The car had barely stopped moving before I jumped out. I sped walked into the Palace and immediately got to work on my case report, I hate having to stay late for paperwork. I heard Danny walk in but I didn't look up, I was still reeling from everything that happened this morning.
*A few hours later *
We had finally figured out our case and we had just finished booking our suspect. I walked into Steve's office to wait for him to get back so I can debrief and go home. After about 10 minutes of waiting he walked in, giving me a quick smile and sitting down behind his desk, "So, give me the short and sweet." I clear my throat and start explaining how we had found our suspect while handing him the corresponding evidence.
Once I was finished talking I took a step back and waited for his response. He nodded his head and looked into my eyes," You need a few days off." He put his hand up to stop me before I can say anything and adds, "You seem stressed and even though you haven't been here long I know how difficult it is to go from the NAVY to police work. So I'm giving you an order, go relax." I knew I couldn't argue so I just nodded and walked out, waving at everyone as I put on my shades and walked out into the warm Hawaiian sunlight.
Once I got home, I flopped onto my bed and closed my eyes, rubbing my face in frustration. After a few minutes I got up to go take a shower, if I want to relax, I need to be clean. I close the bathroom door and strip out of my dirty clothes, tossing them into the laundry basket in the corner before stepping into the shower, turning the hot water on and waiting for it to warm up. Once it was warm I washed myself and my hair, taking quite a long time. When I was finished I sat down, pulling my knees to my chest and letting the water pound onto my back, just letting my muscles relax and warm up. After 10 minutes I stood up and closed the water, stepping out of the shower and grabbing my towel. I wrap it around myself and grab another one for my hair, rubbing it to get rid of most of the water. I drop the second towel on the floor once I walk into my room, dropping the towel around my body as well. I walk to my drawers, grab some clean pajamas and crawl into bed, switching on the TV and snuggling up in my blanket.
