Today, me, the Burns family and the boys were at Blossom Veil for a day out. I always loved this part of Griffin Rock. It's so beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn't go there a lot because people were always around. But, I've only been in this world for about two winters. That just reminds me I've only got three winters left in this world.

We foxes don't last very long. According to another fox I talked to, we only live for five winters. I'm still young though. Anyway, Danny and Blades were playing on the waterfall, Boulder was painting the scenery, Graham and Chief Charlie Burns were setting up a picnic type thing, Heatwave and Kade were skidding stones on the water, Cody was walking around trying to find something to do, Chase went on a walk nearby while I just sat on the grass.

I've known the family for about three months now and I've definitely warmed up to them. The only thing I haven't warmed up to is the bath and everyone else in the town. I'm still uncomfortable around people but, I guess that'll pass soon. Heatwave soon joined me and we chatted a bit before we started playing. Mostly him chasing me. I ended up climbing a tree, escaping him.

"Lucky fox," he said looking up at me.

"Slowpoke," I said with a smirk, "you know, I'd thought you'd be faster for a fire truck."

"I'm faster in vehicle mode."

"Let's not show off."

Charlie called everyone for food so I jumped down from the tree onto Heatwave's shoulder safely. We went back to everyone else and ate our lunch. I'm still learning table manners so I was eating like an animal still. I also still don't like bread so I was taking my sandwiches apart and eating the inside. The Burns family don't seem to mind.

Unfortunately, they had to leave for an emergency. I had to come too. A technology malfunction. Besides the bots, I don't like technology. It's WAY too complicated and this will happen all the time. The amount of times I've had to run from technology malfunction in the last two winters is annoying. Heatwave let me out to keep me away from the trouble and I ran into an alleyway to hide.

The bots did their job and I noticed someone in the way of the trouble so I ran out and ended up tackling them to the ground because the machine almost fell on us. Before the person could thank me, I ran off. I don't wanna be talked to. The bots finished their job and I came out of hiding but instantly hid behind Heatwave. The person I saved tried to thank me again but I climbed up Heatwave and sat on his shoulder.

We went back to the firehouse where the news was making me look like a hero because what I did was caught on camera. Perfect. I hid in my room for the rest of the day after that. Dare I look outside at one point to see a few people and a news reporter outside wanting to know who I was. Thankfully, Charlie made them go away.

I probably should've never stepped in to help. This is way too much commotion for one save. I then heard a knock on my door and I told whoever it was to come in only to see someone I've never met. He had very ginger hair, pale skin, goldish-orange eyes and he wore a white shirt with firefighter trousers that were held up by braces.

"You alright?" He asked.

"I've never seen you before," I said.

"Oh, right. It's me, Heatwave. I'm in my holoform to make me look human and so I could see you."

"You sound like him, your eyes are the same. Anyway, to answer your question, not really. Does one rescue really cause that much commotion?"

"Only when it's done by someone they haven't seen before."

I sat on my bed, "well, I don't like it."

"Well, we do it every day and we're not always thanked," Heatwave told me sitting next to me.

"You have it easy."

"You don't like praise, do you?"

"I'm a fox invited into a town people would consider small but I think it's gigantic. The amount of people in this town is too much for a little fox like me."

"You can always stay here with Cody and watch us from the command centre."

"That sounds safer."

Heatwave then stroked my head which I leaned into. It feels nice. After dinner, I went to bed for the day and occasionally woke up to the sound of sirens. It was the bots going on new missions. I love living in the firehouse. It's actually a lot better than the forest.

(A/N: I don't know what to DOOOO! So I'm ending it here. You'll hate the next chapter though.)
