Make A Wish | Na Jaemin

"I'm so sorry Areum!"

"It's okay Nari, don't worry about it. It's just lunch and you need time to work on that project."

"I don't deserve you! Okay I gotta go, group's here, bye!"

"Bye." Areum ended the call.

"Who was that?"

She turned around and saw Jaemin with his hands in his pockets walking towards her.

"Nari. She said she can't make it to lunch today because she has a group project she needs to work on."

He nodded. "Let's head to the others then."

Areum and Jaemin arrived together at the group's usual table.
Jaemin sat in his seat, however Areum was left standing as she looked at the girl who was sitting in her usual spot next to Renjun.

Renjun looked up at Areum, widening his eyes a bit. "Oh Areum, this is... my girlfriend, Hyunjin."

Hyunjin looked at Areum and smiled sweetly. "It's nice to finally meet you! Renjun has told me so much about you."

Areum's eyes shifted from the girl to Renjun. "Has he now? How nice. I hope he hasn't said anything to scare you," she joked.

"Oh no! He's only said nice things about you. My Renjun wouldn't do such a thing." Hyunjin looked over at her boyfriend with heart eyes and he smiled at her.

My. Areum wanted to gag.

Renjun turned his attention back to Areum. "You don't mind Hyunjin sitting here, do you? I know it's your usual spot but..."

"Not at all! The seat's all yours," she faked a smile.

"Thanks Areum, you're the best." Renjun said, turning back to his girlfriend. She wanted to scoff at his words.

"Areum."

She looked at Jaemin and saw him pulling out an empty seat next to him. She sat down and muttered a small 'thanks'. However she instantly regretted it when she saw the couple sitting directly across from her, suddenly having the urge to stab her eyes out.

"I love your outfit Areum! It's cute!" Hyunjin complimented.

"Thanks, Jaemin picked it out," she replied.

Renjun's eyes flickered back from Areum to Jaemin, before going back to his girlfriend.
For the next few minutes Areum silently picked at her food, hardly eating it. She had lost her appetite after seeing the couple in front of her.

She was jealous no doubt. Areum hated this feeling and wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible. She wanted her feelings for Renjun to vanish like they never existed in the first place.
Areum had mentally decided that if he was happy with someone that wasn't her, then she would be happy for him. She didn't want her own feelings to interfere with his happiness.

Jaemin noticed Areum's behavior and he snaked an arm over her waist. She looked at him in shock and was about to protest but then saw how stern and serious his face was.

"Jaemin-"

"Why aren't you eating? Do you need me to feed you?"

She shook her head. "I'm not hungry."

He scooped a spoonful of rice. "Please eat a little for me. I don't want you to starve," he pouted.

Her brows creased. "Jaemin why-"

"Renjun is watching," he whispered into her ear.

Areum took a quick side glance at Renjun and indeed- he was looking at the two. But he instantly looked away to try and make it unobvious.
She looked back at Jaemin whose face was now very close to hers, pouting with pleading eyes.
Areum slowly opened her mouth and he fed her the food.

"Good girl." Jaemin smiled.

Her face instantly heated up at his words and she avoided his gaze as she chewed the food.
Areum could feel Jaemin's gaze on her but she didn't dare to look at him. His thumb that was still on the side of her waist was now gently rubbing her side, and she couldn't help but to instantly melt.

"J-Jaemin," she breathed.

"Hm?"

"Stop that." She whispered and glared.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He smiled cheekily. "Say aaa~." Jaemin brought another spoonful of food to Areum's mouth, feeding her.

Although Hyunjin was talking to Renjun, his eyes did not miss this exchange between his two friends.
He was confused, and he couldn't help but to wonder why they were sitting so close to each other.
Jaemin lifted his head up and caught Renjun staring at them. He had the urge to smirk and pull Areum closer to him but instead, he gave a friendly smile.

Renjun could only return a half-smile, not sure why he was feeling this way.
He turned his attention back to his girlfriend and shook the feeling off.
