2 months later_

"Left!" Toshinori shouted.

"Wha—?" I turned just in time to dodge a punch from some guy called Mirai Sasaki. He's twenty-three, a sidekick of All Mights, his hero name is Sir Nighteye.

He's a weird guy but... if you compare him to Toshinori... well he's definitely less weird. But he's enjoyable to be around. Bit of a stick in the mud sometimes though.

"You're too slow," Sasaki stopped, "why are we doing this again?"

"Because she has potential," Toshinori replied.

"Well, why aren't you doing this?" Sasaki asked, gesturing to sparring with me.

"Because I can't hold back enough not to hurt y/n," Toshinori replied honestly with that grin of his barely even dropping slightly at the disturbing thought.

"Hello, I'm right here," I waved at the two heroes, "though, I don't really know why I'm being forced to learn hand to hand either."

"Explain, Yagi," Sasaki frowned.

"Well, the entrance exams for UA have already passed, the new year began two weeks ago, but I want y/n to come with me to see Principal Nezu next week," Toshinori replied, "I want to try and get y/n into UA."

"Wait, wait, wait," I repeated, throwing my hands up, "I didn't agree to this! UA? When was this decided?"

"It'll be a great opportunity for you, y/n," Toshinori turned to me, "you'll learn how to fully maximise the use of your quirk plus you can learn to find a way to stop your suffering to those drawbacks you're always experiencing once you've finished using your quirk. Not to mention, I think you have real promise to become a hero. I know UA can teach you well—after all, it is my own alma matter. And also, with UA behind you... you will undoubtedly be safe from anyone related to those hooded former guardians of yours."

I wanted to say no but I am living in a flat(/apartment) that he bought for me, and he's been looking after me, plus he's kind of paying for everything I need to live...

I kind of have no choice here, do I? I owe him and if this is the way I can pay him back then I guess I'm going to hero school—fun?

"Oh fine," I sighed. Sasaki looked between us before sighing.

"Fine," he nodded, "come on, l/n. Back to training."

I let out an exhausted groan before getting ready to start fighting again.

This sucks.

A week later_

"This is UA?" I asked as we walked up to a large building surrounded by gates with the letters U and A on the top, "obviously. They like showing off, huh?"

Toshinori glanced down at me before letting out a small laugh and walking forward, pausing just as he was about to step past the gate and turned to me.

"Take this," he passed me a small, laminated card, "it's a visitors pass. Don't want the gates closing on you."

"Thank you," I took the card and we both walked through the gates.

"Now let's see if I can remember how to get to the Principals office again," he said with a loud confident laugh as I just followed him silently through the student infested grounds. Obviously as we walked, we were getting some weird looks.

This is embarrassing... I wish they'd stop staring—I don't want to be here any more than you guys want me, a stranger, in your school...

"Ah-ha! Here we are!" Toshinori grinned as he knocked on the doors we found ourselves in front of.

"The Principals office?" I asked.

"Yep," he nodded as the doors opened.

"Oh, All Might," a high-pitched voice piped up and I looked around.

"Where's... that voice coming from?" I asked.

"Look down," the voice said, I looked down to see a white creature, "hello there!"

"Oh... uh... hello?" I greeted him, "who... what... uh—huh?"

"I'm Nezu, the Principal, you must be f/n l/n," the creature introduced himself.

He's the Principal?!

"Nice to meet you," I quickly composed myself, "and thank you for agreeing to this meeting."

"It is my pleasure," Nezu smiled(?), "come on in, let's talk."

We nodded and followed the small furry creature and then took a seat in front of his desk while he took the seat behind it.

"So, Yagi, you brought young l/n here to ask for a favour?" Nezu looked to Toshinori, dropping his hero name.

Is this personal? A social call?

"Yes, I want to ask if you can allow y/n into the hero course. Of course, not off of my word alone. I'm sure that you're going to need to know what her academics and quirk power is like," Toshinori replied, "unlike her quirk, I can't really vouch for her academics, but I know she's a hard worker, determined and has real potential in becoming a great hero in the future."

Private tutoring with my former guardians and also Luxin when they were away has helped me keep up with my academics even despite not going to school so he doesn't much need to worry about that either... I hope anyway. It'd be a nightmare if it turns out I'm years behind my peers—oh gosh, that's another thing to worry about. I don't want to appear like I'm lacking in my academics. Oh no... what if my lacklustre grades disappoints Toshinori I—

Nezu let out a thoughtful hum and I quickly straightened up, forcing my brain to just stop the panicking for a moment and focus forward.

"I'll get some tests," he stated, "then you can do them, and we'll make a decision from there."

Oh god—now we find out just how dumb I am. I hate this.

Universe, if you hear me, save me—

A exam paper and a mock battle later_

"I think that l/n has a lot of potential as well," Nezu stated as we sat in his office, "I'll have to show these results to the rest of the staff and get their opinion as well before I make a decision. I'll be in touch with you in a week or so."

Oh thank god—does that mean I am ok at my exams?

I feel so much better now.

A small comforting sensation moving across me made me smile slightly and glance to the side, Luxin was comforting me—thank you, Luxin.

"Thank you, Principal Nezu," both me and Toshinori bowed before leaving his office and the school.

"You did great," Toshinori ruffled my hair, and I smiled.

"It's all thanks you to, Toshinori," I told him, "without you, I wouldn't have been able to free myself from those people and I have a feeling my fate would've been much darker."

Toshinori shook his head.

"I'm sure that you'll have gotten out of their grasps without my help. You're a very capable young lady, y/n, don't you forget that," he said as I bumped into a dark-haired student.

"Oh. Sorry about that," I apologised to him, he stared at me with dull eyes silently before turning and walking away, "Ok... Then..?"

"What do you want to eat?" Toshinori asked as I looked after the student's retreating form for a moment before turning jogging to catch up with him again, "don't hold back. Today is a day to celebrate."

"Ok... how about (favourite street food)?" I asked.

"(favourite street food) it is," he nodded, "I'll call Tsukauchi and Sasaki, and we'll all eat together!"

"Yay!" I grinned as we left the grounds of UA and started to head to Toshinori's car.

I'm going to bankrupt this guy. All you can eat (favourite street food) here we come!
