his eyes widened slowly, as he felt offended. "what?" 

"you hurt jooheon for so many years and you keep doing it, i can't believe i was so blind for so long kihyun, you're really the worst-

"i don't have time for this boki. i had big expectations for you. but you're not angry at me, you're angry at yourself for realizing we're the same, deep down you know it as much as i do." he said approaching her, caressing her chin and smiling. 

jooheon pulled her back and pushed kihyun away. "get out. leave, now!" he exclaimed angry. 

he laughed as he walked back to his car. "i am willing to talk whenever you want... or whenever you come around and truly accept yourself boki. you have my number." he said and winked, before getting inside his car and closing the door behind. 

they both watched kihyun drive fast away from the restaurant and silence. jooheon breathed out flames next to boki. she turned to look at him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"he won't bother us anymore." she said softly. his eyes met hers for a second and both knew that wasn't true. 

kihyun was a stubborn guy and maybe he lost tonight but that didn't mean he wouldn't be in the picture anymore. "i highly doubt it." 

"listen, let's not think about it okay?" she stood in front of him and reached out for his hand. he let her do it, he didn't move an inch. instead, he focused on her cute expressions. 

"you were listening?" he said pointing inside the restaurant. she hesitated before answering but thought jooheon deserved to know the truth always.

she just nodded. "i am sorry, i didn't mean it but... he said some pretty disturbing things jooheon-

"i don't wanna talk about it. please." his eyes begged her to not do it. and she wasn't going to make him feel miserable.  of course, she was not going to insist in the matter.

"of course." 

they looked at each other in silence. "you lied to him tonight." she finally gathered all the courage she had. jooheon immediately knew what she was talking about. 

"just to take him off of our backs. call it a white lie kumquat. it's not that big of a deal." he said taking a step back and reaching for his backpack. 

boki stared at him with confused but surprised eyes. "where are you going?" he looked at her with sad eyes, even ashamed. 

"my mom called me... apparently she needs something from me. your mother gave me the day free tomorrow." 

her heart raced at the thought of losing jooheon, but a second later, after thinking about it. it was only one day of permit and he looked sincere, different from kihyun. 

she nodded. "okay... you'll be back the day after tomorrow, right?" 

he smiled to her, a kind of sweet but sad smile and finally nodded. "of course. also our vacations end and we need to get back to college. don't worry. i'll be here." 

"alright. be safe." her voice was sweet and in that moment, she looked so pretty it made jooheon's heart race. he wanted to say so many things, things that were stuck in his chest since many months ago. 

but he couldn't.

situation with boki was difficult. complicated. 

she had been hi step's brother gilfriend for months. he also knew they had been each other's first loves, from school. kihyun and boki. both. even if they didn't know back then, they realized it now that they were adults.
