"Mouse dung!" Lightspark skittered on a few loose stones, she found herself scrambling down a slope. Quillflight raced down the rocky slope, letting out a purr of amusement.
"Great job," He teased. "You totally caught that robin."
Lightspark flattened her ears in embarrassment; she felt like clawing her mate's ears o-
ut. She forced herself to purr, "I did my best."
"My first prey was a thrush," Continued Quillflight.
"Oh shut it won't you!" Lightspark spat. "I can't hunt in the deep woodland."
Quillflight's eyes widened, he looked down sadly. "Sorry." he mumbled.
"No," Lightspark sighed. "I should be sorry."
Bingo skirted down the slope and faced the two cats: "Will you two stay here gossiping all day?" She snapped. "That's not much of a help."
Mumbling a sorry, Lightspark continued her search for prey; she smelled a vole nearby. The small creature was eating a nut, Lightspark crawled down onto the floor, her belly fur brushing the leaves of the ground.
She was careful not to make noises, especially on the crunchy leaves of an ending leaf-bare. Lightspark shot into the air and killed the vole with a swift bite, after she killed it she found herself scrambling on the loose leaves and slamming head-first on a tree's trunk.
A cat appeared from behind her, blood trickled out of Lightspark's nose, she let out a sneeze and more sprinkled everywhere. She noticed that the cat was Quillflight. Quillflight's eyes widened with alarm, but he shook his head holding back a snort of laughter.
Lightspark felt her ear tips turn hot with embarrassment. "Be more careful," He mewed gently.
"I will," Lightspark promised, but she knew it would not be entirely true.
"Let's bring the prey back. I'm starving!" Quillflight took her vole and padded away.
Lightspark drew her tongue over her bloodied nose. The blood made a dry crust aroun-
d it Lightspark felt her wound stinging. She shivered, marigold for wounds—or for infections. She argued with herself what it was for. At once, Lightspark found a patch of marigolds.
She chewed them up and tried to place it on her nose, Lightspark shot back as some of the paste trickled down her chest fur. I'm no medicine cat, but I'll be fine, Lightspark scrambled up the slope looking for the cats.
Lightspark settled down in a clump of nettle beside Quillflight. They ate a rabbit that Bingo had caught. Lightspark swiped her tongue over her lips. Her wound was not hurting
anymore. Lightspark was happy to feel better now. She wondered how Bingo, Dove, Talon, and Claw caught so many prey; She hardly caught a whisker.
When they finished the vole, Lightspark sat up, sharing tongues with Quillflight. After they finished eating; the group began to head out. The distant roars of the Thunderpath was near Lightspark's paw ache by stepping on the shards of rocks.
"Are we supposed to go to a lake?" Quillflight mewed unexpectedly.
"We're not going there," Bingo's meow was taut, her eyes flashed.
"StarClan said we're supposed to go there." Lightspark pointed out calmly.
Bingo blinked, her muzzle wrinkled. "StarClan! Oh yes! They know everything!"
