Papa wolf had won the standoff.

Time wasn't concept the small wolf knew of yet, so she wasn't sure whether the sun was up or down. But it's been long enough.

Papa wolf had went back to sleep afterall. It took a lot of convincing on his girls end, really, it did. But finally he did decide to rest his eyes. Moreso because he just couldn't keep them open anymore.

He was thoroughly exhausted.

In exchange, a compromise was made.

Instead of having his hands bound behind him, Papa Wolfs hand would be bound infront of him. That way he'd be able to touch the small wolf if need be.

He would help her if something went wrong. Irene forbid that happened, though. Lots of blood would be shed.

It wouldn't be Papa Wolfs'.

And because of that, the girl stayed awake. She'd make sure nothing bad happen for his sake.

She pressed her head deeper into his chest. His heartbeat was still there. Good..okay, good.

He's not dead then.

"..Are you not going to sleep?"

She flinched. Tail bushing up, the small wolf turned to face scary man with wide and frantic eyes. He stared through her, almost. His expression unmoving and unchanging.

She swallowed the lump in her throat. "No," She said, "Need to make sure..hes okay." "He's fine. You should sleep."

"..No."

Her hands trembled.
Her heart was hurting again too--
Why was it hurting so bad?

She should probably do what scary man says..it's-it's always better to just do what adults say. When you do, you don't get punished. You don't get yelled at or told mean things.

You get told mean things about yourself. How much if a disappointment you are--Needles, stabbing into your head and arms or-or locked away from the rest of the kids because you don't deserve happiness.

She never deserved happiness.

Was..was he going to punish Papa Wolf? He talked to em' real mean before..was he mad?

"I..won't sleep," She determined, "M' sorry, I don't..can't say things like that but..You're gonna try and hurt him right? I can't let you hurt Papa..wolf. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry-"

Her rapid breathing seemed to make Papa Wolf stir a little. And scary man seemed to shift, "Calm down. You need to breath."

Tears burned her eyes, "I..I ca-n't."

Why'd it feel like her throat was closing up? Was she dying? Was she really dying for real?

Papa Wolfs' ear had twitched.

This time, scary man got to his feet. This did not calm the small wolf, not at all--not in the slightest.

Because why is he standing? He's walking toward her now, too, why? Did he plan to yell at her? Punish her?

Idon'twantthatidon'twantthatidon'twant-

..but..but-

It'd be better her than..than Papa Wolf, right-? If scary man hurts him, she'd be alone again. Or worse, Papa Wolf would do something bad. And get taken away.

She didn't want that.

She just..

Wanted her Papa.

Was that so much to ask?

In a heartbeat, the small wolf was off the couch with her arms outstretched infront of Papa Wolf.

The scary man looked down on her.
She fought to keep her eyes up on him.

"I'll," She took another heaving breath, "I'll let you hurt-hurt me. But not him."

For once, for once in the very few minutes that shes knowm him, Scary Man did something that wasn't so scary.

His face changed. He looked..taken aback.

"I-..What?"

"You..You're going to try and hurt him. I know you will. So many people have tried..even Mother..But-But I'm better at taking punishments! I'm better than him to be..tested with, I swear on..on everything!"

She declared. Her chest burned with how much she was talking. With how much she was breathing. But she can't stop.

Not now.

"You can hit me as much as you'd like-I won't even..make noises or cry. I'll cover my mouth and bite so I don't make a noise. I'll be," She cringed. How she hated referrinf to herself as this, "Your dog. An..obedient mutt."

(That's what mother always wanted right? That's why she called her those words..For her to just stay quiet for once and take it-)

"He..won't be as good as me..He'll fight you, and win. Papa Wolfs' a bad guy. I know he's done bad things an-and not everyones gonna like him..But it doesn't..ma-matter cus' I like him. I'll take all his bad stuff away and-and keep it. But if you tryn' hurt him..I'll fight too. And win."

"..Small one..what exactly did you think..I was going to do?"

..Oh?..Oh..

The small wolfs' face warmed in pure utter embarrassment.

I don't know, I'm sorry-

Why would he even try and do something like that? He wasn't like the others, he wasn't like mother-She shouldn't have said anything, why did she open her stupid little mouth?

"You..weren't going to..You won't-" "I'm not going to harm you. Abuse you. I'd never."

Abuse? Abuse..another word she didn't know. She froze and tensed when scary man lifted her up again. He sat her up right where Papa Wolf layed, still asleep and motionless.

"..I'm sorry..I just thought.." He words died out. Scary man didn't hear the rest.

"..Does he do those things to you?"

"N-No! He'd..never."

A lie.
It was one time--her fault, really.
But never again.
He promised.

"...Go to sleep." "But-" "I won't hurt you. And I won't let anything hurt you..Here."

He held out a blanket. Though it looked more like a blankey in comparison to his hands.

The small wolf snatched it quickly, a mumbled apology leaving her. She draped it over herself before settling in Papa Wolfs lap and sparing him a few inches of warmth.

Good. Her breathing seemed to even out again.

"Thank you for the blanket, scary man."

He huffed, "Not scary."

The small wolf disagreed. She didn't say anything more than that, though, and allowed herself a restless sleep.

But not without hearing one last thing,

"..Call me Aurther. Scary man isn't kind."

Aurther..

Hm.

What a harmless name.

***

You stared at your ceiling.

The chirping of the birds outside and the weary creaks of the house whenever air hit it was the only thing that managed to resonate in your ears.

It's been an entire week since you've been school.

A numbness came after the events at Nico & Sophias place. It never went away. You can only assume why:

You haven't apologized to Ethan.
You haven't apologized to Rocky.
You haven't apologized to Nico.
You haven't apologized to Sophia.
You haven't apologized to Asher.

You hurt them..all of them.

So bad..

Can you even fix the damange you caused? Is it even worth trying?

You sighed.

Man..

"I'm a real crappy friend, aren't I?" You whispeared.

This time, admitting it didn't hurt as bad.

Logan and Alex stomped down the schools' halls with purpose, eyes ablaze with determination.

"Where's he at again?" "Just down the hall." "And you're sure he may be an issue?" "Positive. Had Ethan look into it." "..Got it."

That was the end of that exchange.

The second Logan got his hand on the classrooms door knob, Alex reached out to put a firm but gentle hand on his shoulder.

"You're aware that if we go in here, something bad may happen right?"  They asked.

Logan did a pause, face shifting into something unreadable. Then, he smiled.

"Mhm. I know. But if it's for her, I'm okay with the consequences."

Alex looked pained for second. But it was only for a second. Pushing Logan back, she opened the door for him right as the bell for dismissal rang.

A few of the students stopped their movements, both surprised and mildly annoyed at the random entrace. Others just went around them and out the door as though they weren't even there.

This was a werewolf class, afterall.

Why would some random humans have buisness in here?

...It was also the end of the day, nobody was gonna stay around for that. Even the teacher left.

"Hey!" Logan shouted.

The werewolves eyes seemed to narrow at Logans voice. Their ears twitched.

Eventually one of them answered, "What." But he sounded anything but pleased. Logan shrinked. They..didn't seem as nice and cuddly as the other werewolves hes met-

Rolling their eyes, Alex stepped in fully. Why did they think they could trust Logan to take the wheel? Alex couldn't answer you either.

"We're looking for somebody named Silas," They sighed, "They in here?"

That made some of the remaining kids in the class freeze. They then turned to look behind them before promptly stepped to the side and making room for the student in the back.

Grey-ish blue eyes stared where Logan and Alex stood. Silas gave the pair a bored expression.

"..Do I know you two?"

"..He looks creative." Logan promptly elbowed Alex gently to keep her quiet.

He forced an even smile, "H-Hi! My name is Logan! I..actually came over to this classroom because, well, I wanted to talk to ya'--Aaaand...I think you may have done something..not so kind to a good friend of ours. Me and my friend here just wanted to ask a few questions and maybe sort this out...amicably."

A word his father used at meetings. It always works.

Sliding off the desk, Silas sauntered over to Logan and Alex with a patchy backpack slung over his shoulder. At this point, the rest of the students had took off.

The vibes the werewolf had been giving off did not seem friendly at the moment.

"..I don't think you heard me. Let me ask again," Silas only stopped approaching them both when he was close enough for them to hear his irritated snarl,

"Do I know you two."

Grabbing Alexs' arm, Logan forced his wide eyes away from Silas and to the ground instead. The poor boy was practically shaking.

Alex seemed unbothered, though. They haven't been nervous for this encounter at all, infact.

This kid looked tense.

No matter how hard he tried to hide it, their abrupt entrance had caught him off gaurd. Alex could play on that.

"Not..Not yet-" Logan swallowed a bit, "As I just said, I'm Logan. Shes Alex. We wanted to talk to you about our friend..you may know her..Her name's..Y/n-?"

A ghost of a laugh left Silas' lips at the name, "The weirdo?..I see."

His shoulders slacked along with the rest of his body. He seemed relaxed, even. Maybe he thought the two were here for something else?

Alex didn't know. But they couldn't play on his nerves anymore. Logan could've cared less about this kids body language though.

Weirdo? What an ugly thing to call someone.

"What'd you say." He said harshly. His words came out with more bite than intended. Alex put a hand on her friends shoulder to steady him, but it didn't seem to work.

Silas' frown deepened.

"You heard me. She just sits in that chair staring off into space all depressed--it's like she's not even here half the time," Silas scoffed, "So ungreatful. Shes got it good and yet acts like everydays the worse day of her life. So yeah, she's a weirdo."

"How can you judge her if you don't even know anything about her-"

"Logan. Calm down. We didn't come here to pick a fight, remember?"

"..Hmph.."

Alex gave a ginger pat to his shoulder. "I'll do the talking..Look dude, clearly you know of Y/n at least. What's your name?"

"..Silas."

"Silas," Logan mocked in his voice, "What a stupid name. Matches your stupid face."

Silas gave Logan a glare of pure annoyance.

"Logan shut up. Anyways, Silas...Surely you've noticed Y/n hasn't been here in a couple days. Do you, by chance, have any idea why?"

"Even if I did, why would I tell you. You your weird sidekick-" "-sidekick-!?-" "-Can just get lost. And honestly, if you ask me, your friends absense is appreciated. Her vibes alone make everybody depressed."

Silas smiled eerily at the way that sentence alone earned venomous glares from Alex and Logan.

"If she never came back, my time in this class would get one-thousand times better. I garentee it."

Logan stepped foreward. This time, Alex made no moves to stop him. Better he say something than them, afterall.

Alex often finds it difficult to be civil.

"Y'know..At first, I wondered why I hadn't seen my friend at school recently. But now I get it. I mean, If I had to put up with you? Everyday? I don't think I'd show up either," Logan laughed humorlessly while shoving his hand into his pockets, "I mean..It's a no-brainer now. A douchebag like you. I bet all the other werewolves in the class adore Y/n and hate your guts. Am I wrong?"

Something seemed to snap in Silas in that moment. Quicker than both Alex and Logan could precieve it, Silas grabbed Logan by his collar and pulled him close. So close that with every quick breath Silas let out threw his nose, Logan could feel it against his face.

"Say it again," Silas snarled, "No,no--Don't squirm say it again. I dare you. If you want to keep your face, though, it might be better if you keep that fat mouth shut."

There was something primal in his eyes as he said that. It made Logan practically tremble as he tried to keep his eyes trained on the werewolf.

Alex grabbed Silas by the arm that held Logan, nails digging into his forearm. With a roll of his eyes, Silas tried to shake her off but that proved to be fruitless.

Strange..

Silas never recalled humans being so strong.

"Let go." "Or what?" "Let. Go. I'm not saying it again."

"..Tch.."

The second Silas' hands were off of Logan, he drew back, fixing his collar with clamy hands. Shakey hands.

Irene..Logan had spent so much time with you, he forgot that some werewolves..the bad ones..aren't as kind.

Those ones--Like Silas? Can be hostile.

He was ignornat to think they'd all be as amazing as you were to him.

Logan turned his back to Silas to hide his fearful expression, "You were right Alex..coming in here was useless. If everyone in this class is like this jerk, this was a waste of time. Lets go."

He didn't look behind him to see if Alex was following, too blinded by rage, fear, and annoyance to care. He slammed the classrooms door behind him hard.

His friend hadn't followed him.

Alex stood and stared at Silas.

He stared back.

"..What you did just now wasn't cool."

Silas scoffed, "And? What are you gonna do about it? Bite me?"

Alex cringed at the implication, "Not sure what you mean." "Don't play dumb--That strength you showed just now wasn't any normal human strength...I wonder if you're friend knows."

Alex clentched her fists closed at Silas who seemed completely indifferent about towards Alexs' expression.

"Shut it...Do you seriously not know anything about what could possibly be wrong with Y/n? For someone who's obsessed with calling her weird, I find that hard to believe."

"Obviously not. And I am not obsessed. Are you as stupid as your friend? Man, what a waste. Thought you'd have smarts to make up for your looks, to be honest."

This kid. This kid.

He might be the worst of the worst. Werewolf, human--Alex frankly did not care. That doesn't give you the right to just treat somebody like scum beneath your shoe.

If she wanted to? Oh, if Alex really wanted to-

She'd beat him to the ground right where he stood with her own two hands and humiliate him infront of his peers before opening her mouth and taking a nice big--Alex remembered herself then.

She sighed.

Right..yes, of course. This isn't about her. This is about you. What's wrong with you.

If this boy didn't have the answers then so be it-she'd just move on. Logan was probably waiting outside for her anyway.

Hands in her pockets, Alex scoffs.

"Whatever, dude. I don't have time for you. Let me hear you're messing with my friends again, though. And I swear I will throw all the civilness that "weirdo" taught me out of the window and kill you."

"I'd like to see you try," Silas egged on, "Couldn't even touch me. Strength means nothing if you're not skilled or smart.

"Big talk coming from a mutt. Never met one as insufferable as you. Bet your parents can't even stand you. Tell me, what's it like growing up without love?"

"Like your kind knows anything about love. Only thing you ever want out of a person is personal gain. Get out of my face. I can hardly stand humans already," Silas turned his back to Alex, "You don't get a pass just because you're not with them."

The way Alex grounded her teeth together should've been impossible.

Shes never gotten so mad so quick.

But man,

Alex really hates werewolves, sometimes.

"It was nice meeting you Silas." They forced themselves to say.

Silas was left standing alone in the classroom.

Once the werewolf confirmed Alex was completely gone, he pulled out his phone and began scrolling threw contacts for a ride home.

The other kids thought he was so cool for owning one. But Silas didn't care for it. Not really.

His frown deepened.

What did that Alex know anyway? They didn't know a thing about him. Nobody did. Everybody in this school was all just looking for something to complain about.

It was nothing more to it than that.

They didn't have the right--Not when they have someone waiting to greet them with open arms everyday.

Some people don't get that.
Some people never got that.
Why didn't they know that?
How could they be so oblivious and selfish to the life they have.

Silas eyes narrowed further; idiots..all of them were just plain idiots.

Eventually he landed on a contact and swiped to call. Silas pressed it to his ear and it rang.

And rang.

..and rang.

..and rang..

And..uhm..

Silas pulled the phone away.

He hung up.

And something twists in Silas' chest at those ugly ugly words Alex had even dared to utter.

His eyes burned.

"Idiot," Silas whispeared to nobody, "They do.."

He knows they do.

He's positive.

"..."

Silas began his walk home, cutting off the light in the classroom, and trying a different contact.

He only has 5, though.

So what's the point, really.

---

"Welp...that was a bust." Logan drawls as him and Alex walked through the empty halls of their school.

He turned to look at his friend but her expression seemed uncharacteristically placid. There wasn't that bright playfulness he had gotten so used to.

Sure, she stayed back with that kid for a little bit but Alex reassured Logan he didn't do anything harmful to her.

So what was up?

"What's wrong?" Logan asked candidly.

Alex gave him a look, "You did not just ask me that." "What?" "Dude. Really? What's not wrong. These past few weeks have been..horrible!"

Logan jumped. Whoa..it wasn't like Alex of all people to sprial. Even by just a hair.

That was Ashers job.

"We not only sent Rocky and Ethan to
Y/n--But Nico and Sophia too! Nico and Sophia. The two chillest and most non- confrontational people ever. And look where that got us." They frowned.

She..wasn't wrong. Ever since Nico and Sophia went to see you, Logan did notice a change. Nico got quieter. He didn't feel the need to talk, and even when he could, he just preferred not to. It reminded Logan of when he first met the cat boy, all silent and reclucive.

It took him so long to break those walls down. Just what did you do to build them up again?

Not to mention Sophia..poor girls' practically hovers over her brother 23/6. Been more irritable too.

Ethan was fine at least. Or he seemed to be anyway. He was still in his cast, but didn't mind because everyone wanted to to sign it! Even the teachers. He seems to sulk just a little whenever you're brought up, though. Him and Rocky.

And Asher?

Jeez...

Logan thinks Asher really about to snap his mind in two.

"Well..yeah but can you blame her?" Logan recoiled slightly as the pair got closer and closer to the schools' front doors.

"..Soph told us everything Y/n had said that day at her house." "Wh--And you believed that?" "Of course I did! Why wouldn't I?" "Because for all we know she could've just been trying to justify her actions towards us! I love Y/n, Logan, you know I do. But just because some bad stuff happened to her doesn't mean she can take it out on us!"

Logan stopped walking for a second, brows curling together.

It wasn't like Alex was wrong..On the contrary actually. But..still..

"I know you don't mean that." Logan determined.

"I agree that..she shouldn't take all this out on us. But I don't think she can help it. She's scared. And sure some of things scaring her didn't sound all that believeable..like the Aphmau..hitting her thing and..and Aaron..dying..and Y/n nearly freezing to death-"

"The crazy part is that you're not even halfway down the list-"

"But the main root of the problem is that guy--Ein! If everything else she said was a lie than what's really scaring her is him. It has to be. And you can't just stop someone from being scared of something."

Alex gave Logan a confused look, "..Ein?"

"Ein. Remember? Sophia said that he might've been the one who set allat in motion." "Y/ns never brought him up before though...right?" "Not that I know of...Hey, Alex, hear me out for a sec."

"Irene noooo," Alex groaned into the palm of their hands, "If what you're about to say is we go ask Y/n what's wrong again then I swear Logan I'm going to kill you."

A bright grin broke out on his face, "Awww Aex! You know me so well!"

Another groan.

"Didn't we just establish that asking isn't gonna work anymore? We'll just end up hurt like everyone else."

With a cheeky grin, Logan began his walk out of the school again. "Nu-uh. I have a plan."

Alex sighed, but followed Logan none the less. When the two got outside, they both winced at the bright sun hitting their eyes. Alex especially.

"You okay? Have your scarf?" "Yup..no worries," Alex nods tugging their scarf up a little higher, "Now, what's this plan of yours?"

"Okay. See--What everyone else did was trick, Y/n into being around them. That's basically what Asher thought would work. Remember?"

"Uh-huh..."

"BUT..did any of them actually bring Y/n any sort of comfort? I, for one, think not. They just pestered her into talking. So, my plan iiiiis....We go and hang out with Y/n for a bit! Give her some TLC, y'know?"

.....Alex blanked.

Then, she grabbed Logan by the collar (very roughly like Silas had done mind you) and shook him back and forth as hard as she possibly could.

"It amazes me how positivily stupid you can be sometimes!" "That is very not nice!" "How the hell-" "That is a BAD word!" "-Are we supposed to get her to talk by talking like we haven't been avoided for the past several WEEKS!" "If you stop SHAKING ME MAYBE I'D FRICKIN' TELL YOU!"

Alex paused. The pair stayed like that for a few more seconds before a small scoff left Alex and she let go.

Logan smoothed out his clothes and fixed his collar, "Thank you. What is with people grabbing my collar today! Is that just like--easy access? Could grab my hand or even my forearm but noooo-Lets go for the kids collar. Could choke him somehow but who cares? Not a soul. Seriously..why...."

Alex rolled their eyes. Sassy boy, this one.

"Now. Back to my full-proof plan...I personally believe the best way to get information out of someone is reasurring them they can talk to them..Oh! Like good cop!"

"Didn't Rocky and Ethan try that already?"

"Didn't I tell you to shut up and let me talk?"

"No."

"Let me tell you now then, Shut up and let me talk-ANYWAY! Letting them their safe with you is key. And if Y/ns scared enough that she feels the need to lie and lay her hand on others, she clearly doesn't feel safe. Not to mention..maybe she just..needs someone to be with her that won't bring up her problems. We just need to go to her house, hang out with her, be truthful, and let her feel comfortable enough to tell us what's the matter. See? Full. Proof." Logan concluded with a smug smile.

It was a good plan, a great plan even. Alex would even say it was the best one by far.

They hadn't realized just how irritated you may be if her and Logan come to you with the exact same spiel everyone snd their Mom has given you for who knows how long.

They'd get kicked out before you even had a chance to tear them down.

But still. No matter how 'full-proof' this plan is..no matter how high the chances are you'll say what's the matter.

They still had to ask:

"..And?"

"..And what?"

"And what if that doesn't work Logan?"

Slowly, the smile that had worked its way onto Logans face melted, lips now pressed into a fine lined frown.

Oh..well-

..huh..Logan didn't really take that into account. He's sure this won't fail, how could it possibly fail? He's taken everything into account. Everything. Hes been thinking about this ever since Asher came to him all tearyed about whatever it is you said to him.

But..if this doesn't work..if Logans wrong.

There's nothing more that can be done.

Ethan has tried. Rocky has tried. Asher, Nico, Sophia, even his mild interrogation on Silas was an attempt at trying to understand you.

It's just Alex and him left here.

If you reject them, Logan would quit.

No matter how much it breaks his heart, no matter how much he'd want to pull you into his arms at the moment and beg for you not to do this--to not push his hand away when he's so desperatly..desperatly reaching out to take your own.

Logan would indeed quit.

The last thing he'd want is to push something that really could be your last straw.

"If this doesn't work Alex..I'm gonna leave her alone. That's it and thats all."

Alexs' eyes widened by a hair. Logan giving up? On you? The self-proclaimed love of his life?

They never would've guess it.

Alex opens her mouth to speak, but Logan forces a smile on his face before she could.

"But, that's not gonna happen! This'll be the day our friend forgives us all. So no worries!"

Some artifical reassurance, Alex thinks.

Sounded more like something Logan used for himself that doubled as a way for Alex to drop his resolve.

Which it did. But only because Alex knows just how hard it was for Logan to probably come to that conclusion.

This was the final time they'd try talking to you. After that, this is over.

"Alright! Now, lets go and grab some snacks?" "Snacks? Why?" "Everybody knows that snacks affect a persons' mood. For example. I, for one, am starving."

Chuckling, Alex sped up a little to walk side by side with Logan.

"You're always hungry though." "Am not!" "Are too." "Whatever..you got money? We can stop somewhere for snacks and food to share with her." "I do, but not much. Just my hundred dollar allowance."

"You and Asher are both some spoiled rich kids.." "What was that?" "Nothin'."

Aphmau is starting to accept the conclusion that she's a bad mom.

Or--Scratch that, maybe not a bad mom..But she's not very good at discipline.

The short woman layed on the couch in a similar manner that you were upstairs, the unopened note from Ethan clutched between her fingetips.

The boy didn't dare open his mouth when Aphmau asked what had happened and what you had done. Infact, he made an attempt to even lie to Aphmau about it.

Granted, it was a horrible horrible lie but it was a lie none the less.

Rocky had been there too at the time, but when Aphmau had to asked her she said she wasn't going to say anything because she refused to be labeled as a 'Narc'.

Whatever that meant..

Just what had you done that resulted in the two kids' covering for you so intensly?

It worried Aphmau more than she was when the two of you first came into this house a few weeks ago.

Without Aaron..

Aaron would know what to do. He always did.

Recently, you haven't been coming down for many meals. Let alone talking to Aphmau in general. She's been more lenient on letting you miss school, but it was only a matter of time before people started asking questions of your whereabouts.

Aphmau wasn't sure if she was mentally ready to explain your distance.

When she was your age, her mom would have never let an attitude like yours slide. If Aphmau even dared to do so, she wasn't even sure she'd be alive to see you today-

But..how exactly can she punish you for your actions if she has no idea what was going on?

She lifted the letter up to the light to gaze at it. The light allowed the paper showed off the long letter inside scribbled with writing. Aphmau cringed.

While Ethan did make her promise not to open it under any circumstances, this letter would tell her everything that was going on..she was sure of it.

Would it really hurt to just..take a small small peak?

Sitting up, Aphmau jammed a finger underneath the seel and slowly began to lift up. Ethan'd never find out..shes your Mom anyway, she has a right to know what's going on in your life.

There's no reason to feel guilt about this. No, not at all.

But just as Aphmau is inches away from pulling the seal further and further back, a knock startled her out of her actions.

It wad quick and sharp..almost insistent in a away too. Aphmau let out a shakey sigh as she put a hand over her heart.

What was she thinking?

She shouldn't read this letter at all.

Standing up from the couch, Aphmau took a quick glance at herself in a nearby mirror.

She was still wearing Aarons' jacket but..otherwise..she looked decent. Decent enough, anyhow.

She opened the door just wide enough for her body to be shown, "Uh..Go-Good Afternoon! Is there anything I help you with he--Oh!"

Aphmau looked down and grew pleasently surprised at the two kids' standing on her doorstep; Logan and Alex.

They also had a shopping bag filled with an abudance of things in hand.

She didn't remember allowing you to have friends over.

"Logan..Alex! Hello!"

"Good Afternoon Mrs. Aphmau!" Logan cheered, waving his hand wildly as if she wasn't right infront of him.

It was endearing, really.

It was something you used to do a long time ago.

Alex just did a curt nod of their head.

"Is Y/n here?"

"Uhm..Yeah-I think she's upstairs."

"You think?" Alex asked. Aphmau tensed a little. They look..incredibly judgy all of a sudden.

"She is," Aphmau quickly corrected, "Why? Is something wrong?"

As if sensing the random distain flowing off his friend in waves, Logan tossed an arm around Alexs shoulder, "Nahh..We just wanted to hang out with her. Is that okay?"

A breif look of hesitation passed Aphmaus face as she took a small glance upstairs where you were. It was in that moment Alex decided to examine over the young womans features and frame.

Her eyes look puffy and heavy, as though the bags underneath from little sleep were weighing them down tremendously. Her hair looked ever so slightly unkempt, save for the bow on the back of her head, and she was wearing a red jacket.

A red jacket that lookes very similar to the one Alex often heard you describe as Aarons.

What really stuck out to them, though, was Aarons presense.

Alex could not feel it at all.

So you weren't lying that day. Something happened to Aaron.

"I'm..not sure," Aphmau suddenly says snapping Alexs attention fully back onto her, "She hasn't been feeling well. Not sure if she told you but..we've been going threw a lot recently."

"Yeah, we know." Logan shrugged.

Both Alex and Aphmau looked at him as if he had two heads.

"You do!?" "We do..?"

Logan all but beamed, "Yes ma'am! I mean..we are her friends..it's kinda hard not to notice. That's why we're here. To cheer her up! We got her favorite snacks, comics, movies--She does have a TV in her room, right? If not, I borrowed my Dads' old video player! He'll be, like, mad heated bout' that but it's worth it!"

"Logan, Alex, wait just a second-"

"Ah..And besides Miss. Aphmau, we went threw all the trouble to come down here," Logan cut off with a faux expression of sadness, "I'd be a bummer if we had to walk all the way back."

Alex was floored. Wow, she never took Logan to be the manipulating type. She had to jump on this bandwagon too.

"We have no car nor ride...I also spent all my money to get this stuff...so if you send us away...I need my money back."

Excluding the multiple pauses, that was pretty solid.

"What she said." Logan pointed.

Aphmau rubbed the back of her neck uncomfortably. Well..maybe you could use the company. And Logan often did cheer you up whenever he came over. As far as she knew anyway.

It wouldn't hurt to let them upstairs. And, who knows, maybe they'd give you your school work! Yeah! This was a good idea!

"I-I guess you two can go see her. She's upstairs in her ro--"

"KthankslaterBYE!" Logan all but beamed, running upstairs at a speed Aphmau had never even seen him show before.

...Surely that was fine.

Turning back to where Logan stood, Aphmau flinched slightly at Alexs' frame. They hadn't moved yet.

"..Anything else? Alex?"

"Just a question. I noticed..bandages on her fingers and neck."

Her? Ah..she must be referring to you. A simple question Aphmau could answer. The same excuse she told you to give. Aphmau opened her mouth to speak but Alex followed that statment up with another one.

One Aphmau wasn't sure she could comment on or lie about.

"I've also noticed that Aarons not here."

The look on that kids' face when she turned to look Aphmau in the eyes...That look...

Was this even really a kid?

Those two pairs of purple eyes bored straight into Aphmaus very soul in a way that made it impossible to tear her eyes from them, "Did something happen to the two of them?"

"..N-" Aphmau felt her words catch in her throat for a millisecond, "No. Aaron is just..is just spending time with his parents for the year. He'll be back soon."

"..And-" "The bandages? She cut herself whike helping me cook. Clumsy daughter of mine..yeah.."

"..oh..Okay." Alex smiled, striding past Aphmau and making her way to the stairs. Aphmau didn't dare turn back, afraid of what her eyes may give away.

"That's good..For a second I was worried that you may have put your hands on my great friend y'know? I would've had to tell someome if you did, Miss. Aphmau."

"..Right."

"Mhm..Anyways. Thanks for letting us in! We won't stay long, swear!"

And with that parting comment, Alex decended up the stairs with the soft sounds of their feet getting quieter and quieter in the distance until they were on the second story.

And out of Aphmaus earshot.

Once she was sure they were gone, she slowly closed the front door before leaning against it with bated breaths. She cupped her mouth as cold sweat formed around her temple and under arms.

Yeah, she was definitely not reading that lettet now. Because she was almost positive that if she did?

Alex would know.

And that was clearly not some normal kid.

---

You've been staring at your roof for a long time now.

How much time has even passed? You dunno. You couldn't care to know.

You had heard the front door downstairs open, though. So maybe enough time has passed that Zane or Kawaii~Chan came by..?

Well if they did, you hoped they wouldn't try and come up here. Who knows who insensitive thing you're mind would make you spout without another thought.

They'd be better off never talking to you again.

Maybe you'd just be..better off alone.

Alone.

So very alone.

You turned so your body was facing the wall, curling up in a fetus position.

You really hated to be alone, though.

Suddenly, as if irene heard your internal woes and wanted you to struggle, a knock sounded at the door. And you all but bit back a groan at the sound.

"Go away," You hissed with slight bite, "I'm not hungry or thirsty or in the mood for anything right now.."

"...That sounds like it sucks."

A voice. A voice that wasn't Zane nor Kawaii~Chans but a fimilar voice none the less. You turned your head slightly to the door, eyes shining some. With either happiness or tears was anybodys guess. "Logan-?" You called meekly.

"And Alex," A second voice sounded, "Hi Wolfyyy."

Your lips pressed togther involuntarily to stop yourself from crying out for them. Then, with ears flattened to your skull, you turned away with tearful bagged eyes.

"Go away." You repeated.

From the other side of the door, Logan frowned. You sounded hurt. And exhausted. Very very exhausted. He exchanged a look with Alex who simply shrugged before trying his luck and knocking one more time.

"You..don't sound very well. Me and Alex brought you your school work since you missed school and all. Are you sick or something?"

"Sick of you maybe.."

Alex winced. It was a bitter mutter, but a mutter that she heard none the less. She turned to gaze at Logan, hoping he didn't hear. But if he did, he either didn't show that he did or was unbothered entirly.

Thats what shocked Alex the most.

"Yeah. I know I can be pretty annoying sometimes. I'd be sick of me too if I was your friend," Logan had laughed. His hand pressed into the wood of the door as if hoping you'd be there close to listen, "But me and Alex came all the way here to hang. And I know you couldn't possibly be sick of them. Can't we come in for atleast a little bit?"

You rose your head slightly where you assumed Logan was. He..didn't sound mad.

But..But who cares!

Just like everyone else

over--

You grit your teeth. Picking up the nearest item around you(which was a pillow)you threw it as hard at your door as you could with a shout, "What part of go away don't you get!? You just want to know about that stupid lodge just like everyone else! You don't want to hang out with me! Not at all!"

You shouldn't want too, anyway...

"Of course I want to ask you about the lodge. Why wouldn't I?"

You froze.

"Wh..What?"                                     wħȺŧ?

Alex grabbed Logan but the arm hurridly, shooting him a look of breif hesitation.

He was really going to tell you the truth?

Just like that?

But everytime the lodge was brought up your personality towards someone just managed to get worse and worse. How can he say that so candidly? Logan rested his hand ontop of the trembling one clentching his arm, sparing Alex a reassuring smile.

Hes got this. Alex just needed to trust that he did.

"What?" Logan parroted with another chuckle. "You were gone for weeks and came back all sad. Why wouldn't I want to know?..Alex and I wanna hang out. But we also want to talk to you about what happened. Can't we do both? What's it gonna hurt."

He sounded..so okay.

Not tense.

Like even though you left, nothing changed in his eyes. Not even a little bit.

"Logan.." You whispeared, voice now watery with incoming tears.

He smiled from the other side of the door. And in this moment, Alex was sure she was friends with someone who was both a complete idiot and an absolute saint.

"So, I'll ask again..Can we come in?"

..There was silence. And Alex swears she saw Logans lips twitch a little, just itching let his smile fall or fix for a frown.

Neither of them could hear you anymore. Surely you weren't still about to reject them...right?

Then, the door swung open and out you ran straight into Logans arms with heavy breaths and a drumming heart. He fell back a bit, obviously, you had ran into him with such force afterall--and for a second Logan wasn't sure what to do with his hands.

After a few beats, though, he slowly managed to turn his arms around your frame as a deep sigh of relief left him.

"Is..that a yes?" He attempted to joke.

But you weren't laughing.

"Sure," You lifted your head to look straight into Alexs' eyes while answering Logans question, "You guys' can come in."

Alex didn't look away. Because in that moment? That moment of your E/c eyes looking into Alexs' purple omes?

Alex swears that it wasn't you talking just then.

---

"Have you ever heard of Avatar?" "Not this again..."

You made a noncommental hum as you curled a little further into the space Alex and Logan made for you in between them.

One second they were outside your door begging to be let in, and the next they were cramped into your single twin underneath you, where you used the pair as pillows.

Alex cringed whenever she felt your tail brush against her thighs, but didn't make much room for complaints. You were warm, afterall.

"What's the matter with Avatar?" "You and..him talk about it like it's the best show alive." "Arguably, it is." "There's more out there."

"Mm..You and Asher do talk about it often, Logan." You murmured numbly. Emphasis on "his" name.

They've must've been scared to mention it around you. You shifted your body so that you were laying inbetween Alex and Logan instead of ontop of them.

You didn't dare look them in the eyes, though. Who knows what they'd give away.

You'd just sit and wait for them to ask you about the lodge. Then you'd snap, say something cruel, and they'd leave.

Just like you did everyone else.

What a horrible person you are-

"What shows do you like?" "..Huh?" You turned to look at Alex who had decided to find purchase in braiding the hairs in your tail.

You haven't groomed it in awhile, though.

"Whaaat shows do you like," They repeated, "I like some live-people stuff.."

"Oh, like Disney? Austin and Ally?" "There's more live-people stuff that isn't on Disney. Liiike..Like Modern Family." "My Dad says I shouldn't watch that..its for grown ups."

"I..like F/S." "F/S? Oh yeah, that show. Whoa..it's been awhile since you brought that show up."

You shrugged, "Haven't been up to watch it in awhile."

Haven't been up to do much of anything, really..

More silence. Alex finished putting a braid in your tail and started working on second one. It was comforting, in a way. Just laying together like this without saying much.

You could've fallen asleep. You almost did, actually. Then you felt eyes buring a hole into the side of your skull.

With hazed half-lidded eyes you slowly forced your head to turn to where Logan was chilling. He was staring right at you. Even when you turned to let him know you noticed, he didn't look away, eyes swimming with something that could've been uncertainty or curiousity.

It made you
anxious.

He was going to ask, wasn't he? Of course he would..he said that was one of the reasons him and Alex was here.

He doesn't
care about you.

He doesn't.

He's just leading
you into a false sense of
security.

All to get more information.

Does he really think you're that stupid? Your teeth pressed together as Logan opened his mouth to speak. But you beat  him to the punch.

"How much longer are we going to frickin' do this." Logan blinked, mouth clamping shut. You could feel Alexs' braiding stop.

"Huh?" "Don't be an idiot. Even if you were born one."

Logan seemed to wince for a second.

ᘜᓍᓍᕲ.

"You were gonna ask what happened just now, right? It's not that much of a surprise. If you plan on asking, doing it know and stop faking the rest, useless t̸̫̫́̌̉͝r̵͕̍̀̈́̽̎̍͗̍́̏̚͠ǎ̴̯̀͠s̴̀̎̇͗h̸̽̂̓͝"

"Ah..I was gonna ask if you wanted some chips."

You did a pause.

"Wh..Huh?"

Logan turned away from you and leaned off the bed for a second before coming back up with a bag of potato chips and some skittles.

"You looked hungry."

"...Have you eaten breakfast, Wolfy?"

"..Not really."

"Then you should have a meal. That stuff isn't even healthy for her Logan. If I knew you'd spend my allowance on junk, I never would've even brought it up." Alex scoffed, going back to their braids. Logan rolled his eyes, tossing the back of chips onto your stomach.

"Snacks, a snack. Have at em'..Oh! And did you know Alex gets a 100 dollar allowance? A 100 is such a big number. Like, do you think that's fair? I don't." "Wolfy isn't involved in our conversation bout' my money." "Cus' you know I'm right."

"..So when?"

"When what?" Logan smiled, popping a skittle in his mouth.

You glared at him as hard as you could, sitting up completely. "Stop. Acting like THAT! When are you two going to ask me about the lodge!? Pester me until..I can't take it anymore!"

Alex shrugged laxly. As though she didn't care.

She never cares.

But then..their answer. The answer you recieved was one that none of your other friends gave you.

Not even Asher.

"When you want, I guess." "Mhm..what Alex said. There's no rush, y'know. You can tell us whenever you feel comfortable!" Logan added.

Your mouth hung open like a fish, eyes wide and dialated as though your friends' words for foreign to you.

They may as well been. In a way, it almost fell on deaf ears.

"Can you lay back down now?" "Yeah, your body was warm and I'm not done braiding your tail."

..hm..

"Yeah. My bad."

And so, you layed back down.

This went on for awhile. They'd speak about something, you'd respond as disintrested as you possibly could, and they'd go silent again. Though not particularily bothered.

It was both unnerving and reliving, really, knowing you have time to get your thoughts gathered.

Before you off and say something wreckless, that is..

You turned to look at the sun. Bright golden rays of warmth flowed into your room like water, bathing it in a soft orange light.

Telling them wouldn't be so bad..right?

Keeping them from the truth doesn't mean anything. You off and blabbed off to Nico and Sophia, afterall. Their cousins too.

Knowing the twins, they probably told both Alex and Logan everything you said. Lying would just make everybody resent you more.

Make them view you worse.

...scared.

You don't want that. You..you never wanted that--wanted this.

Mom may think it's bad for you to talk about what occured on Bunny Hill.

But..

Mom hasn't been thinking right anyway.

"..Is it okay?" You whispeared. So quietly, it could've been taken as a draft seeping in from the cracks of the wall.

Logan hadn't heard you. Alex did though.

"Is what okay?" They responded, loud enough for Logan to understand you had asked something. That got his attention.

Your teeth sank into your lower lip as both kids' stared at you paitently from either side of your body. Waiting.

You moved your hands to rest on your stomach, now burning with fear and anxiety as it crawled its way up to your now dry throat.

"To..talk." "..Only of you want to." Logan was quick to reassure. And you felt water burning up in your eyes again for what felt like the thousandth time today.

They really did care.

"How..much did Nico and Sophia tell you." You asked, trying to hide the stutter in your voice as much as you possibly could.

You failed, obviously.

This time it was Logans turn to look at Alex, wondering where to take this conversation. They got you into atleast thinking about opening up..which is good! Really good.

But neither dared to move, nervous that you'd backtrack instantly if they did.

Slowly, Alex nodded in a way you didn't seem to notice. And Logan let out a breath threw his nose.

Okay. This was really happening, then.

"Well," He started, "Soph told us firstly how..you kinda got--.She told us what happened at their place. And why Nico wasn't speaking anymore."

Your heart seemed to twist, "Nico won't talk?"

All because of
yOu-

"Yeah. And I won't lie, it's probably because of what you said. Or did." Alex shrugged.

!?

Your fingers clutched the fabric of your shirt around your stomach. Alex fought not to wince at the way your tail seem to droop a little.

It's not like she meant to hurt you..That isn't the intention here. However, Logan and Alex came in here with a goal to be unflitered and honest with you.

And the truth is, your actions have consequences. If you can't understand that?

Neither of them can help you.

"What else.." You muttered.

"..Well..Aphmau and Aaron got into a fight. And it resulted in Aaron getting hurt. Badly hurt. And that's why he's not here, right now...Am I right so far?"

"Mhm."

"...Okay. An-And..You're hurt too, right?"

"..." "Phyiscally. I mean."

Maybe that's better than just saying that outright. Logan turned his head, eyes lingering over your body for a short period of time. Your fingers were all bandaged..your neck too.

How come that wasn't even the slightest alarming to him before? Has he been that ignorant this entire time?

"Yes."

Logan shot his head back up to attention.

"Mom..she.." Your voice seemed to crack a little, "She hurt me too..It wasm't on purpose, though...I know she'd never hurt me like that but..I can't help but--Hate her for it..For everything. I hate him too. I actually hate him more..more than anything else in this world."

Alexs' braiding at stopped. Logan felt like his own breathing had stopped too.

The venom..the pure unhidden mirth lacing your tone and dripping from your lips like water.

He'd never heard you speak in such a way. Not about anybody.

Still, he had to ask. Him?

"Aaron?"

You scoffed. "No." Him.

"Ein."

"..Ein." Alex repeated slowly.

"Who..is he?" Logan added. His suspicions needed to be confirmed.

"He was the one who hurt ᑘS." You weren't exactly sure why you said 'Us', either..

But it didn't really matter, neither Logan nor Alex seemed to think on it too much. However, you did have their full attention.

You wanted to think that was a good thing.

"Well, where is he? What happened?" Logan asked a bit impaitently.

"Where..Where is he?"

You let out a shakey breath--

stop.

The hand that wasn't clutching the area around your stomach went to grab your wrist as you forced your eyes to bore into the ceiling.

stop

You hesitated. "I..don't want to say."

........

..saying it outloud now. Feels a lot more freeing than usual. You wondered why that is?

The silence in the room was deafening all the same though. Like a weight being sat on your chest, making you struggle to breath.

Nonetheless, you refused to look at Logan and Alex

You were scared.

Then, after what felt like a torturous 5 mintues, Logan opened his mouth to speak. His voice was shakey in disbeleif.

He was scared.

"Killed?" "Yeah." "As in..he's dead." "Mhm. It was after he tried killing Dad too. And after he tried to push me off a cliff..I felt like I had every right. But..they never found a body."

"..So he could still be alive.." Alex inquired.

You forced your body to remain relaxed at the very thought.

"Possibly. I don't know though. He could still be out there."

"So why are we laying around here then!?" Logan hissed, sitting up.

You and Alex both flinched at the outburst, sitting for the first time this whole evening.

And--Oh wow..Logans face.

Have you ever seen Logan so openly distraught before?

"..Huh?" "You..You've been hurt! He hurt you! We need to tell someone! The police! Or..something! Why hasn't Aph done anything!?

"Why would she need to do that?" Alex glared slightly. Logan was losing his cool, and it may end up having them waste another chance at getting you better.

They were so close.

He needed to calm down.

You, however, made no moves to speak. You felt..strange all a sudden.

"Why would--Are you serious? He tried to kill..everyone! That's..That's like a crime, isn't it?!" "Uh-huh. And?" "Alex, you cannot be serious right now. This guy--Ein or whatever--He's a really messed up guy! He messed our friend all the way up too! If he comes back..If Y/n didn't--didn't actually," Logan did a bit of a pause before lowering his voice slightly, "We can't just sit around and hope for the best."

"And why not? Logan, we're not old enough to do anything about..any of this crap. Sophia said the exact same thing, this is bigger than us. Maybe even Aphmau too. Aaron isn't here so that should say enough. Spreading this stuff around may be dangerous."

"Dangerous? Dangerous how? Enlighten me, please, because maybe I'm the one being naive here." "Trust, you are."

It was like they forgot about you. Their argument had switched from on the bed to the ground with Logan mainly being the one yelling and Alex responding in full.

You wanted to butt in.

Tell them to calm down, atleast, or that the three of you would figure something else out together now that they know.

But..something was wrong. You didn't feel right.

Like you weren't...

A smile grew on his face just a little, "I know what she's trying to do. She did the same thing to Ethan, Rocky, Sophia, Nico, Asher--Saying mean things to rile us up even though she doesn't mean it..All to push us away. Well guess what, we're not leaving so don't bother trying-"

Alexs teeth pressed together, eyes glaring hard into your:)skull. Whether you were trying to push them away or not, that didn't mean you had the right to just..treat them this way!

She took a step foreward, but was forced to stop in place by a single hand Logan rose.

No words left his mouth, but that motion alone told Alex all they needed to know; Just don't speak.

"You know something?" Logan smiled, "I don't believe you. Not at all. Because the girl I know..the one who's had my heart since I met her..my greatest friend? Wouldn't dare say any of this to me. Never. So I know you don't mean what you said. I don't even think it's you talking. Know what I mean?"

?̸̢͕̭͍̰̪͒̀͊̉?̷̜͈̃́̊͋̍̅?̸̞̉̔̊͌͝s smile fell. But made no room to answer.

ʸᵉˢ.

Logans face twisted into something awful and painful as he took slow steps towards ?̸̢͕̭͍̰̪͒̀͊̉?̷̜͈̃́̊͋̍̅?̸̞̉̔̊͌͝, grabbing the hands folded neatly over y̷̧̥̬̋ǫ̵̲͒u̸͊͜r̶̪͍̤͂?̴͔͑?̵̥͛ͅ. lap.

ʸᵉˢ!

"Listen. I can't handle the thought of something bad happening to you. It makes me sick inside. But Y/n..I can't prevent those bad things from happening unless you tell me. I need you to tell me. Please," He squeezed tighter, "Tell me. We love you too much to not know. I know you can be helped. Changed. We're willing to be by your side every step of the way."

ˡᵒᵍᵃⁿ...

?̸̢͕̭͍̰̪͒̀͊̉?̷̜͈̃́̊͋̍̅?̸̞̉̔̊͌͝s expression was unreadable. Not happy. Not sad. Not angery. Just there. And for a moment, Alex had really thought Logan got threw to you.

ᵖˡᵉᵃˢᵉ..
ʲᵘˢᵗ ˡᵉᵗ ᵐᵉ ˡᵉᵃᵛᵉ ᵗʰᵉᵐ
ALONE!

Alex. Was wrong.

A grin grew on ?̸̢͕͒̀͊̉?̷̃?̸̉s face as you held Logans hands tighter in y̷̧̥̬̋ǫ̵̲͒u̸͊͜r̶̪͍̤͂?̴͔͑?̵̥͛ͅ own.

"𝐍𝐨."

Logan tilted his head, "No? No what?"

"𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧, 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?" "Ah-! Of course! You can ask me anything-"

"𝐈𝐟 𝐈 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧?"

Logan froze. Alex froze.

ʸᵒᵘ ᶠʳᵒᶻᵉ.

"My..My what-"

"𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐲𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞-"

"Y/n wait-"

"𝐇𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐚𝐥K 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐝."

"St-Stop, lets-"

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐦. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬. 𝐈 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐦. 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐨!"

Logan snapped, "I LOVE MY DAD!" He proclaimed overtop of ?̸͒?̷?̸s sickingly calm voice, "And..Yeah! Sometimes things get rough between us. It's the same between you and me I--I love you too, Y/n!"

"𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐟 I 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭? 𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 away. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐩𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞? 𝐈𝐟. 𝐘𝐨𝐮. 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥."

"...I.."

For the first time in Logans life, he had nothing left to say.

"𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞," ?̸͒̀?̷̃?̸̉ scoffed, "𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐤."

Logan didn't move. He trembled in place, but didn't move. He opened and closed his mouth like a fish but didn't move.

Could he even bring himself to move?

Irene..

Is this what it feels like to half a heart ripped in two while its still beating in your chest?

"Alex," He eventually said. Low. And soft. And devoided of all the positvity he had coming into this house.

Alex didn't know what to do.

"I..I think I wanna go home. Yeah, M' gonna leave. I'll see you tommorow. Okay?" "..Logan-" He walked past her without hearing what she had to say.

With his hand on your bedroom door knob Logan call all but say only one other thing, "I'm sorry..for being this way. All pushy n' stuff. I just care about you. More than I do myself. I don't think I'll ever stop. But if you want me to leave you be, I'll do that...All I've ever wanted for you was happiness, afterall. Even at the expense of my own. Goodbye, Y/n."

...Logan
left the room.

Alex stood by themselfs, slack jawed for a moment, mind racing with an abundance of questions as their chest burned from your actions.

How...

How the heck could you do such a thing and still smile about it!?

"𝐇𝐚𝐚𝐚𝐡..𝐈𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞? 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥? 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐞..𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞!"

?̸̢͕̭͍̰̪͒̀͊̉?̷̜͈̃́̊͋̍̅?̸̞̉̔̊͌͝ drawled, tossing your hands behind your head, "𝐀𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞? 𝐃𝐨 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐨-"

In what felt like a millisecond too fast, ?̸͒̀?̷?̸ was pinned down to the bed with an absolutely furious Alex layed ontop. ?̸͒̀?̷?̸̉ squirmed and kicked to no avail, curiousity now dawning your features.

Hm.

You never recalled humans alone being stronger than a werewolf of all things..

Alex pressed their forearm against the top of your throat, one of their knees now digging into your thigh to keep your still.

"What's going on, huh!? And who on earth are you!?"

ᵃˡᵉˣ⁻﹗

?̸̢͕̭͍̰̪͒̀͊̉?̷̜͈̃́̊͋̍̅?̸̞̉̔̊͌͝ "...𝐈'𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭-" "Cut. The lying." Alex hissed, arm pressing deeper now. You began to cough, squirming frantically at this point.

"Who are you, and what have you been doing to my friends. Because the Y/n I know? Wouldn't do any of this!"

You started to hypervinalate. But only for what felt like a moment.

It was like this at the lodge too, Moms' hands around your neck..not being able to breath and-and now it just--

"..."

ᵃˡᵉˣ, ʷᵃⁱᵗ, ˢᵗ⁻ˢᵗᵒᵖ⁻

ᵗʰⁱˢ ᶠᵉᵉˡˢ ˡⁱᵏᵉ ⁱᵗ'ˢ
ʰᵃᵖᵖᵉⁿⁱⁿᵍ ᵃˡˡ ᵒᵛᵉʳ ᵃᵍᵃⁱⁿ﹗

And in that moment, something awfully strange flickered in your eyes. It made Alexs purple ones sting, like when light flashes them too fast.

They flashed of green. And if you were to blink you missed it.

Luckily, this is Alex were talking about. So even if she blinked, there would be no missing it.

Then? Then there was something else. Something that scared Alex to her very core snd caused her stomach to turn ice cold.

Her hold on you flattered.

You took that chance, swinging your arm across Alexs' face and body, but she caught it, with a shakey hand, eyes scrutinizing all over your features as if looking for what she saw earlier.

You didn't care, though. You just needed her off.

So you used your leg that wasn't pinned instead, pushing it up and deep into Alexs stomach and kicking them off you.

Their back slammed into our bedroom door as they hissed in pain with a low hum.

You kept your hand protectivly wrapped ontop of the bandages on your neck.

𝐀ᒪᒪ 𝓭Ø𝐍𝑒 =]

"...Y/n?"

"Wh..What is WRONG with you!?"

"Y/n."

"You could've choked me out! I--My neck it..It's still sensitive Alex!"

"Y/n!"

"Why are you still even here!? The way I tossed you--your arm should be broken!"

"Y/N!"
"WHAT!?"

You shouted, voice rasped and worn like you've been screaming for an hour straight. And Alex seemed hesitant to continue the conversation from that alome.

But, still, she had to ask.

Because this just didn't make any sense.

Not at all.

"Y/n," Alex swallowed air from where they leaned against the door.

"Who..is Z?"

Your eyes went wide. Heart speeding up, again. Cold sweat running down the side of your face and gathering underneath your arms.

How..did she?
How does she know-?

You spoke threw clentched teeth, "Get out." Low, at first.

"But-"

"GET OUT!"                              "₲Ɇ₮ ØɄ₮!"

Then loud. That time, you meant it.

Alex, left the room.

...The bond between Logan, Alex, and yourself was offically:

severed.
