(This takes places a couple months after chapter one btw)

3rd person pov

The two boys would tend to have each other on call almost every single night, either for studying, or Bokuto going on rants about random things.

Akaashi didn't really mind ever having Bokuto on call since he never really had many close friends.

Sometimes Bokuto would call Akaashi saying that he couldn't sleep, so things would go like this.

It was around 2:45 in the morning and Akaashi was just about to go to sleep until somebody called him.

"Bet it's Bokuto-San." He thought.

Akaashi answered the phone to Bokuto not being able to sleep. Again.

"Akaaashii!! I can't sleep!" Bokuto said restlessly

"Go make yourself some tea and listen to some calming music" Akaashi replied halfway asleep "Always works for me."

"I did!!" Bokuto moped "Can you sing to me? You have a nice voice so maybe you can sing!"

"Hm.. I guess I could try singing.." Akaashi said softly. "I'll sing a melody I've had stuck in my head."

"Yayyy!!! Thank you Akaashi!!"

"Ok here goes.."

"In another life..."

"We would wake up close.."

To Bokuto, Akaashi sounded like he had just came down from heaven. Like an angel.

"Stay up late and watch the sky, so you could see the snow.."

Bokuto began to doze off while listening to Akaashi's beautiful melody.

"In another life...it's more than fantasy."

"So I don't have to fall asleep for you to come find me."

Akaashi was about to continue singing, but he heard Bokuto's snoring knowing he was fast asleep.

Akaashi hung up the call shortly after, crawling into bed.

————The next morning————

Bokuto woke up feeling rather refreshed.

He rolled out of bed, (probably late for school) put his uniform on, brushed his hair and teeth, grabbed a cereal bar and out the door he went.

"Bye mom!" He yelled as he ran out the door

The overly-energetic boy ran down the street to where his usual meeting spot with Akaashi was. It was really convenient because the streets their houses were on would merge to their school path.

"Ughhh I'm so late today!! I bet he already went ahead." Bokuto thought running in place

Less than a second later Bokuto had spotted Akaashi in the distance reading a book while walking.

"HEY HEY!! Akaashi!!" The owl boy said springing up on Akaashi's shoulders.

"Ah, good morning Bokuto-San." Akaashi said, closing his book.

"Mornin'! Anyways, I slept amazing last night!!" The taller beamed.

"Oh you're welcome. Didn't set an alarm again did you?" The slender boy asked

"No.. You should know that though!" Bokuto hooted

"Haha, yeah I guess I should." Akaashi giggled

"How long has it been since I first met Akaashi..? 3.. 4 months? That long and this is the first time I've ever heard him remotely laugh?" Bokuto thought

"Hey, uh, Akaashi. Why don't you laugh or smile that often?" The curious boy asked

"I just don't really like my laugh all that much is all." Akaashi replied "And my smile is really ugly.." He muttered

"Eh? Why!! I don't think your smile is ugly!! It's awesome!!" Bokuto jumped

"Thanks.. I guess." Akaashi spoke in his normal monotone voice

The two continued walking until they arrived at school.

"Ughhh I just wanna sit at home and watch action movies!! I hate school" Bokuto moped

"Well, see you at practice Bokuto-San" Akaashi said walking to his class

"Yeah." Bokuto responded

School and practice were going pretty normal. Nothing too new or exciting happened during either of them. Except Bokuto failed his math exams. (As usual.)

After practice the two did their usual routine, meat buns and walk to "the split" (is what they called their meeting point.)

Although, instead of going their separate ways Akaashi asked Bokuto a question.

"Hey Bokuto-San?" Akaashi asked

"Yeah?" Bokuto replied

"Wanna come over to my house for a bit? I can help you study."

"You mean it?! Of course I'll come over!" Bokuto hooted "But wouldn't your parents mind?"

"Don't worry, they're out tonight." Akaashi replied
