[Ice Age] Diego x Reader

Chapter 9.

As I was taking a step forward again, I saw in my mind a vision of me and Y/n, we were in a cave and that was the moment she told me about her own family, then I heard in my mind that she was saying,

"You know, hot shot, I trust you. I know it's crazy because we just met but, I trust you."

Then my mind just started to hear her say,
"I trust you..."

I thought about it and I should have told them about this in the cave! This is wrong, I can't do that.

Y/n POV:

"Hey, Diego! You frozen back there?" Manny asked and we turned to look at Diego. He thought about something again and suddenly he ran quickly to us.

"Get down!" Diego shouted as he ran to us.

"What?" Manny asked.

"Diego, what's wrong?" I asked anxiously.

"Shh!" Diego silenced us and looked around. Okay, I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared even a little bit at the moment.

"Get down and follow me." Diego said and I looked at him with a questioning look.

"Diego, what's going on?" I asked and went a little closer to him.

"At the bottom of Half Peak-... there's an ambush waiting for you." Diego said and looked back at the ground... what ?!

"What?" Sid asked in amazement.

"What do you mean, ambush?" Manny asked and I, for my part, took a step back,

"D-Diego? Y-You set us up?" I asked sadly but also angry. I can't believe he did this to us!

"Y/n, I- It was my job! I was supposed to get the baby, but then-" Diego explained back and looked at me but for my part I couldn't look at him now.

"You brought us home for dinner." Manny said and he didn't sound happy.

"That's it. You're out of the herd!" Sid yelled and kept the baby close to himself.

"Diego, I- I Trusted you!" I yelled at him and because he was lying, and what is happening to us now, is my fault because I trusted him, I trusted that he could not do anything like that.

"Y/n, I know and I'm sorry-" Diego started but this time Manny interrupted him.

"No, you're not. Not yet." Manny said and pushed Diego against the wall with his tusks.

"Listen, I can help you." Diego said as Manny held him on the wall.

"Y/n, Sid, stay close. We can fight our way out!" Manny said and kept Diego on the wall even more and didn't loosen his grip.

"You can't! The pack's too strong. You have to trust me." Diego said and I looked up at him.

"Trust you?! How could I ever trust you again?!" I snapped at him.

"Because I'm your only chance." Diego said truthfully. It was true, there was no way we could defeat a pack of sabers.

"Manny, Diego is right. There is no way we can win without him..." I said and Manny thought for a moment, then he took off his grip on Diego and Diego fell to the ground. Then he turned to us.

"Okay, here's our plan." Diego said and we listened intently.

Third Person POV:

"Surprise!" Manny said and threw a tree over the three sabers with his tusks so that it made them fall and fly over the edge of the cliff. Good for them, the drop was not too high.
