I looked over at Carlos with wide eyes. "Are you guys okay?" I asked El and they nodded. "I'm going ti go see what it was." I said getting out of the car. I walked to the road and saw a black and white border collie with blue eyes, wrapped in wire, bleeding. I gasped and walked back to Carlos. "There's an injured dog. Help me get it into the car." I said. I grabbed my jacket and Carlos helped me carry her to the back of the car. We laid her on my jacket and I sat with her. We drove off to the vet. I whispered comforting thigns to her, rubbing her ear. I looked into her blue eyes. "I need to cal lyou something..how about Sky?" I said and she licked my hand. We pulled into the vet and ran in. They took her away. I sat in the seats anxiuosly. Sky wasn't my dog...yet...but she was my responsibility and I and to make sure she got out of thsi alright.

An hour later the vet walked out. "Um Mrs. Pena?" He asked and I stood up. He smiled. "Your dog is doing great. A few stitches but she is doing fine." He told me and I smiled big. "Thanks! But um she isn't exactly my dog. We found her in the road...could we adopt her?" I asked looking at Carlos. Carlos smiled and nodded slowly. "Yes you may.Let me get the forms." He said. When he walked away Eleanor and Tyler cheered. "We're getting a puppy!" They said. "Do you guys like the name Sky?" I asked them and they nodded. "But there's one problem...the hotel doesn't allow dogs." Carlos said raising his hand like a student unsure about his answer. I glared at Carlos. "Then we'll sneak him in." I said. The vet came back with the papers and I filled them out. I handed them to the lady at the desk. A few minutes later someone came out with Sky on a leash. She held one paw, which was wrapped in an Ace Bandage, in the air as she walked. "Sky!" I said bending down and petting her. She barked quietly when I said her new name and I smiled. we left the vet and went to Pet Smart. We got a leash, collar, bed, food, bowls, treats, and toys. I also bought a duffel bag to hide everything in. When we got to the hotel I put Sky in Mason's stroller and put a blanket over him. we hurried inside, up the elavator, and into the room. We set up everything with Sky and I fell asleep with her on the couch.
