Chapter: 4
Talia Witchburn
When I woke up, I quickly took a bath and braided my hair. I was surprised when I smelled the aroma of delicious eggs and bacon. I went out of the room and tiptoed towards the kitchen.
“Are you going to stand there or eat?” Laxus asked. He was sitting on the table.
“You prepared breakfast? That’s really cool. You know, Makarov doesn’t know how to cook.” I sat across him and smiled.
“I know…he’s my grandfather.” He muttered before starting to eat. I smiled before I started eating.
“So, you’re an S-class mage as well huh?” I started making a conversation.
“Yes… how did you become an S-class mage if you can’t even protect yourself?” He seems to be in a bad mood. But I want him to feel better.
“I could protect myself, but I can’t protect everyone in Magnolia.” I drank water to push back the lump that was forming in my throat.
“Fair enough,”
“Ironic, isn’t it? I am a fairy who is supposed to be the one who saves the people, but I end up being the one who is saved…” I looked down.
“If you look at it, you gave yourself in to the Council so that you could save the Guild. That’s pretty heroic. Just to think, your blood was drained out of you slowly but you endured that.” He was obviously trying to make me feel better.
“You may be right, or you may be wrong.” I smiled. He seemed stunned so I looked away.
“You look like you’re finished eating. Let’s go.” We both went out of the house and proceeded to the main road.
“You seem to be in a good mood today Laxus.” I commented to make a conversation.
“How could you say?” He frowned.
“Oh nothing, I could just see your aura. So there is no point in lying.” I wasn’t lying. I know how a fairytail mage feels like the moment I lay eyes on them. I am a fairy after all.
“I had a really good sleep last night.” He stared at me as if I was the reason why.
“Why so?” I wondered.
“You sang me to sleep. The song you sang over and over last night was the same lullaby that Jii-chan sang to me when I was a kid.” It got me enthralled when Laxus did not even hesitate in telling me the truth.
“That was no lullaby. It’s a song I made. I can’t believe Master Makarov even sang it in the first place. He said he hated it.” I bit my lip.
“Why would he sing it, if he hated it?” His question was more of a statement.
We went from store to store, buying clothes and stuff I would need.
“I don’t like shopping.” I complained.
“Jii-chan told me to buy you everything you would need.”
“You seem to have a lot of money. Anyways, I for one am not pleased with having a man buy things for me. As soon as I get a job, I’ll pay you back everything you bought and find a house I could live in.” I assured him. Although I do like the dresses he bought me.
We went out of the store. He insisted on bringing the bags, like a common gentleman would. People were looking at us for some reason though.
