When Christmas was upon them, Rosie had to travel on the Hogwarts express in silence, not wanting to talk as the year following seemingly sucked the life force out of her like a dementor.
She only listened to Luna speaking dreamily to Neville and Brooklyn, who were confused as to what she was going on about, but they nodded along anyway.
Ginny had decided to go sit with her newest boyfriend—Michael? Was it? Rosie didn't really pay attention as her time was usually filled up with other things, that or blocking her father whom only seemed to get stronger daily, the strain on the future was thinning away slowly.
The compartment door opened and shut, and a sad looking Hermione came walking on, shutting the door gently before she took the seat beside Rosie, resting her head upon the girls shoulder as she finally let go of the breathe she had been holding since she had seen the heart on the other compartment.
"Boys are stupid" Brooklyn scoffed opposite the two girls in silence, and Neville let out a small sound of hurt, which caused her harsh facade to disappear as she turned to him quickly. "I'm not talking about you Neville, you're a gentleman not those two twits in the other place"
Neville only nodded slightly, before Brooklyn let out an exasperated sigh and collapsed her head onto Nevilles lap, who's hand seemed to began brushing her hair gently with his fingers.
"Wonder how Christmas will be with dad, he's often more hyper during Christmas" Luna cut into the compartments weird tension, which wasn't necessarily good nor bad. "What are you guys doing?"
"Spending Christmas with Nev, of course" Brooklyn grinned, Neville just nodding along as he smiled down at he'd as well.
"Just normal traditions with my parents" Hermione mumbled out, her head not drifting from Rosie's shoulder.
Rosie, however, shrugged. As she didn't really have a permanent home, she figured she'd just go see Sirius and Remus and see where it went from there. "Staying with a few friends, I guess"
The compartment filled with another silence, not at all being uncomfortable for anyone, it actually seems to be a comforting silence as it was one of the only moments they had where it wasn't chaotic, and they weren't glancing over their shoulder in case a death eater was there.

When Rosie had arrived to the station, she was certainly not expecting Remus, Melanie and Sirius all there waiting for her. Melanie holding a glittery sigh with hers and Harry's name on it.
But, she let a small smile pass on her face as she walked along to the group that was slowly becoming her family, Remus being the first to reach forward and squeeze the life out of her.
"Moony, careful!" Sirius warned dramatically, prying Remus's arms off of Rosie, Remus glaring when he finally pulled away. "Hello Rosie, I'm sure you know that I'll be having a word with Harry's aunt"
Rosie didn't speak to Sirius, she just returned the favour with an excited grin, wiggling slightly on the spot to show how she couldn't wait my longer. And Remus smiled as he noticed how comfortable she had gotten with them.
"Sirius?" Harry questioned in confusion, stepping next to Rosie, as he peered at all the adults with his eyebrows furrowed, the sigh very much obvious.
"Harry! Just the man I'm after, let's go have a word with your aunt" Sirius cheered, wrapping his arm around Hardy, before he walked him over to the platforms exit, knowing they'd be complaining on the other side.
"We better head home and wait for them to get back" Remus smiled down at Rosie, "Lennon has been quiet anxious without you, being in a new house and all"
(A/N, Rosie's cat hasn't been mentioned for ages as the cat really hasn't fit into many scenes, but, she actually left Lennon with Remus when she's at school, but Luna actually looked after the cat in fifth year as Rosie was busy)
Rosie froze slightly, new house?
"We can't bother Siri's and Melanie forever now, can we?" Remus smiled gently, holding his hands out to take Rosie's luggage, and she let him. "Now, Tonks is waiting for us"
They zapped away hastily and arrived on the outside of a cozy looking cottage, that Rosie almost sighed at the sight of, it was lovely.
"Rosie!" A new voice cheered, and Rosie was soon tackled into a hug by a woman with bright yellow hair, showing that she was happy, Rosie let out a laugh as they pulled back. "Wait until you see how Remus decorated your room, only took him eleven tries"
"Because—" Remus went to cut in.
"Because it had to be perfect for Rosie" Tonks cut in, sending him a playful glare before she turned back to Rosie and began to tug her towards the house. "You'll love it!"
Walking through the house felt strange to Rosie, as she had never really lived somewhere properly, but they had said that this was now her home, where she actually had her own bedroom.
"Okay, hear me out..." Remus said slowly as they reached the outside of the room, "the furniture is very boring, but I actually had the ceiling enchanted"
"Enchanted?" Rosie questioned in confusion, Tonks practically bouncing as she still held Rosie's hands.
Remus pressed the door open slowly and Rosie gasped as she caught the room, it was simple furniture but the delicate light blue paint on the walls mixed with the enchanted ceiling and bookshelves certainly made up for it.
"Heard you were interested in Astrology" Tonks stated, a teasing tone in her voice. "So Remus spent months trying to figure it all out"
"Thank you" Rosie finally spoke, after she had observed the room with a slow twirl, her eyes reached the pair stood in doorway.
"One more thing" Remus added sheepishly, and Tonks rubbed his arm soothingly before she walked off to their shard bedroom, Rosie being left confused with a shy Remus. "The paper on the desk.."
Rosie walked over to the piece of paper on the desk, opening it gently as her eyes skimmed over the words, and she suddenly felt as though she could cry as she turned to Remus with wide eyes. "You want to adopt me?"
"Yes" Remus nodded shyly, rubbing the back of his head slightly, the ordeal causing the cat on the bed to lift its head at the two. "I-If that's what you would like, I-It's up to you"
Rosie just hugged Remus to her, nodding gently against his chest as he hugged her back just as tightly, Rosie beginning to cry against him as he soothes her slowly and rubbed her back.
