Empty Chairs

Hope's POV

"HOPE" I hear Keegan's sister shout so I look up.

When I look up I see Sofija, Aurora, Kendall, and Kylie all walking towards me and the rest of the national team.

Myself and the national team are in some Hospital in San Diego waiting for news on Keegan.

"Hey." I say then I adjust my hold on Alex, who's asleep in my lap.

Alex cried herself to sleep.

"What's going on?" Sofija asks.

"Auntie Rory." Kida says and holds her hands out to Aurora

"Hi sweetheart." Aurora says then she picks up the eldest of the triplets.

Korra is asleep in Tobin's lap while Mal, Emily, Rose, Lindsey, and Sam play with Luka to keep him occupied.

"What's going on?" Sofija asks again as she hugs Julie.

"Keegan's in surgery." I say. "They have a lot of shrapnel to remove and they also need to check for internal bleeding."

"She got blown up and that's it?" Kendall asks.

"She's got some broken bones as well, but yes that's it."

"How?"

"She pulled a table over us." Julie says.

"Are you okay Babygirl?" Sofija asks her wife.

Julie nods then she puts her head in Sofija's neck.

"Is everybody else okay?" Aurora asks as Abby hugs her and Kida.

"Everyone else got out." Christen says.

"The FBI are investigating the bombing now." Ash says.

"When will we know anything?" Kylie asks as she and Kendall sit down.

"The FBI will be here after they finish at the hotel and hopefully the doctors will be out soon." I say.

"Hopey." I hear Alex whisper.

"Yes Babygirl?" I whisper then I kiss my wife's head.

"I'm hungry."

"Alright." I say then I look at the team. "Can one of you go get Alex something to eat?"

"I got it." Kelley says then she gets up and leaves the room.

"This isn't a dream is it?" Alex asks.

"Sadly not." I whisper then Alex nuzzles into my neck. "She's gonna be okay Lex."

"I don't want her to die." Alex mumbles.

"She won't leave us." I whisper.

"I didn't get to tell her I love her today."

"You will." I say then I tighten my hold on my wife.

Alex and I stay embraced until Kelley comes back with the food then Alex sits with her back to my chest and eats her food while I watch our kids.

"Family of Keegan Ibishi?" Some doctor says.

"We're her family." I say.

"She's..."

"GET THESE MOTHERFUCKING WIRES OFF OF ME."
