"Boy you better smile!"
Dion POV
"Stop staring at me." I said laughing as I watched Carlo sip his coffee. "I'm not even doing nothing. I'm just trying to enjoy my coffee." He said smiling. "If you say so." I said as I continued to wipe the table down. I turned my attention to the door as a customer walked in. I quickly took her order before handing it off to Louie. When I turned around, Carlo was walking up to the counter. "How can I help you?" I said with a smile. "I would like to order a kiss with date for Friday." he said returning said gesture.
Bold, I like that. I raised my eyebrow in amusement. "Oh really?" "Yup." he said leaning closer to me. Chuckling, I met him the other half of the way and kissed him. "About the other thing, what time should I be ready?" "Hmmm. 8?" he said more of a question rather then a statement. "That's fine by me." I laughed. Looks like he was trying to be considerate of my work schedule, brownie points for him. "Dion." he said snapping me back to reality. "Hm?" I said as he laughed. "You didn't hear me?" he questioned as I shook my head no. "I was saying that I had to go and that I would call you later." he said as my face frowned a little.
Safe to say I was getting used to his presence. "OK." "Don't make that face, I'll call before the show starts." he said as I smiled. He quickly kissed me, catching me off guard. "That's because I wanted to. Now I got to move out of the way before this line gets any longer. See you later baby." he said as he turned to leave, not before gaining an "Aw" from everyone in the store, causing me to blush. So embarrassing. As soon as he moved of my view, I got a good look at how long the line really was. Perfect timing on his part.
"That was so sweet." Raul teased as he walked past me. "Not you too" I laughed balling a napkin up and throwing it at him. He caught it and laughed. Everyone around him laughed. "You guys are no help." I said shaking my head and helped the next customer. Once I was finished with the last customer, I took my break. Seems like it was perfect timing because my mom was calling me. "Good evening beautiful." "Aht aht don't give me that. When were you gonna tell me you had a boyfriend?" she said as I laughed. Thanks Dira. "Well we only made it official two nights ago." I laughed.
"Still, this is monumental. Here I was beginning to think you was gonna grow old with cats or something." she said as I shook my head. "Mom you're so embarrassing." "Technically those were your fathers words, I'm just repeating them." "Well let me correct that, both of you are embarrassing." I said as she laughed. "Speaking off Mr. Mystery man, where is he?" "You actually just missed him. He had to go to work." "What does he do?" I took a deep breath. "He's an exotic dancer." I blurted. Just rip the band aid off. "Oh wow, that's interesting." she said as I could hear the hesitation in her voice. "Trust me mom, I had a worse reaction but he calmed me down."
"He told me the background story of how he got in that predicament and it kinda made sense to me. I had to swallow a tough pill but I can honestly say it was worth it." I said as I smiled thinking about our date. "Well, I can't argue with my baby's happiness. I can't wait to talk to him." she said as I smiled. We continued talking about random things before both of our breaks were over. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. I can't wait to see you when you get back." "Same here. I love you and I hope the rest of your day goes well." "Call me later. Gimme kisses." "Mom." I groaned.
"Kisses or we'll both be late returning to work." she's so childish. Sighing, I made kissy sounds. "My baby loves me. Alright talk to you later sweetie." "Talk soon crazy." I said laughing before hanging up.
"Man we were packed today." I said to Raul as I wiped the newly formed beads of sweat from my forehead. "It's all thanks to you. Our social media presence has helped as word of mouth spread like wildfire. People clearly liked what they saw as our following has been increasing daily." "I told you, it's all about presentation." I laughed but he did have a point. He had to hire someone else to help with the work load. I didn't mind though as it gave him more time to manage the books and orders. "Glad to have been of help." I said going to the punch machine and clocking out. "Get home safe and I'll see you bright and early tomorrow." he smiled as I waved.
