"I have to find you"
Dion POV
"Hey- what's wrong?" Dira said as I walked in the door. I sharply cut my eyes at her. "You happened." "What did I do?" "Dira what didn't you do? You couldn't wait until I got home to discuss that?" "I'm sor-" "Don't say anything else. Please don't." I said before turning around and walking into my room. As soon as I touched my bed, the tears started to fall. I was planning on telling Carlo about my departure when we had our date. I honestly didn't think about how fast the time flew.
To make matters worse, all of that stuff happened to him, which made it an even worse time to talk to him. Yes I should've told him earlier but I didn't think we'd even get this far and now that we were, no time seemed like the right time. Maybe it was me being selfish and wanting the moment to last, I don't know. I was interrupted by my phone ringing. "Hello- baby what's wrong?" my mom said as I answered. I tried to wipe the tears away before answering. "I-it's Carlo." "What happened?" I finished wiping my tears and cleared my throat.
"Well me and him was supposed to go on a date yesterday but her got mugged but a shady client. I spent the whole day helping him out. Dira called this morning while I was making breakfast saying she told Joaquin about her leaving. She asked if I told Carlo, he overheard that and further questioned me about it. Once I confirmed that I was leaving, that set him off. He felt like I was leading him on and that he was wasting his time. He wouldn't even let me explain myself before slamming the door in my face." I said shaking my head
"Baby look at me." she said as I lifted my head up. "Why didn't you tell him?" "I didn't think we would get this far and I really started taking a liking to him." "There it is." she said smiling at me. "I understand the hurt your feeling right now, it's no stranger to me. While I do think you should've said something sooner, I also can see why you didn't. Dira's timing couldn't have been anymore wrong but she was vulnerable and needed someone to talk to. I understand why she called you seeing as you two were in the same situation. Don't be too mad at her. As for Carlo, it looks like he saved you the heartbreak." she said as I sighed.
"It may take some getting used to but don't stop living it up. If he wants to talk, then he will come to you. For now though, I think it's best that you give him the space. You honestly both need it at this point." she said as I continued to wipe my tears. "Look at my handsome baby boy." she said smiling at me, causing me to smile in return. We continued to talk for a minute before she hung up to get ready for work tomorrow. As soon as I put my phone on the charger, there was a knock on my door. "Can I come in?" Dira said as she held two bowls in her in. "Sure." I said grabbing the bowl and making room for her.
I turned on the TV as we ate in silence for a minute. "Dion?" "Hm?" "I just want to apologize for what I did." "No need, I understand why you did it. I shouldn't have had the phone on speaker but I was cooking." I said shrugging my shoulders. "How'd he take it?" "The same way Joaquin did. He didn't." I said as she let out a breath. "He slammed the door in my face D." I added making her jump up. "I'm so sorry Dion." she said setting her bowl aside to hug me. "It's cool. You know what they say, when on door closes, another one opens." I chuckled. She wiped a tear from my face, something that I didn't notice or feel.
"Quin told me to never call him and that I was toxic as hell for what I did." "Wow." I said holding her. "It's like you said, it was never supposed to go this far." she said sighing. "Well on the bright side, we'll be leaving here with no regrets." "You're right about that. Sad how things ended but that's just what it is. I had fun though." She said as I smiled. "Me too. We'll find better, this I'm sure." I reassured. Maybe love isn't so bad after all. "Hey D?" "Yeah?" "I love you." "I love you too kid. You have terrible timing sometimes but I still love you." I said as I playfully pinched her.
