smart. || tsukishima kei x reader

i walked into my house and went to the kitchen. i brought the food and heated it up. i take small sips from (f/d) as i scroll through my phone. i grab the food from the microwave and grab it. i sit down on the couch and turn on the tv.

*ding*

i look over at my phone and see a new text message.

ah, not much. i'm just eating food while watching tv ( ◠‿◠ )

i smile and put my phone down. i wash up my plate and head upstairs to my room to finish my homework. i put on my earbuds and grab the papers from my bag. it was really nice of tsukishima to bring me my backpack considering his attitude. i work on my homework for a while when i hear my phone ring.

"hello?" i say as i pick up the phone.

"i hear you left tokyo." a deep voice says.

"w-who are you?" i stutter.

"i can't believe you forgot me already (n/n)." they laugh.

i freeze. no one else calls me that, i knew exactly who this was and i did not want to. i try to choke down my tears as the memories start flooding back.

"w-why can't you leave me alone?!" i cry out.

"(n/n).. you can't run away from me. i'll always be a part of you and i know you'll eventually come running back to me. you love me." he taunts.

i couldn't take it any longer.

"i hate you! i hate you more than anything in the world!" i scream as i cry uncontrollably, "you hurt me so much. i'd die before i come back to you."

i hang up and block the number. i try to control my breathing as i feel my throat closing up. my hands and legs are shaking. i sit down in the corner of my room and cover my ears with my hands.

eventually i doze off and wake up to a buzzing sound. i groan and get up.

shit. what time is it? i quickly grab my phone from my desk to check the time.

7:50am

i sigh in relief. i still had time. i look at my notifications and see a bunch from kuroo.

hi sorry i slept a little late last night.
i would never ignore u :((

as i waited for kuroo's reply, i contemplated whether i should tell him what happened last night for not. before i could check my phone, kuroo called me.

"(f/n)?!" he shouted.

"hi..!" i replied.

"god you scared me. are you okay? you literally never sleep in. did you and that oikawa guy do something?!" he yells through the phone.

"what? no! it's just that i was up late.. studying..!" i lie.

"you better not be lying." he scoffs.

"i'm not you rooster head." i laugh.

"whatever. anyways, you're gonna be late to school silly." kuroo chuckles.

"alright, bye!" i say.

"bye."

i hang up and head the bathroom. i wash my face and apply some concealer to cover the bruise. i put on some more light makeup and brush my hair. i throw on my uniform and put on some knee high socks. i head downstairs to get my breakfast and thankfully i don't see my parents. i quickly make some toast and fry some eggs. i check the time and see that it's 8:15am.

"shoot i need to hurry up." i groan as i quickly stuff the food in my mouth. i pour myself some coffee and dash out of my house. i run out my house and quickly run back realizing i forgot to lock the door. as i'm locking the door, i notice a little letter by the potted in plant. i grab and walk out of my house gates. i carefully scan the envelope and see that it was stamped with a heart. before i can open it i hear someone call my name.

"(l/n)!" the person calls out.

i turn around to see yamaguchi and tsukishima.

"oh hi guys!" i smile. they start to walk with me.

"i thought you'd be at school earlier ms. smarty pants." tsukishima scoffs.

"i slept in today. i almost left the house without locking it too." i laugh.

"what do you have there?" yamaguchi asks, staring at the envelope in my hand.

"what is that? a love letter?~" tsukishima teases.

"w-what? no! i just found this outside my door-! that's all.." i stutter.

"why does it have a heart stamp?" yamaguchi and tsukishima snicker.

"who knows. maybe it's a love letter for me!~" i smirk.

"pfft. as if anyone would fall for you." tsukishima scoffs.

"h-hey! i've had plenty of boyfriends before blondie!" i shout at him, sticking my tongue out. it's not like i was lying, it's just that they weren't too successful.

"how surprising." tsukishima says with a fake shocked face.

"why don't you open it?" yamaguchi asks.

"maybe later." i giggle and stuff the envelope in my backpack.

"i was quite curious to see what it was." yamaguchi states.

"i guess i'll just have to leave you in suspense!~" i tease as i walk into the school.
