__________________Anava and I sat on the opposite seats of one of the best coffee shops in the city. Ingesting copious amounts of caffeine till we could feel every cell of our body activate.
I looked out the window for a second to see many people walking by or entering the coffee shop. The ones who entered were mostly the ones that had work even on a Saturday, they almost barged in demanding coffee and rushed out of the shop with the coffee as if they woke up late and almost forgot about their job. Sucks.
But there was another reason why I was looking out the window, at the pedestrians and drivers. Apparently, and I'm sure just to vex me, Jay had decided to sit not far away from our table with his friend, Noah in the same coffee shop.
I could feel him giving me that smirk as I uncomfortably shifted in my seat and eyed the window every other second. Windows are so cool. Wow. I should look at them more often.
But whenever our gazes met, his face would turn stone-cold. I was no less, I would put on my best bitch face too. Then the staring competition would start, and I am not the one to back out a good competition. So that went on for a few minutes, until I got tired and suddenly found the windows very interesting.
After the kiss, this was the first time I was seeing him. I wouldn't even have seen him if he hadn't come to the same coffee shop as us. Which brings me to the point: He wanted to talk to me. Because no way in hell would he choose the same coffee shop to come to as I am in.
Things were greatly weird after the kiss, to the point that you could smell the awkward tension between us. The only rational solution to end the awkward tension between us was: Communication. This was going to be more difficult that I thought it would be.
Anava understood too as to why I was suddenly giving windows so much of my attention. She would also slowly sip her coffee when Jay and I would start the staring competition. Her twin really was shit-eating.
I needed more caffeine, so I got up from my table, but before I could reach the counter I asked Anava whether she wanted another cup too to which she nodded her head and continued scrolling through her Instagram feed.
I was merely 5 steps away from the counter when a stony chest bumped into me and spilled their cold coffee all over me. The bump was so hard that I almost crashed into a couples' table.
I was about to say to the person that bumped into me that it's alright but then I saw Jay, standing with an empty coffee cup and a smug grin. So instead I said:
"What in the ever living fuck?" My voice was loud and clear. Some mothers covered their children's ears so that they don't hear me cuss.
The only question that rippled in me was why?
I wasn't even sad. I was just enraged and ready to explode so hard that the whole shop and the neighbouring shops would get blown into smithereens.
"Oop, I'm sorry. Didn't see you there box tent." He replied, his grin not moving an inch.
I went for him. And when I say I went for him, I mean I flew towards him. I leapt in the air at him and started punching him square in the face.
That didn't last long as I stopped for a second to recompose and steady myself, he overpowered the situation and now it was him punching me.
"I'm sure you got all those moves from watching all the barbie shows when you were a-" I couldn't finish my sentence as he went to punch me again, but I ducked at the last second and avoided getting hit.
