POV : Emma
' You're kidding, right? '
I was stuck. It felt like I was frozen in time. Was this a dream? No, it couldn't be. If it were a dream, they wouldn't be so happy to see me go. I sat down, unsure of what was to happen next. The towns people crowded around me. I had no idea who most of them were, but I had seen their faces everyday. Since two years ago, I have been a rumor upon the town. It was like I was famous, minus the crowding part. Until today. Today, was the day I would leave to be with my family.
"We are so happy you found your family... it was such a downer to always see you so sad when we would all have gatherings..."
I continued to listen to their goodbyes as my family began to show up. I put a brave smile on my face to reassure them all that I was fine! But, in reality... I was scared. I was scared that maybe I would regret leaving. It's been two years since I've lost my memory. I've learned a lot, but I still can't quite remember who these people are. The black and white haired ones look a little familiar, but the memories I've might have had with the two seem to be too fuzzy to clear up. Even so, I agreed to stay with them. After all, they were my family... right?
"I'm going to miss you... a lot."
My old man said. My eyes swelled and began to tear up. He was the only one who really understood me the past couple of years. Even now, he still supports me in my decision to move with my so called family.
" you have no idea... "
I hugged him tightly. We both gave a small laugh and ended the hug. The entire bunch of the orphans that had just came in looked at me with teary smiles on their faces. It had only been a day or so since they arrived and found me. I haven't even learned a single name. However, these people seemed so.... genuine. I couldn't wait until I got the chance to know them all! They looked so relieved, as if they had been looking for me since the moment I left their grasp. I felt a little weird by the whole situation, but I trusted them. I wanted to trust them.
" Emma..?"
I turned around. The white haired one spoke... he called out my name. I looked into his bright blue eyes and suddenly... I remembered why I wanted to go with them. That same aching in my heart appeared whenever I looked at them. Whenever I looked at him.
" u-uh... yes...? "
The white haired man stood up. His name was... Norman. He looked a couple years older than me, but he acted my age. Was he really 16 as well? He had white hair for pete's sake... not to mention he had an old man name. "Norman." How funny... Still, it suited him. He walked over to me. I felt my heart beginning to beat faster the closer he got. What was our relationship before I had lost my memory, I wonder? He gently held both of my hands, my face began to flush. His face copied mine. It looked like he was about to explode on the inside. Flushed or not, we both knew that we were on the same page.
" A-are you ready to go? "
I hesitated a bit. I wanted to go home, but where was home? was it here? Was it with them? I kept quiet for a bit, lots of thoughts began to race through my head. It was like I was on a stage, being judged by the rest if my family. All eyes were on me. All of a sudden, the old man touched my shoulder. I looked back at him, my eyes beginning to glisten with tears. He nodded softly. Deep down I knew he didn't want me to leave, but he would let me do it anyway. He sniffed a bit, trying to hold back his tears. The old man looked at the white haired boy and crossed his arms. I could see that Norman was intimidated. His grasp on my hands tightened a bit. I snorted. They both looked down at me with confusion. They had been looking so serious this entire time, I had to break the ice!
