(A/N: this is probably the longest chapter I've written yet)
Trigger warning: slight harassment
*** = start and stop
I woke up fairly early the next morning as the ball began at noon, and we all had to take a ride to the building downtown holding the ball.
All of the soldiers attending the ball got ready, and I jumped In the coach with my friends, and we went on our way.
"Such a lovely dress, Y/N," Alexander smiled.
The other boys smiled and nodded.
"Thank you, it was my mother's," I politely responded.
Not a single moment went by during the ride without our lively chatter and loud laughter. As we rode into town, the people always glared at us as we passed by.
Finally, we arrived at the venue and hopped out of the coach. Snippets of conversation and the I'm-having-a-good-time laughter flooded into the street from the large, beautiful opened front doors.
I linked arms with John as we made our way inside, but I turned around when I heard a commotion behind us.
"Come here, Laffy Taffy," Hercules was wiggling his eyebrows and trying to link arms with Lafayette like us.
"Hey! You will mess up my hair!" Laf was able to dodge each time, and eventually, Hercules gave up when he spotted the alcohol.
"BOOZE!" The two boys screamed. Their eyes widened, and they grinned as they ran towards the table filled with a variety of wines and beers.
"You wouldn't mind if I got a drink real quick, Y/N, hmmm? It has been forever!" John asked as he began walking backward.
I nodded as I turned around to see Aaron Burr walking into the building. I quickly made my way as best as I could in my heels over to him.
"Miss Y/N!" He grinned.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Burr, sir!" I smiled back.
A loud noise from the side of the room made our heads whirl around to see Alexander standing over a broken beer mug. I stifled a laugh as he quickly ran away from the site so he wouldn't get kicked out by security.
"How does someone like Hamilton go on and on and grow into more of a phenomenon. I mean seriously! Watch this obnoxious, arrogant, loud-mouthed bother, be seated at the right hand of the father!" Aaron complained.
"I guess it is true Washington hired Alexander right on site. But you know what? He still wants to fight, not write," I told him.
He sighed, "I'll have to admit, Hamilton's skill with the quill is undeniable. But you know what we have in common, Y/N?" He nudged my arm.
"What do you have in common?" I asked, not knowing where this was going,
"We're reliable with the ladies!" Burr said as Alex and John jumped in with him as he said, 'ladies'.
I did a double-take. What. The. Heck. This must be some sixth sense shiz.
"There are so many to deflower!" Burr sang.
Ok, well, that's disrespectful.
They kept prancing around the ballroom.
"Ladies!"
"Looks proximity to power!"
"Ladies!"
Burr came back over to where I was standing, "They delighted and distracted while Martha Washington named her feral tomcat after him." He pointed to Alexander.
