Narrator
After what had happened with Y/n's mom, Danielle started to get really overprotective of Y/n. Almost in an older sister kind of way.
Y/n didn't like it.
If Danielle didn't leave Y/n alone before, now it was worse.
- Y/N POV -
Danielle had been babying me a lot lately.
It was kind of nice at first. I felt safe with Danielle. She'd always make sure I was okay and checked in with me to make sure no one was messing with me, but after a few days it was getting a bit much.
Specially after I told her I had a crush on a girl in my Spanish Class.
"Meet me after school?" Dani asked.
"Umm, I actually wanted to hangout with Sull," I awkwardly responded.
Danielle had been upset lately that I kept talking about Sull, but she was really nice to me from the start and I really liked her.
"Sull? What do you like about her anyway? She usually dates really preppy smart people. She doesn't even seem your type," Dani began to walk me to class.
At times, Danielle sounded jealous to me.
"I don't know. She's just really nice and cool and pretty. I guess she's just been nice since the beginning, so I figured it's worth a shot," I tried to explain.
"I've been here from the start," Danielle pouted.
I raised an eyebrow at her and she just started laughing.
I knew she was messing with me.
"Well, do whatever you want. Just make sure you get home before dinner," Dani said before turning back around to head to her class.
- Danielle POV -
Y/n was starting to fall in love with someone and it was honestly really cute, but for some reason a part of me didn't really like it.
After all, Y/n was the baby of the family now and no one wants to see their little baby grow up.
"You wanna hangout after school? Me and Lily are going to the movies," Hanni suddenly invited me.
I hadn't even realized that class was already halfway through.
All I could think about was Y/n hanging out with Sull.
"Umm, sure," I reluctantly agreed.
I knew I'd rather wait around for Y/n, but it was probably best that I stopped being clinging with Y/n.
I knew Y/n didn't really like me being all touchy and loving with them, but I just wanted them to know I really cared.
On the bright side, Y/n would at least hold my hand when they were anxious in class or they'd hug me when they weren't having a good day. So, I guess my behavior wasn't that bad.
Soon enough, class ended and we all headed over to the movie theater.
When we arrived, we bought our tickets and headed into our movie. Just as we sat down, Lily suddenly gasped really loud and put her hands to her mouth in shock.
We all looked at her really confused and she signaled us to look down a few rows from us.
Y/n and Sull were straight up making out in the middle of the movie theater.
"Oh yeah, well good for them!" I chuckled out a bit awkwardly.
I felt a little jealous that Y/n could find love outside of my family, but I was also a little proud. Y/n ended up getting with the girl they liked.
"Let's just hope Sull's boyfriend doesn't randomly decide to come to the movies too," Lily sighed out.
"What?!" I asked a little confused.
"Sull has a boyfriend. Girl, why do you think I was so shocked?" Lily spilled the tea.
"Oh, oh," Hanni chuckled out.
My blood began to boil.
I clenched my fists tightly, trying to not make a scene.
"Dani, calm down," Hanni suddenly whispered to me.
I did my best to just ignore Y/n and Sull, but it wasn't working. They were being so open about what the hell they were doing.
Eventually, I lost it and got up from my seat.
"Dani, don't!" Hanni tried to stop me.
I just ignored her and marched down to snatch Y/n's face away from Sull.
"We're leaving!" I coldly ordered.
Y/n looked at me in shock for a second before realizing it was me. "Dani wtf!" Y/n exclaimed.
"She has a boyfriend. We're leaving," I sternly pulled Y/n up from their seat.
Y/n immediately snatched their arm away from me and said, "I know!".
My heart sank to my stomach.
"You know what?" I coldly asked.
"I know she has a boyfriend," Y/n answered.
I bit the inside of my cheek at the pure audacity.
"So, you're a home wrecker? Is that really what you are?" I asked in anger.
"She's the one with the boyfriend. I'm not doing anything wrong," Y/n answered all agitated.
"Nope, that's not how that shit works. We're leaving!" I angrily responded and dragged Y/n out the movie theater with me.
- Y/N POV -
Danielle was starting to piss me the fuck off.
"Get in the fucking car. You're not about to willingly turn into a shit person," Dani angrily pushed me into her car.
Ever since Danielle's dad gave her the family car, it had become impossible to not have Dani breathing down my neck at all hours of the day.
"I'm not doing anything wrong!" I yelled in frustration as Danielle started to drive home.
"That's not how that works. She is in a relationship and you have to be respectful of that. Just because she doesn't respect her relationship, doesn't mean there's not someone on the other side that you're both hurting!" Dani angrily yelled.
"How would you feel if I went around taking care of someone who isn't you?" She suddenly started smacking my arm.
"I WOULDN'T CARE. YOU'RE SO FUCKING OVERPROTECTIVE ANYWAY!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.
I was so sick and tired of Danielle trying to act like my mother.
"Tell yourself that next time you find yourself in the streets," Dani coldly told me before going all quiet.
Danielle eventually pulled up to the house and parked on the driveway.
"Lock the car once you're done with your little tantrum," She said before angrily getting out of the car.
I sighed out in frustration once I saw her walk into the house.
"Why can't she just be fucking normal?!" I angrily asked out loud.
Danielle had no in between.
She was either annoying as hell or super loving.
"Dammit!!" I smacked the dashboard as I started to realize she was right.
I probably would feel a little hurt if Danielle suddenly stopped taking care of me and started giving her attention to something else.
I mean....,
It did feel nice when she'd give snacks during class and I like the way she holds my hand when I'm anxious. I also really like that she was always there to protect me from rumors and rude people.
"Dammit," I sighed... realizing I needed to apologize to her.
- Danielle POV -
"Where's Y/n?" Mom asked as I walked into the house.
"Throwing a tantrum in the driveway," I coldly answered her before walking up the stairs.
"Seriously?! I thought you two were past the fighting?" Mom yelled up the stairs.
I just ignored her and went into my room, slamming my door shut.
I didn't usually close my door, but when I did... everyone knew not to bother me.
A few minutes went by and someone suddenly knocked on my door.
I already knew who it was.
"Go away, Y/n!" I yelled from my bed.
"I just want to apologize!" Y/n yelled back.
I took a deep breath, a bit annoyed, and got up to open the door.
"I'm sorry I got mad and yelled at you. You're right. I would be hurt if you suddenly started to take care of someone else," Y/n awkwardly apologized.
"Mhm," I hummed out annoyed.
"I'll stop seeing Sull and... umm... I'll try to be a little nicer to you... 'Cus you're always really nice to me," Y/n started grasping at straws.
I wasn't giving them the reaction they excepted.
"And I'm sorry I said you're overprotective. You're just being a really good friend," Y/n kept on talking.
I couldn't hold my smile back from that one.
I knew at times I was a bit much, but I just wanted Y/n to know they could always count on me.
We didn't know each other for very long and we always got into arguments, but it was like we were destined to be in each other's lives.
After all, it's not everyday that you find yourself living with a stranger you found on the streets.
"Anyway, I really did want to watch that movie. Do you maybe want to go watch it with me after dinner?" Y/n shyly asked.
I giggled a little at Y/n's behavior.
One second, they're basically telling me they hate me and the next, they're trying to take me out of a date.
"Yeah, I'd like that," I shyly answered.
