They came from where darkness lies and whenever they strike, fear were conflicted and death came.
Because of this, harmony and peace were broken. And, the raging darkness and horror reign under his control.
A man with wide, empty and glowing eyes. Where he strike, blood follows. In his path blood, terror, destruction and cruelty reign. He was called the 'Lord of the undead', 'The wide-eye demon' or 'The Dark Lord.' Feared and known for his brutality and power.
Not only had he dominated the Overworld, but as well as the Nether. The End felt his ambitions menacing their realm and few Netherians -who refused to follow and bow down to him, together, they sided with the human kind to try and stop him and his army of undead.
A war befell and it rages on for many nights and days. At last, together with their combined strength and unity, they brought him down to his knees.
Two Ender Sentinels, three Great Guardians, and one Nether lord, transposed his soul inside a shadow entity and sealed them in a magical cube where he can't escape. They managed to disposed his body and destroyed half of his power.
Without him in control, his army of undead feel and scattered throughout the overworld. The Netherians were forced to go back to their own realm.
People thought harmony and peace would finally came that he's gone but they were so wrong.
Even though, he was no longer in charge, the scattered undead still disturbs some areas in the overworld. His skeleton army had dominated one third of the Nether, called the 'Valley of Souls'. Misunderstanding came, and shattered the bond between the End and the Overworld. A new Nether King was crowned over the Nether who averse both the End and the Overworld.
The humans strive to drove the Netherians who got in the Overworld and was causing dispute. Meanwhile, a second war broke out between the End and the Nether.
The End won the war but one fourth of their people were converted and had resided with the Nether. They are known as the 'Netherman'. The Netherman were placed under the rule of the 'Warped Lord' -one of the king's subjects. They dwell in the Nether Warped Forest.
Due to this divisions and the continuous conflicts, the three Great Guardians, the two End Sentinels, and the interdicted Nether Lord feared for the safety of the cube that the Nether and some malefactors may try and harnesses the power inside it -thus, there's a high possibility that they may unleashed something much more destructive.
So, in able to protect it. They built a hidden temple deep in the jungle where deadly traps and where undead roamed and guarded the temple.
For many years the cube has been kept safe and the legends about it vanished and forgotten, like ashes blown by the wind.
It is said that the three Great Guardians appointed a clan of great warriors to protect the secret of the cube and it's location from those who tried to seek it. They are known as the 'guardians', which an oath was given to them -to protect the cube from anyone who tries to possess it.
The ancient six protectors prediction was fulfilled. Many did tried to find it and to take it for themselves unaware of the darkness sealed inside. Luckily, none succeed.
It is belived that the cube hold the power of the Dark Lord, the power to manipulate lighting and had the ability to control the undead to do thy bidding. That's why people search for it. And, up till now, there's always someone trying to seek it-"
"Cube, cube, cube! Pfft, that's just a legend." Nick derided.
"Yeah, is it even true that such power exist? The Dark Lord or whatever he is was killed during the first war." Steve conceded while he crossed his arms.
"Anyway, there's no such thing as this kind of legend. I've only heard it just now." Alex spoke up.
"Yeah, ah, i-is it really true? About the cube and the Dark Lord sealed inside?" Shandy apprehensive.
She nervously looked up at the old woman sitting at the opposite side of the fire camp.
It was a lovely evening, four children and an old woman is seen sitting opposite to each other around a fire camp, as the children listened to the tales of the old lady.
"Don't be scared, Shandy. It's just a legend to scare you." Alex, Nick, and Steve giggled.
"I'm not scared! I-I'm-" Shandy sputtered angrily.
"But, the legend is true, my dear children. Only few knows it. A prophecy had been told that one day he shall be freed and he shall strike terror again. He will choose a vessel to reside in. A vessel he saw as a worthy one to do his bidding." The old woman interposed hastily.
At that moment, the town bell rang -it was time to be indoors. Steve and Nick exhilaratingly jump up on their feet, glad that they can finally leave.
They gestured a courtesy at the old woman before they ran home.
The old woman watched them parted ways before she turned away and slowly walked to her house.
