A deep groan escaped Satomi as she and Laxus stepped out of the train, finally back in Magnolia.
"Why does it have to be raining?" She attempted to cover her head with her hands with an irritated frown. Laxus chuckled beside her as they ducked under the roof of the arrivals platform.
"Why, can't you do something about it?" Laxus joked beside her, earning a half hearted glare. Satomi folded her hands behind her head, turning ahead again as they headed for the exit.
"I can't control the weather" She argued back and Laxus peered down at her with a humoured smirk.
Her discontent at the grey and gloomy weather was so obvious it seemed as if the more pointed, feline, version of her ears were laid flat against her head.
"Maybe you could talk to Juvia, she's a rainwoman" Satomi's features didn't change from her current frown as her eyes turned to the dark sky.
"I'd rather not" Satomi really didn't like talking to strangers, and would avoid doing so as much as possible.
Laxus was smirking at her in amusement as she glanced at him and she immediately turned away again with a shy blush. She scrunched her nose in discontent as they stepped out of the trainstation and the hum of the rain hitting the cobblestones filled the air.
A shadow fell over her making her turn around as Laxus stepped closer, bringing her under the cover of his absurdly large travel cloak.
"Come on, I'll cover you" He pulled the brown hood over his head with a cocky grin and Satomi blushed even redder.
Despite being above average height for most women, she still felt like a midget standing beside this guy. In spite of her fluster she managed a nod, an appreciative smile tugging at her lips at the gesture.
"I'll buy you a beer once we get back to the guild" Satomi glanced up at Laxus again as they set off running through the rain, both wishing to find new cover as soon as possible. Water splashed around their feet and Satomi nodded with a small smirk tugging on her lips as well.
"Sounds good"
Their dash to the fairytail guild hall didn't take them too long, five minutes at best. Even so they were both completely drenched as they arrived.
Satomi groaned in displeasure as they finally ducked in through the massive doubledoors to their guild hall, shivering from the cold of the rain and wind sticking to her clothes.
"I seriously thought we would drown out there. I really should have just teleported us after all" She spoke while running her hands through her hair to squeeze out the water. Laxus's eyes widened as he let her out of the cover of his cloak and tugged off his hood.
"You had us run through all that when you could have brought us here without as much as a drop of rain?" Satomi snickered at his incredulous tone, winking at him teasingly.
"I didn't want to ruin your gentleman-moment" Laxus blinked at her in obvious frustration and Satomi snickered at his expression, satisfied to see him for once being the one put off.
Their brief exchange got cut short as Satomi couldn't help but notice the eerie silence that decended on the rest of the crowd gathered in the guild. A faint sense of dread settled in her gut as her eyes turned to the hall.
Everyone was present. All eyes turned to them. Tension struck her hard as she realized what it must look like for their guildmates when the two of them came rushing in the door while huddled together like that.
She found herself swallowing tensly while taking a defensive step back. Not comfortable with all the attention, she sought shelter behind Laxus' broad back. The blonde dragonslayer glanced at her in confusion from over his shoulder. Satomi frowned deeply at his inquisitive look.
