell grinned. Sirius was, in fact, wearing the 'Hot Stuff' beanie she'd bought for him a month ago.

"No problem, Hot Stuff."

Sirius slung his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer to him. "Getting a little cold down here, isn't it, Angel?"

"Sure is." Bell smiled, half-to herself. His arm fell from around her shoulders and slipped around her waist instead. A light blush came to her cheeks. "But I've got you to keep me warm."

Sirius grinned. "Baby, it's cold outside."

Bell groaned. "No, no, no. Christmas songs in October are unacceptable."

"But baby, it's cold outside."

"Siiiiriiiuuuuus."

"Baby, it's coooold outsiiiiiiide."

"Sirius Orion Black, if you do not shut up this instant, I swear to Merlin I'll-"

He wiggled his eyebrows at her. "You'll what? Kiss me?"

Bell's breath caught in her throat. Yes. She sniffed in mock aloofness and looked away from him, tilting her chin up in the air. "Maybe."

She could see Sirius' grin from the corner of her eye and he once more pulled her closer. Her right leg and his left were touching. "Maybe?"

"Mayyybe."

"That's not a no."

"True."

"But it's not a yes, either."

"Also true."

Sirius gave a deep sigh and flopped back on the table behind them. "You're such a tease, Angel."

Bell couldn't help but laugh. "Me? A tease?" Sirius' own voice chimed in with laughter of his own and so Bell went on. "And coming from the renowned flirt of Hogwarts himself! I never-"

Sirius muttered something to himself and clapped a hand over Bell's mouth, but they were both laughing, and it was all in good fun. "Oh, shush, you," he kidded and sat up again. His bowl of ice cream was now empty and nothing remained of Bell's cookie but crumbs. He hopped up off the table they'd been sitting on and bowed dramatically to her. "Shall we head back?"
