Something made Lightspark purr. There was something stroking her from head to her back. Lightspark leaped to her paws, unsheathing her claws.

She noticed the old Twoleg, it was him! Lightspark blinked as he reached in to pet her again. This time, Lightspark did not object. She closed her eyes as he rubbed around Lightspark's ear.

As soon as he went away, Lightspark leaped down.

"That was great!" she chirped.

Lightspark padded over to the food bowl, it was freshly restocked, her gaze fell into the water bowl. It was now full of white liquid. She lapped the milk, her amber eyes glowed with pleasure.

"What a great life!" Lightspark meowed. "I see why kittypets like it."

"Yes, but Lightspark we need to leave soon," Quillflight objected hastily.

"I know, I know." Lightspark purred. She tasted a bit of the kittypet food. "Who's now in a hurry?"

Quillflight looked at his paws, his eyes blank. "I said I much rather eat fox dung."

He padded away, looking for Creampaw.

Twitching her whiskers, Lightspark followed Quillflight. Creampaw had emerged from the flap outside, her cream-colored pelt shining in the sun. Lightspark dipped her head in greetings, she watched Quillflight blink politely at her.

"Have you two change your minds about living here?" The kittypet mewed.

"No. We're leaving today. By any chance; is there a lake here?" Quillflight meowed.

Creampaw's ears twitched. "Yes, not far. I'll take you."

The she-cat whipped around, sliding through the entrance. Lightspark squeezed in behind her. Quillfight parted his jaws in a huge yawn, his orange eyes were full of curiosity and sleepiness.

Creampaw led them to a hill, they scrambled down it, sending grit up the hill. Light-

spark felt her whiskers twitch with uneasiness when they had reached down the hill, unfamiliar scents bathe on her tongue and she had found a hint of fox nearby.

She unsheathed her claws digging them into the peaty soil. She licked her shoulder fur that was beginning to rise up in fear and wariness. Creampaw led them through a clump of thick brambles, thorns snagged on Lightspark's fur and she felt something squishy underneath her.

Lightspark turned down to lick a few squashed blackberries from her paw pads. A shar-

p tang of salt reached Lightspark's nose and she found herself face to face with a glittering pretty lake. Pebbles lined the outside of it, along with sand that hid under them. Her eyes stretched wide.

"This is not how I remember it," Lightspark breathed in awe.

"Give me a visit if you guys are going to live here." Creampaw meowed.

Whipping around, Lightspark faced Creampaw. "Of course."

She watched as the kittypet padded back. Lightspark's tail twitched, surely she want-

ed an escort? Even though Creampaw lived here for so long and recognized the place Lightspark wanted to come with here to make sure she was safe and see their new territory once more. She swallowed her troubles away, Creampaw will be fine.

"Lightspark over here!"

Lightspark turned around to see Quillflight balancing on a log that was half-way sink-

ing into the clear green-ish blue water. Hopping down, Quillflight beckoned his tail so she could follow.

He padded over to a few clumps of ferns and brackens to reveal a hole big enough for them. The hole was too little for a badger and too small for a fox, so this was perfect for them. She watched as her mate squeezed inside the small hole sending grit down the top.

Lightspark followed more warily behind him. For all she knew there could be some sort of animal that could be dangerous in there. To her surprise, there was none. There was a stale scent of rabbit.

"Old burrow for a rabbit perhaps?" Quillflight breathed.

She narrowed her eyes. The darkness made her fur crawl. Roots from the roof of the burrow brushed her back fur and sent a shiver down her.

"It's fine," Quillflight mewed calmly. "This can be our den for now."

"Yeah, until we turn into rabbits." She teased.

Quillflight twitched his ears. "I'll go collect moss. And you can see the place."

Lightspark brushed her muzzle on Quillflight's shoulder affectionately. The last thing

she wanted was to be apart from him. "Let's both do it." She urged.

The two scrambled out of the burrow. Lightspark shook her pelt. The sun was setting a-

s they reached the other side of the forest, roars of monsters made Lightspark's tail twitched.

"Don't they ever shut up?" Lightspark blurted out, she immediately dropped her head in embarrassment.

"Who monsters?" Quillflight mewed, his eyes were bright.

"Yes!"

Quillflight shrugged. "If they weren't noisy we wouldn't know when they would come. Which would lead to more death to cats."

"True," Lightspark muttered.

Suddenly, he stopped. Lightspark looked up. She watched as Quillflight began to sink his claws into some moss that was stuck to a tree's roots.

Lightspark did the same. She padded over to a boulder and began to rip some of the moss, she rolled it in a tight ball so it could be easier to bring to their new home.

"Let's stop here." Quillflight meowed. "I'm starving. Also, we can leave the moss in the sun so it can dry off."

"Okay," Lightspark mumbled in a full mouth of moss.

She dropped it down on the forest floor as Quillflight picked it up to drop it on a sunny spot on a grass patch. Lightspark whipped around as she heard some crackles from behind her and dropped to a crouch.

Her jaws opened to taste the air mouse! Hunger gnawed inside her. She quickly stepped forward, the mouse's ears twitched but before it could run Lightspark killed it with a swift bite to the neck.

"You'll have to teach me how to hunt under trees," Quillflight purred in awe.

"It's easy, especially since this forest is like the one back home—old home." She correct-

ed herself quickly. "Anyways. Teach me how to hunt on the moor too!"

Quillflight cuffed Lightspark's ear gently.

"Of course mouse-brain!"
