Steven ran up to the barn, having planned to spend some time with you, Peridot and Lapis today.
He trudged his way up to the barn. "Y/n! Peridot! Lapis!" He called out. "I'm here!"
Before Steven could process, he was picked up in huge hands. "There's my favourite human!" F/n exclaimed loudly.
Steven's eyes widened as he understood what had happened and stars formed in them. "Oh! F/n, you stayed fused?"
"Only till tonight." F/n winked.
Steven raised an eyebrow but shrugged off the statement. "You don't mind if I spend the day here, do you?" Steven asked bashfully, intimidated by F/n's size slightly.
"Of course not! And who wouldn't want to come back and spend more time with me, huh?" F/n laughed proudly as they walked into the barn with Steven still in their upper arms.
The day went by with Steven asking F/n tons of questions back and forth, as he had the right to ask they supposed.
"Ooh! Ooh! And can you hear their voices separately." He asked excitedly.
"Sometimes. Most of the time our thoughts are joined as one, but one of them may take over at times, or they can converse in my head if they need to." F/n explained.
"Can they hear each other's thoughts? Y/n and Peridot I mean." He continued his assault of questions.
"They can but..." F/n started but paused to lean in close to Steven's ear. "I might be hiding the fact that they love each other from them." F/n backed away and winked to Steven.
"Why?"
"Y/n wanted to tell Peridot themselves, so I'll bend the rules a little for that." F/n said.
"Ah I see I see, your secret is safe with me, sir!" Steven said in a comically deep voice and saluted at you.
"Good work, agent!" F/n joked back.
The two burst out laughing together, catching the attention of Lapis.
"You two having fun down here?" She asked as she floated down to sit between the fusion and the human.
"Please, it's always fun when I'm here." F/n proclaimed, holding a hand to their chest, which was puffed up.
"Whatever you say." Lapis said sarcastically and giggled to herself a little.
"I was just asking F/n a bunch of questions about the fusion thing!" Steven told.
"Well we know F/n loves to talk about themselves." Lapis snorted.
"Hey! Only because everyone loves to listen!" F/n retorted before joining in laughing.
"Your Peridot is showing." Steven joked.
"You little—!" F/n grumbled before playfully pushing Steven's arm.
The three spent the rest of the day much like this, laughing and joking, having fun together. F/n had a great presence, Steven always brought joy wherever he went, and Lapis seemed to be opening up quite easily nowadays which was nice.
"I should probably get going by now, Pearl's probably finished making dinner." Steven said.
"Aww, well come back soon, yeah?" Lapis asked.
"For sure!" Steven reassured.
"Now come here you!" F/n said as they pulled Steven and Lapis into their huge arms for a bear hug.
"C-can't breath!" Steven managed to spit out, almost being crushed by F/n's embrace.
"Ah, oh sorry!" F/n laughed loudly as they let the two go.
"It's no problem! See you around!" Steven said as he ran off back to the temple.
"See ya!" F/n yelled to the boy so he could hear far away, Lapis had to cover her ears.
Steven waved back at the gems, who returned this gesture with pleasure, smiling as the boy went back home.

F/n was tinkering with the same machine Peridot had worked on a few days ago, and Lapis had resumed reading in silence across the barn.
Y/n had decided on something in F/n's head.
F/n stood up and made their way outside the barn. Lapis took notice but shrugged anyways and looked back down to her book.
F/n jumped up to the top of the barn and sat along it's edge.
The night was nice. The deep blues and purples of the sky shone down upon the fusion, cascading over their face.
The air was cool and slow as it blew lightly through F/n's messy hair.
It was silent outside. All the animals were asleep. All the people were asleep. Up on top of the barn, the only thing that mattered to F/n was F/n themselves.
They stared out at the view from the barn, into the lush forests covered in the shine of the moon, and then over to the sea by Beach City, as beautiful as ever.
F/n was overtaken in a flash of light, the view fading as all they could see was white.
The light enveloped them as they stood up and backed away from the edge before the light split in two.
"Oomf!" A nasally voice squeaked out.
"You alright?" Your voice called out to Peridot, her eyes focusing upwards on you slowly, to see your outstretched hand.
"I-I'm fine." She said softly, as she took your hand, letting you help her to her feet.
There was a moment where you both stood before each other, not a word exchanged. Peridot looked up into your eyes, as you stared at hers.
At the same time you both jolted towards each other, bringing the other into an intimate embrace.
"That was amazing..." Peridot whispered, her words muffled with her face being in your chest.
You nodded with an affirmative hum and tightened your grip around her waist.
"Why did you choose to unfuse?" Peridot asked, taking her head away from your chest and glancing up at you warmly.
"I can't see you the way I do now when we fuse." You told as you leaned in and kissed her forehead.
She blushed a deep green and glanced at the roof of the barn below her.
You both stood in each other's arms atop the barn, letting the moonlight grace your figures and the wind gently pass by.
"You know... you don't have to kiss just my forehead..." Peridot mumbled, loud enough for you to hear.
You smiled with a deep red colouring on your cheeks.
Peridot felt a soft hand underneath her chin, as you lifted her head up so her eyes met yours.
The light shone across your faces, only emphasising the others features stunningly.
"You ready?" You asked kindly.
Peridot nodded sheepishly in response.
"Close your eyes." You said, as Peridot followed your command.
You leaned in close to Peridot, close enough that you could feel her breathing quickly on your own lips. Her face even cuter up close.
In a moment, you closed the distance between your lips gently up to her tiny ones as she seemed too nervous to initiate it herself.
You could feel her body freer up, becoming rigid next to yours probably due to shock, but eventually her lips parted slightly accepting yours in hers as they perfectly slid together.
The pressure on her lips softened and she began to calm down. You felt her push back on your lips a bit, making you smile.
You parted the kiss.
Pulling back you looked down into her eyes as she slowly opened them. Her blush was more far more defined and colourful, her face in shock with a hint of sadness the kiss had ended there.
"Humans have some... strange ways to show affection." She began.
"Yet, I am not opposed to such actions."
You smiled at each other, before Peridot surprisingly stood up on her toes and pushed her lips to yours passionately. Her eyes squeezed shut and her lips forcefully against yours. "It could still use a bit of work." You thought and laughed in your head.
Soon after, Peridot released her lips from yours and stood back down, now becoming increasingly nervous, losing the confidence she just had.
"Y-Y/n will you... be my partner... in the human relationship called 'dating?'" She asked bashfully.
You looked into her eyes longingly before a simple reply. "Yes."
"I- uhm- researched the topic... and thought that you are clearly the best partner for me. It's just statistically the obvious answer."
"You dork." You giggled, hugging her tightly. "But that's why I love you."
"I..." Peridot muttered before tightening her grip around your waist.
"I love you too, you clod!"
