can't you see || asahi hamada ?

"Akari!" Someone smacked me in the back as I winced. "You again?!" I demanded after turning around to face Sana. "My back hurts now," I glared at her and walked away. "Yah! Wait for me!" Sana yelled as she caught up with me. 

"I'm stuck with you again? Ya i'm already eighteen...stuck with you for 5 years already?!" I teased after she had finally caught up with me as she panted and mimicked Blackpink's new song's choreography. 

"I learnt a choreo over the holidays and I'm litearlly on fire! Look at this. We are the lovesick girls~!" Sana sang off tune as she danced around me. "Wait. What's wrong with being stuck with me?" Sana pouted as she stopped dancing and glared at me. 

"Nanimo," I cringed as Sana continued pouting.

(nanimo means nothing in japanese if i'm not mistaken!)

"Hmph, you better mean that!" Sana rolled her eyes and continued her dance frenzy. As we walked down the school hall and I felt like I was in that cliched k drama, Sana suddenly screamed. 

"Ya Sana Minatozaki what's wrong with yo-" Before I could finish my sentence, Sana pressed her palm onto my mouth. "ABC!" she screamed, keeping her hand on my mouth. Groaning, I flicked off her hand. "Who?" I turned my head. 

Oh. The three most popular guys in our cohort, namely, abc. Don't they sound more stupid than cool? But that's contrary to popular belief, sadly. Abc consisted of Asahi Hamada, Bang Ye Dam and Choi Hyun Suk. 

Thing is, it doesn't even make sense because if Asahi's surname were to come first, it'll be hbc. Anyways, meet the most popular guys, in the most cliched way. 

Asahi Hamada, your typical guy who has crazy girls gawking over him everyday. He does competitive swimming like me and we train together, although most of the time I avoid him. Contrary to popular belief, he's a loser and a jerk. The other two are irrelevant since without Asahi they'd just be losers. 

Ye Dam is the head of student council. He's that type of gentleman who's nice to everyone, and kinda overly nice. Ask him to do anything, he'll do it for you. Yeah, that nice. All the girls love him, well no shit, except me! 

Choi Hyunsuk is that guy who's immature and has sometimes a little too much fun. He's the captain of the football team and changes his hair colour every month although dyed hair isn't even allowed in school. The girls loved him when he's on the field and some girls, well like my best friend, only sign up for cheer-leading because of him.

"HYUNSUK OPPA!" Sana gushed as I muttered coldly, "he's not even your oppa." 

"He is! He's two months older than me," Sana gushed yet again. 

"Boyfriend material," Sana squealed and continued screaming. What- Before I could retaliate to our verbal fight, someone tapped my back and passed me a box. 

"Akari, you need to get this to the classroom right now! Our teacher is waiting there and you were the class treasurer last year!" Oh god, it was Yoshinori. He had been in the same class as me since I met Sana.

Meet Yoshinori. He loves to push responsibilities but he's a super cheerful person, just too high pitched when ABC comes around. 

"And, why should it be me?" I questioned, an eyebrow arched.

"Too bad, i'm a sucker for the popular guys," Yoshinori squealed like Sana.

"Wait, but our classroom is on the other side-" Before I could insist, Yoshinori had run off to find his idols. Sighing, I held the box firmly and walked through the crowd. 

As girls shoved me, I groaned. Why were there so many of them? 

"Stop pushing!" I groaned but to no avail as I was pushed by the crowd closer and closer to abc. 

I was going to hit them.

HOLD UP. I WAS GOING TO HIT THEM?

I looked up only to see Asahi's shocked face as I tumbled over and the box of books fell onto the floor. Well, so did Asahi and I. 

As I groaned and got up, girls around us gasped as they cried, "What did you do to Asahi?!" What did i do to Asahi- 

Asahi was lying on the ground, hand clutching his head. Well at least it wasn't bleeding-

"Do you have a damn problem?!" Asahi demanded as he got up and "brushed" the "germs" off him. "Well," I wasn't one to accept his rude shit. I got up and snapped back, "I think you're the problem." gasps filled the hallway as girls started whispering. 

Asahi laughed to my surprise and walked forward. as he came right in front of me, he muttered coldly, "Do you know who I am?" 

I clenched my fist. This guy was really asking for a fight. As I stepped forward, I heard Sana whisper behind me, "Don't do it akari!" 

But i had enough. 

I chuckled, "Well, do I look like i care?" 

He smirked. 

i stepped in front, snapping, "I don't."

Gasps filled the room yet again as I laughed to myself. Nudging Asahi in the elbow, I walked away, leaving the stack of books behind me. 

"You tried your best Asahi!" I yelled behind him.

"Don't try again!" I smiled. 

First day wasn't that bad! Or so I thought...

Asahi's POV

"Don't try again," I heard box girl yell behind me as I rolled my eyes. 

As I gestured for Hyun Suk and Ye Dam to walk away, they chuckled behind me, "Asahi, that girl got you good! She was so damn feisty-" 

"Yeah," I smiled. 

"She's the first girl to do that to me."
