Camila POV
I woke up and the first thing I saw was Shawn who was still sleeping peacefully. I looked at him for a few moments admiring how perfect he looked without even trying. I kissed his cheek and got out of bed trying to not wake him up during the process.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was 8am so I decided to make some breakfast. But before I did that, I went to check on Riley.
Right as I walked to her, she started to wake up. I picked her up and walked with her in the kitchen.
,,You hungry, baby? You want some banana?" I asked and she bubbled, so I took it as a yes.
I cut the banana in small pieces so that it was easier for her to eat. I placed Riley in the baby chair that Shawn and I bought a few weeks ago and she started eating the banana pieces. I also gave her a few cereals and she ate them too.
While she was eating, I started preparing the breakfast. I made some toast and coffee for everyone and put all that on the table, so when everyone wakes, we can eat.
,,Mhhhh! What smells so good?" I heard Shawn's voice from behind as I was putting the coffees on the table.
,,The breakfast." I said as I turned around to look at him.
,,You made breakfast?" He asked, put his hands on my waist and pulled me closer to him.
,,Yep! I woke up pretty earlier, so I made myself useful. By the way. Good morning!"
,,Morning..." He said and pressed a soft kiss on my lips.
,,Get a room." We heard Manny from behind and I felt so embarrassed. My cheeks grew pink and I hid behind Shawn.
,,Morning to you too, dad." Shawn said and chuckled lightly.
,,Morning, big guy. Morning, Mila. And morning, princess!" Manuel said and then walked to Riley and kissed the top of her head.
She giggled lightly and Manuel picked her up and played with her for a few seconds until Karen walked in the room too.
,,Morning, everyone." She said with a smile.
I noticed that Karen and Manuel were changed in daily clothes, but Shawn and I were still in our pajamas. I wasn't even in pajamas! I was only in his T-shirt and a pair of shorts that you couldn't see because the T-shirt was covering them.
,,Morning. The breakfast is ready. Y'all can start eating I'll just go and get changed..." I said a little embarrassed and then walked quickly in the bedroom to put a pair of jeans and one of Shawn's hoodies on.
,,You should have woken me up. We could've done the breakfast together." Shawn said as he suddenly entered the room.
,,You were looking so peaceful and cute. I just couldn't." I said and he chuckled.
,,Love the hoodie. Is it new?" He asked with a smirk.
,,I don't know. Is it new?" I asked and he chuckled again.
,,It's not, but it's my favorite. So take care of my baby."
,,You are letting me wear your favorite?" I asked surprise.
Guys never let women wear their favorite. Like all guys I ever dated until Shawn, would make me take it off. I can’t blame them. It's like a guy would want to wear my favorite high heels. It's not like they would do that, but you know what I mean.
,,Yeah.... Why not? Isn't that a thing?" He asked as he started to get changed too.
,,Well most guys don't let girls wear their favorite. But once again I see why you are part of that rare men species." I said and he laughed at my words.
,,I never let a girl wear it besides you, but it's not like any of those girls meant anything to me like you do. Anyways it's just a hoodie. You can take whatever shirt or hoodie or sweatshirt or whatever is in that closet." He said and I laughed lightly at his words.
,,So that means I can go shopping in your closet?" I asked with a smile.
,,You can go shopping in my closet if that's what you want." He said while he was still laughing lightly.
,,I would tell you that you can do the same, but it's not...really possible. Everything there is WAY too small for you." I said and we both started to laugh.
,,Agreed, but let's go eat that stunning looking breakfast that you made 'cause I'm sooooooo hungry." He said and we did so.
,,So what are the plans for today?" Manuel asked.
,,I thought about something really cute!" I said and everyone was waiting for me to go on. ,,We're gonna make a picnic in Central Park!" I said excited.
,,That's a really cute idea, Mila!" Karen said with a smile.
,,Oh yes! I missed picnics!" Shawn said excited.
,,Me too. Nina and I used to make picnics every summer. It was always so cute!" I said with a smile.
It was so good to be able to talk about Nina with a smile. I was still missing her and there were days I couldn't stop crying over her, but I started to accept the reality.
,,We were going on picnics pretty often too." Shawn said looking at his mom and dad and they both nodded in agreement.
,,It will be so fun!" I said excited like a kid and everyone smiled at me, but I could see some sadness in Karen's and Manuel's eyes and Shawn was just looking at me with pure joy and excitement.
,,What are we taking with us at the picnic?" Shawn asked excited.
,,I hoped that you'll ask that. I already prepared everything. We just need to make a stop at my apartment."
,,Okay! Then what are we waiting for?" He said excited and stood up from the table to wash the dishes.
We took Shawn's car to my apartment after he was ready and I changed Riley in some clean clothes that were in the baby bag, which I always have with me.
Shawn parked the car right in front of the building and I ran quickly upstairs, took the picnic stuff and then ran back to the car.
As we got to the Central Park, Shawn struggled a while to find a parking spot, but as he did so, we were more than relieved. We got out of the car and walked through the park for a while until we found the perfect spot to have our picnic.
We prepared everything and it looked so cute and just perfect.
,,This looks so good, Mila." Karen said with a smile.
,,It really does! Wow! I'm proud of myself!" I said and they all laughed lightly.
Shawn kissed my head and then took Riley out of the stroller and sat down on the little blanket with her. I sat next to him and Karen and Manuel sat down on the opposite side.
,,Look! She's standing!" Shawn said proudly and pointed at Riley who was standing on her legs with a little help from Shawn.
,,Oh my god! Good job, Riley!" I said even more proud and kissed her cheek.
,,Camila?" We heard a voice from behind, but as I turned around I couldn't recognize anyone so I just ignored it. ,,Hey." I heard the same voice followed by a tap on my shoulder.
If I looked closer at the person, I could recognize who it was. It was Jason my ex from college and the sign of him gave me chills all over my body.
,,Hi..." I said and didn't try to sound friendly because all I could feel was fear and hate for him.
,,Nice to see you again and oh- Shawn?" He asked confused as he noticed Shawn.
,,Yeah... That's me. What do you want?" Shawn asked showing exactly how he was feeling about Jason in his tone.
He hates Jason and so do I because of what he did to both of us. He's an asshole and I don't understand how he has the guts to talk to us after everything that happened.
,,Just wanted to say hi." Jason said.
,,You did. Now you can go." Shawn said in a really tense tone.
,,Shawn! Don't be so mean to the poor guy." Karen said and her words meant she didn't know who Jason really was because if she knew, she'd hate him.
,,I shouldn't be mean to the guy that almost raped Camila and afterwards hit me until I landed in hospital!? I think that he deserves worse than just me being mad at him." Shawn said and grited his teeth to calm down and don't do something he might regret.
,,Is he that guy!?" Manuel asked in shock.
,,Yes, dad, he's that guy." Shawn said and I put my hand over his to make him calm down even if I knew it won't help.
,,How dare you show up?" Karen asked in disguise.
,,It was a long time ago. I thought we're okay now." Janson said.
,,You really think we could ever be okay!? I'm disgusted to even see your face. Fuck off!" Shawn said angrily and I held his hand thighter so I could hold him back if he wanted to do anything that he shouldn't.
,,Chil your balls, you bonehead." Jason said and with that Shawn stood up to face him.
,,Repeat yourself." Shawn said almost as angry as in that night.
I don't wanna think about that night anymore. Like I said before, that night was the most horrible one in my whole college experience.
,,Chil. Your. Ball. You. Bonehead. Are you deaf?" Jason said and Shawn pushed him hard on the chest.
,,Shawn!" Karen and I yelled at the same time.
,,Shawn, don't. You'll regret it." Manuel said as he stood up and tried to hold Shawn back, but Shawn was just too angry.
,,Shawn, please don't. He's doing it on purpose." I said and tried to reach for his hand, but I couldn't because I was holding Riley so I just held my hand for him to take it.
,,Yes, bonehead. Hear what your little family is saying. You don't want your stupid baby to see her daddy bleeding to death." Jason said and Shawn punched him hard in the stomach, but Manuel held him then back so that he couldn't do more.
,,If you EVER get near my family I'm gonna kill you. Fuck off!" Shawn said angrily and Jason only smirked.
,,You have way to much confidence, bonehead."
,,Just go away! What's your problem!?" I said and realized how hard I was shaking from fear.
,,Why should I? This is way too fun."
,,How sad can someone's life be so that you can't even let a family have a goddamned picnic. If you don't go away, I swear I'm gonna call the cops and trust me it's not gonna look good for you. Now fuck off and if you ever say anything about my girl or come near my girl, I AM going to kill you. And I mean it. You wouldn't be the first." I said and lied with the first part, but he doesn't have to know that.
I did a lot, but I never killed someone. Yet.
Jason walked away without saying a word and I let out a breath. I was still shaking and felt my heart racing in my chest.
,,I'm sorry..." Shawn said and sat back down next to me. I couldn't look at him and not because I was mad, but because I had to calm myself down. ,,Mila, I'm sorry... I promised I wouldn't do it again and I-"
,,It's okay. I wanted to punch him too." I interrupted him and looked him in the eyes trying to tell him that it was okay.
Jason deserved it and he deserved even worse, but I just don't wanna experience the same from college again.
,,I didn't want to punch him, but I couldn't help it as he did a comment on Riley. He doesn't even know what he's talking about and I just couldn't help it...."
,,I know." I said and hugged him.
,,You're a good man, Shawn. Just don't let this guy go to your head." Manuel said to Shawn while Shawn was still hugging me and Riley.
,,I don't wanna ask this, but.....what happened with this guy exactly?" Karen asked and I broke the hug with Shawn, took his hand in mine, took a deep breath and we started to tell them the whole story.
That night is in the top 3 most terrible experiences in my life. The first place has the night my parents died, the second place has the moment I found out Nina died and that night is on that third place....
