[Ice Age] Diego x Reader

Y/n POV:

It was morning again and we had traveled all night. Me, Manny, Sid and the baby walked the same distance while Diego walked far in front of us. When he walked to the top of the mountain we didn't see him anymore so we walked a little faster. The baby seemed to have fun as he spun around Manny's back and climbed over his head, the baby looked at me and started giggling sweetly.

"Diego?" I asked in a loud voice because we didn't see him, but then when we walked up the mountain I saw that he had stopped and then he ran to us.

"Hey! Great news. I found a shortcut!" Diego said as he ran to us. Then Manny stopped and it made the baby fall along his trunk but luckily Manny grabbed him.

"What do you mean, shortcut?" Manny asked and put the baby back on his head.

"I mean faster than the long way around." Diego explained with a grin.

"Ow! I know what a shortcut is!" Manny said painfully as the baby climbed on his face and the baby's foot hit Manny's eye. Manny in turn got enough and lifted the baby on my back, the baby went to lie on my back and hugged me tightly.

"Look. Either we slip through there and beat the humans to Glacier Pass, or we take the long way and miss 'em." Diego explained to us.

"Umm Diego, do you mean through there?" I asked because I wouldn't like to go to the caves because, you know, because of my past.

"Yes, I mean we go through the cave and reach the humans just in time." Diego explained and turned to look at me.

"What do you take us for?" Manny asked because he suspected Diego could lead us into a trap, he wouldn't do that, right?

"Manny, this time Tomorrow, you could be a free Mammoth." Diego said with a smirk on his face and then they looked at me and the baby and continued, "Or a nanny. Personally, I never get tired of Peekaboo." Then he looked back to Manny and waited his response.

"Hey, guys. Hey, guys. Check this out." Sid's voice said and we turned to look at him and he had two icicles in his hands. He then put both on his neck and imagined that one icicle would have pierced him. Then he began to growl and pretended to be dead.

"Sid, the Tiger found a shortcut." Manny told Sid as he walked over to us. Then Sid looked up at the snow and ice on top of the mountain and turned to us.

"No, thanks. I choose life." Sid said and began to retreat but Diego came his way.

"Then I suggest you take the shortcut." Diego said and I, for my part, got closer to them before anything more serious could happen, you never know about these two.

"Guys, easily, okay?" I asked as I noticed how Diego was starting to be annoyed by Sid's disobedience.

"Are you threatening me?" Sid asked and this made Diego snap at him.

"Move, sloth!" Diego growled and we heard his voice echo around us. Then we heard how... oh no.

Suddenly the ice on top of the mountain began to crack and then fall directly onto us. I felt how the baby's hold on me tightened, he was scared.

"Way to go, Tiger." Sid said and patted Diego's head.

"Quick! Inside!" I shouted and we all started running. Me and the baby were the first, almost next to us was Diego, then Manny and Sid were the last to get to safe. When we were in the cave we heard voices above, we looked up and saw how big and sharp icicles were shaking and almost falling. We all froze in place and waited for the vibration to stop. Then when all the snow had dripped down and the icicles stopped shaking, we all sighed in relief.
