"I don't think he's let a single one in!" Y/n, Hannah, Susan, and Leanne were all sitting together watching the Gryffindor versus Slytherin quidditch match, where Ron Weasley was currently playing the game of his life.

Ron reached to make another spectacular save, and the non-Slytherin section of the crown went wild, chants of "Weasley, Weasley, Weasley!" began to break out and Ron pumped his fist in the air.

Y/N laughed, she found Ron to have such an interesting character and she could definitely see why Harry liked to spend time with him. Her thoughts of Harry led her to look up to where he was circling above the other players keeping up his search for the snitch. She'd played against Harry multiple times and knew what a skilled seeker he was, watching him play was truly fascinating.

After the match, which Gryffindor won of course, Y/N walked with her friends back toward the castle. Back in their common room they all gathered around the couches with some of them laying on the cushions on the floor. "I bet Gryffindor common room is absolutely mental right now," laughed Justin as he scooted over to make room for Y/N on the couch. She sat down and said, "Right? They win one game and won't shut up about it, can someone please remind them that if we beat Ravenclaw on Sunday we'll be ahead of them for the quidditch cup?"

The rest of the Hufflepuffs laughed and chorused their agreement. Their team had performed quite well the past two seasons and it was common to hear Hufflepuffs lamenting the fact that no one seemed to notice this. Hannah smirked at her and said, "Not that you'll mind Harry being in a good mood, huh Y/N?" Y/N blushed and noticed Justin shift uncomfortably. "We're just friends." She said and shot Hannah a scowl. Hannah just laughed before turning to Susan and saying "Sure, that's why he was staring at her across the Great Hall all through breakfast!"

Susan laughed and Y/N couldn't help but join in. She knew her friends were just teasing, and to be honest even she was beginning to wonder if maybe there could be something more with Harry. She enjoyed spending time with him so much though, and she would hate to ruin that over something she wasn't even sure of. Especially not after how quickly he'd asked her to the Christmas party "as friends."

"I'm hungry." She said, and it was only after she said this that she realized it was only her and Justin left in the common room, with everyone else having retreated off to bed. "Want to sneak to the kitchens and grab some food?" He asked, and Y/N noticed him casually place his arm around the back of the couch, if he moved it down a few inches it would be resting on her shoulder. She had wondered if Justin liked her all of last year, even wished that he did, but he'd never said anything. She found it mildly frustrating that he now seemed to be showing interest because he assumed Harry was as well. Was she only a good option of other boys liked her?

"Oh that's ok!" She said quickly, "I didn't realize how late it was, I think I'll head up to bed." Justin looked disappointed but didn't say anything, he wished Y/N a goodnight and then headed through the door to the boys dormitories.

She gave it a few minutes to make sure Justin wasn't coming back, and then grabbed her cloak from where it was hanging over the side of the couch. Y/N still had no plans of actually going to bed, she still had to review all the potions ingredient lists Draco had written out for her to study and there was no way she was going to on an empty stomach.

She exited the dormitories and and made the sort walk to the kitchen. She never worried about being caught out of her dormitory to go and get food, the kitchen was so close to the Hufflepuff common room it's like the founders of Hogwarts were practically asking for them to visit it.

After tickling the pear to reveal the handle and opening the door, Y/N entered the kitchen. It was mainly empty as there were no meals needing to be served to the Great Hall. Approaching the fire place Y/N waved to the small house elf sitting by the fire. "Hello Dobby!" She greeted cheerfully as the elf hopped up with a large smile on his face.

"Hello Miss Tonks here for some night studying snacks?" He asked. Y/N laughed. "Am I that predictable?" She said, kneeling down to give the house elf a hug. "It is good to be predictable if it means a trip to the kitchen to visit Dobby!" He said.

After chatting briefly with Dobby and gathering up the food that he had brought her, she thanked him and headed out of the kitchen to return to her common room. To her surprise she entered the the room and saw by the glowing light of the fire a figure sitting on the couch reading a book. Her stomach dropped when she realized it was Justin.

"Oh." He said, seeing the various food items she was holding in her hands. "Justin!" She said surprised, "I decided I wanted food after all, do you want some?" Y/N tried to sound normal, and not as awkward as she felt. "No that's ok, I'll go to bed." He said in an unpleasant tone, "maybe you can ask Harry instead." He stood quickly. "Justin that's not fair I-" Y/N began, but he had already shut the door to the boys dormitories behind him.
