Several months earlier
As I was walking around enjoying the heat and scenery of the beautiful sunset background, and field of orange, red and black flowers surrounding me I thought "This is so...perfect?" as I stop to look at the sunset "it feels almost to perfect...like somethings missing" I notice a tree off to my left, with bright yellow leaf's, I slowly walk over to it, I take a seat up against the trunk, closing my eyes, enjoying the feeling of being free "what an addictive feeling" I thought
I open my eyes looking up towards the top of the tree, almost unnoticeable I spot an orange fruit
I slowly stood up to grab it, once in hand I sat back down
Upon closer inspection, I realized it had a very detailed design, in a downwards direction It had arrows spinning around the fruit till they reach the bottom, along the top were lightning type shapes, it was mostly orange but at the top of the fruit it had red that blended with the orange into almost like swirls.
'This must be a devil fruit' I assumed 'if it is a devil fruit, then I might as well eat it' I thought to myself
I slowly took a bite, hoping deeply it would taste good, to my surprise it didnt taste like anything, therefore it wasn't bad
I ate the rest in a rush, it was starting to get dark outside, so I got up from the ground
As I walked back to the town i was staying in, I felt a sharp pain in my chest, I fell to my knees, tears formed in my eyes, it felt like my heart was running a million miles per second, and I couldn't slow it down
I stood back up to run the rest of the way back to the town to get a doctor, but when I ran I went faster then I ever have before, so fast that I almost forgot my chest pain
I tried to slow down, but I couldn't, it was like I couldn't control my body anymore, I was running and running, when the town was in sight, i flew past the buildings, running straight towards the pond that was in the middle of town
Then I blacked out, I remember feeling cold water on my skin, and being picked up
When I came to, i was in a hospital bed, I slowly try to sit up, I look to the left and look to the right 'any doctors? No' I thought to myself
I sigh, "just great...no doctors, means theres no help" I muttered
*creak* I look up to the door to spot a nurse "hello, its good to see your awake, I'm shelby morrow, the nurse that's been watching over you the past few weeks" she smiled kindly
"O-oh um I'm y/n l/n" i muttered under my breath 'wait did she say weeks?'
"U-um how long was I out?" I spoke a little clearer
"About three and a half weeks, we aren't sure what put you in that coma like state, we found you in a pond, you know by towns square, it was strange, nobody saw how or when you got there, but what we do know is that your heart is beating to fast, it's going at an incredible pace, and your still alive so that's something" she said as she read her clipboard "other then that, your in good health, you should be able to leave tomorrow" she said now looking up from her clipboard
"Wow ok, thank you miss morrow" I spoke kinda quiet
"No problem kiddo, just be more careful, and please just call me shelby" she smiled kindly
"Well I'ma leave you now, I have to go check on some other patients, another nurse will be coming by to check on you in about an hour or so, theres some books over there on that shelf in case your interested" she said as she started to walk towards the door
"Thanks" I spoke
"No problem, bye kiddo" she waved back to me
I looked around the room I was in, there was one large window to my left with plain white curtains, the room was just how you would expect it to look, simple and plain.
I pull the covers off my legs, then swing my legs off the bed, slowly and carefully I stand up, I walk over to the window.
This place was supposed to be just a place to take a break from my journey, but now that I'm here i realize it feels calming
'They probably have houses here that wouldn't cost much, I am a traveling merchant and wanderer, so I have the money.....' I thought about my options
'And If I choose to buy a home here, it would mean I have a place to go home to, which doesn't sound so bad'
The long awaited hour passed and the nurse came by to do a quick check up, she told me the direction to the cafeteria, so I went grabbed some sweets and a cup of jello, of course I did grab a sandwich to make sure I didnt eat all sweets, then went to sleep

Time skip to morning.

The next morning was pretty boring, I had to get a quick check up before I could leave, then go find somewhere where i Could buy a house
After leaving the hospital, I walked over to a restaurant to get a quick meal
"Momma! What's the name of this one!" A kid asked her mother
"That one is the Hayai hayai no mi, it gives you super speed, cool isnt it" the mother said
The kid had stars in her eyes as she looked over the picture of the fruit "super cool! I wish I could eat this one! Then I'd be like whoosh!" The girl played around
"Excuse me miss but would it be alright if I see the picture for this fruit?" I ask her
"Oh sure go ahead!" She handed me the book, she picked up her kid placing her on her lap
After inspecting the picture a little, I realized that was the fruit I had eaten
"Thank you miss" I handed it back to her
"Of course no problem!" She grabbed it "say what's your name? I haven't seen you around before?" She asked, placing the book on the table shes at
"Oh I'm y/n L/n, what's yours?"
"I'm mira Gord, and this is my daughter shima, its nice to meet, are you moving around here?" She asked
"Well it depends, is there a marine base nearby?"
"Actually no, there isn't, in fact our little island hasn't seen marines in over 12 years, we never needed them because this is a peaceful island, it's also neutral ground meaning its against the law for marines and pirates to start fights here" she explained
"Wow it's perfect, yeah I think I'm gonna buy a house nearby" I smiled
"Oh that's wonderful! I know just who you should go to! Here sit down let me buy you something!" She motioned for me to sit next to her
The whole time the little girl just kinda starred at me, it wasn't unpleasant or anything
"Miss.." shima tried to get my attention
I look down to her, humming to let her know I was listening "..your really really pretty...did you know that?" Shima said
I slightly blush from the compliment, I laugh softly "thank you shima, your also very pretty" I smiled
Shima blushed, she tried to hide her face in her moms clothes, but I could see a little smile on her face, I heard her mutter a small thank you
Mira was a fairly tall woman, she had long black hair, with beautiful green eyes, shima was similar to her mother she had shoulder length black hair, but unlike her mom she had brown eyes
After a pleasant talk with mira about the town history, she told me she could show me the way to the best realtor in town.
It turns out the houses around here aren't expensive, their pretty cheap in fact, the only reason there cheap is because this island doesn't get constant income from the outside world like most islands do.
To my left was shima who earlier on asked to hold my hand, just past her was mira, she was leading the way
We approached a small shop that was in the center of town

Ring* ring* the sound of the bells at the front door
"Northa! It's me mira, I brought a customer!" Mira shouted to the back of the store
Behind the counter, a rolling chair moved through the arch way, expertly manoeuvring through the store a woman stood up from her seat, leaning over getting up close to my face, hand on her chin in a thinking manner
"Hello there, I'm northa gord, you must be new here" she said smirking, now standing up holding her hand out, she blew her bubblegum
This girl dressed up like some type of engineer, goggles on her head, she had long white hair pulled up into two high ponytails, she was like the polar opposite of mira, mira dressed like a businesswoman.
"H-hi your right I'm new, I'm y/n L/n" I said quietly, I shook her hand
"Your kinda quiet....oh well doesn't matter, I'm assuming your looking for a house, so let's get straight to the point" she wiped out a notepad and pen
"Ok first things first, you married or have any family that are gonna live with you?" She blew her bubble gum
"No but I would like to have a least two extra rooms for guests" I explained
"Sounds good, ok next do you need a lot of space including a backyard?" She said while writing things down
"Not really"
"Gotcha, ok then, how many floors/story's would you like?"
"At least two if possible, I want to have a shop for my bottom floor, you see I'm a merchant and wanderer"
"Ok then, let me check my list to see if any places in town match what you need" she said as she ran to the back
BOOM!*
"Um is she ok?" I ask mira
"Shes fine, you may have noticed that we have the same last name though, it's because shes my younger sister" mira smiled, she seemed proud of her sister
Bang!* clank!* boom!*
"Oh ok" I sweat drop at the noises coming from the back room
Suddenly a flying piece of metal came flying out of the back almost taking out my head, northa pokes her head out
"Sorry, is everybody ok?" Northa asked
"We're fine" mira smiled
"Alrighty then, I'm done, we can head out now!" Northa said wiping out her trusty notepad again
"Um yeah sure" I said
Along the trip we had to split up with mira and shima, it was kinda sad, shima looked like she didn't want to go, but it was getting late and she knew that so she complied
Northa was guiding me towards this house on the corner of a not so busy street, and I must say it looks lovely

"Would this place work? It does have two floors, along with an attic, it's still fairly new as well, the only problem was that someone complained about a ghost or something" northa said while marking off several things in her notepad
"Its also pretty cheap, about 85,000 berry's which isnt much, I'd say its affordable, but it really depends on the person" she said marking off more things
"Yeah this will work, thank you northa" I said kindly
"No problem just doing my job" she said
"For payment, you can choose to either pay a little each month tell you've paid it off, or pay all of it at once, it's up to you but I would suggest monthly payments instead, cause it's still a lot of money"
"Its no problem I can pay all of it" I said
"Well ok then, just stop by my office, maybe Tomorrow morning, you can pay then, heres the key enjoy your new home!" She said cheerfully as she skipped away
