[ Chapter 34 ]

" I never liked cats " I said.

I see Zenix still doing the bed and I just stood up, I enter the bathroom and change. I change into just a hoodie and shorts since I'll be in this house and just eat food.

" You know, your family is not that bad " he said.

" Two days ago was probably the shittiest days I have ever had " I said and apply toothpaste on my tooth brush.

" Yeah, it was was cause you left me alone in the living room with everyone looking at me after the fight you had with your mom " he said, I chuckled.

I brush my teeth and I hear him leaving the room along with his keys jangling are fading down the corridor. I was done and I walk out fo the bathroom seeing the cat on the bed sleeping.

I grab my phone and see it's fully charged. I unplug the charger and leave the room by closing the door behind me. I walk down the corridor to the stairs and to the kitchen where is we Zenix making coffee.

" You want sugar? " He asked.

" You do know there's caffeine " I said.

" Right " he stops pouring onto the second cup.

" So what do you want to drink? " He asked.

" Anything but coffee, tea, juices, things starts with strawberry and a definite no to milk " I said.

" Want some milo? " He asked.

" What's a milo?, Did you kill my sister's cat?, Cause I'll be happy if you did but I'm not eating it obviously " I said.

" It's like a hot cocoa " he said and start making one with a dark brown powder.

I just scroll through my phone and see texts from Ian and the others about me quiting.

Yes, I did quit, unfortunately I realize how time I always waste but my only book that is published is currently taking off but i wanna fine another job than that.

I can do better.

Zenix was done making the drink.

" Careful, it's hot " he said.

I pick up the mug and take a whiff, it's sweet. I take a sip and I raise my eyebrows in how the sweetness just spread in my mouth.

" This is good " I said.

" Glad you like it "

~ Time Skip ~

My head was throbbing as I feel my back started to ache as well. I open my eyes on how uncomfortable I feel, I groan and turn my head to the right, I open my eyes and the first thing I see is a glass shard with blood stains and Kiki licking my hand.

I furrow my eyebrows and look around to realize I'm on the floor. I sit up and groan holding my forehead, I look at the floor and see a shattered glass everywhere.

I look around and I'm on the kitchen floor.

" What the hell happened? " I look down the palm of my right hand and see a small multiple cuts is what I think is from the glass.

" Meow " Kiki rub his body against mine and I push him away lightly.

I must've fainted.

I stood up and see no water spilled, I clean my hand and the cuts stopped shortly, I look up at the clock and see it's five sharp in the afternoon.

How long was I out?

I grab a broom and start cleaning the mess I made, I throw the shards away and put back the broom. I leave the kitchen and see my phone on the floor by the couch.

I pick it up and turn it to see the screen is half cracked.

" Seriously? " I asked.

I see the last thing I did is texting Chase at 4:35.

I've been unconscious for almost 30 minutes.

I sit down on the couch and sigh when I hear the front door open, I look up and see Zenix entering.

" You don't like my couch so something definitely went wrong " he takes out his key from the lock and shut the door behind him.

I snicker.

" Nothing happened, I'm just feeling a little worn out " I said.

" What were you doing? " He place his bag on the table and walk up to me.

" Nothing actually, I fainted. . . .I think " I said.

" Are you alright? " He sit down next to me, I nodded.

" Yeah, I got cut by the glass but I'm fine " I show him my hand full of cuts.

" We gotta go check on your neurologist " he said.

" It's probably low blood sugar, I rarely drink juices anyways " I said.

" Either way, you need to go to the doctor when it comes about you fainting it anything that includes your brain injury " he said, I sighed.

" As long as there's no more pills for me to shove down my throat " I said.

" I'll call Ash " he said.

" Why? " I asked.

" Your neurologist Natalie is his sister " he takes out his phone.

" Of course " I said.

" Hey, I want you to be not sick anymore, you think I like seeing you like this?, Taking pills that we don't even know that will have affect? " He asked.

" Why did you decided to pick me? " I asked.

" What do you mean? " He asked.

" After Catherine and you broke up, why did you come to me? " I asked.

" Remember back in Chicago, when you were in that room, I couldn't help it but admire in how the way you look at me " he said.

" How can you fall in love with a broken girl? " I asked.

He put his phone down and place his hand on my cheek turning my head to him. He looks directly at me.

" Your not broken " he peck my lips, I sighed and push his hands off.
