Areum choked on her soup. "What?" She said coughing.

Nari rolled her eyes. "You heard me. Otherwise you wouldn't be choking on your soup right now."

"Well I could say the same for you and Haechan."

Her face turned slightly red. "Yeah, well. He's a nice guy."

"Uhuh," Areum teased.

"Don't try to change the subject to me! We're talking about you and Jaemin!"

She sighed. "What's there to talk about?"

Nari looked at her, offended. "ExcUSE ME? What's there to talk about?? Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact that he gave you a necklace out of nowhere and put it around your neck in front of all his friends!"

"Right..." Areum ate her soup. "It wasn't out of nowhere, we made a deal."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever- deal my ass," Nari waved her hand around. "Well how do you explain the constant texting that night?"

She looked at Nari and frowned. "What do you mean? I wasn't texting him that night."

"Don't lie to me! I saw you texting on your phone and Jaemin's phone went off everytime you sent a text!"

"But I wasn't texting him."

"Then who were you texting?"

"My sugar daddy."

Nari went silent and stared at Areum, blinking.

"Nari..?"

"You're not lying to me, are you? It's too much of a coincidence... His phone went off everytime you sent a text."

Areum sighed. "I'm not lying, I wouldn't lie to you Nari. You can even check my messages if you don't believe me but really, I was texting my sugar daddy when his phone was going off..." She trailed off. "It was probably all his fans commenting and stuff on his account, at least that's what Jeno said. So I figured it really was just a coincidence."

Nari had her eyebrows creased and lips pursed, deep in thought. "Okay, I know I'm going to sound crazy but hear me out."

Areum nodded as an indication to speak.

"What if... Jaemin is your sugar daddy?"

After hearing those words Areum looked down at her soup, mixing it around with her spoon.

"Honestly... That's what I thought last night too after I experimented but. It seemed too ridiculous. Plus the fan thing made sense- he's famous so of course he'd get a million notifications a day."

"Experimented? What do you mean you experimented?" Nari asked.

"Well I noticed what you noticed. That whenever I sent a text, his phone went off. It isn't the first time it's happened too... The very first time it happened was when we talked together at Cafe 127. I had sent a text to my sugar daddy and his phone went off there too."

Nari sat there, intently listening as her friend explained.

"And last night, my experiment," Areum began. "Was to send a text to my sugar daddy and see if Jaemin's phone would ring right after. And it did."

She looked up from her bowl and saw Nari's mouth parted in shock.

Areum pursed her lips. "But then another notification ringed right after so I don't think it could've been my text..."

"You don't?!" Nari yelled. She shook her head. "There is no way that all of that happened and it was pure coincidence. I refuse to fucking believe that. Let me see your phone."

Areum sped-walked to her room and back, grabbing her phone and handing it to Nari.
Nari didn't need to ask for the passcode since she already knew it. She opened up Instagram.

Areum watched as her friend clicked through her phone, her eyes widening.

"What? What did you find?" Areum asked.

"na_j00."

"Um, yeah that's the sugar daddy's username. Why would you-"

"Na and J as in Na Jaemin. 00 as the year he was born," Nari said, nodding.

Areum grabbed her phone out of Nari's hand. "But his account is private and barely has any followers? How does he get so many likes daily-"

"It's probably a second account. The one he's messaging on as your sugar daddy is a personal account, and the one that he gets hundreds of likes on everyday is a public social media account," Nari explained. "It would make sense why Renjun is following the private account too."

"But how can we be sure? I mean, all of it really could be a coincidence, although at this point it seems unlikely."

Nari smirked mischieviously. "Looks like we're gonna have to develop a plan."
