There was a knock on my door before it slowly opened revealing Luke.
"Hey Luke." I said kind of confused. Why was Luke in my room?
"Hey Matilda, I like what you've got going on here." He said sitting on a stool opposite to me.
"So I came here to ask you if you could tutor Jess tomorrow night?"
"Sure but you know he's smart enough to do if himself right."
"Of course but he just needs a little push and he really likes you so I thought you could get him in the right track."
"Of course Luke I'd be happy to help." I smiled before saying goodbye.
Not what I was expecting to say the least.
"Lorelai!" I shouted walking down the stairs.
"What?!"
"I'm tutoring Jess tomorrow night."
"Well, be home by 11." She said.
I walked back up to my room and decided it was late and went straight to sleep.

After school I headed home to finish my own homework.
"Hey Rory." I said walking through the door seeing Rory sitting on the couch reading.
"Hey what are you doing this evening? I was thinking that me and Dean would have a movie night and we kinda would want the house to ourselves."
"I'll be out the house at Luke's tutoring Jess."
"Okay, what time will you be home?"
"11 so you guys have time but remember protection." I said pointing my finger sternly.
It was 7 pm and I had just gotten dressed in blue boot cut jeans, a green tank top with a black cardigan on top and my glasses since I was too tired to put on my contacts.
I walked downstairs noticing Dean sitting on the couch with Rory.
"Okay I'm going, don't have too much fun." I said raising an eyebrow.
Rory rolled her eyes and Dean chuckled before getting back to their movie.
I put on my comfy uggs and my black puffer jacket and headed out the door to Luke's.
"Evening Lucas." I smiled.
"Hey Matilda, Jess is upstairs ho drag him down."
I walked up the stairs excited to see my boyfriend. I knocked on the door eagerly and was met with Jess who was pulling on a hoodie.
"Hey." I smiled pecking his lips.
"Hey let's go."
"Okay so where are your books?" I said as we sat at a table in the corner in the diner.
"Huh, I don't know." He smirked.
"Jess if you don't get your books I'm leaving."
"The cat ate them."
"Bye." I said getting up before feeling someone pull me back by the belt loops in my jeans.
"Fine." He rolled his eyes making me smile, he looked so cute annoyed.
"Are you done with your essay?"
"Yep." He said passing over a piece of paper.
"This isn't Shakespeare, it's the lyrics to a Clash song."
"But which one?" He smirked.
"Jess." I sighed.
"10,9,8." He started counting down.
"Oh, oh it's The guns of Brixton." I said.
"A plus Jane." He chuckled.
"You've actually gotta do your work now."
"I'm tired of studying, let's go get ice cream." He whined.
"First of all you haven't done any studying, second there's ice cream here."
"But I need cones."
"So if we get ice cream."
"In cones." He interrupted.
"You will be a perfect student for the rest of the night?"
"Ofcourse." He said grabbing his jacket and opening the door for me.
"I don't believe a word you're saying." I sighed getting into the passenger seat of Jess' car.
"It's better in cones right?" Jess chuckled.
"Yes it is." I smirked.
"Hold the wheel I'm dripping."
"Jess!" I yelled.
"Letting go." He said taking his hands off. I quickly grabbed the wheel anxiously steering.
"I'm gonna kill you."
"Come on your life would be no fun without me." He chuckled.
"Slow and painful."
"Oh come on." He rolled his eyes.
In under a second I felt the car swerve and a sharp pain before my vision went dark.
I woke up seeing a bright light above me. I groaned and tried to get up when I heard a voice.
"Woah woah, slow down there. Please keep laying." The voice said.
"Where am I?" I groaned.
"You're in the Hartford hospital. I'm doctor Adrian Matthew.
"What happened?" I asked I was so confused. I turned my head to the right and saw an iv that was attached to my arm.
"You got in a car crash. You fractured your wrist and your head got a bit bashed up.
"Oh, is Jess okay?" I asked starting to get anxious.
"I don't know any Jess, a man had called the ambulance and left the sight right when the ambulance arrived." Dr Adrian said.
"That was Jess, I need to leave and find him. He might be hurt." I said trying to get up.
"I'm sorry but I have to ask you to stay still I'm still wrapping your wrist."
"Can I at least lift my seat?"
"Sure." He said pressing a button on the side of the bed.
I saw my reflection in a mirror across from me, my lip was cut and there was a big bandage on my head that.
I winced at the sight and looked over to Dr Adrian who was putting a cast on my wrist.
"Don't worry, you can take the bandage off tomorrow but you do have a cut of your forehead so you'll have to keep disinfecting it." He smiled.
All I could think about was Jess, was he okay, when could I see him? Suddenly the door burst open.
"Oh Matilda, are you okay?" Lorelai asked running to my side.
"I'm fine, can't feel a thing. Dr Adrian gave me the good drugs." I joked.
"Oh my gosh, I came as soon as they called me. Where's Jess?" She asked.
"I don't know." I said looking at my lap sadly. I was worried, extremely worried.
"When can I leave?" I asked Dr Adrian.
"The cast is ready so you can start heading out when you want to." He said taking the over drip out my arm.
I got up carefully and held onto Lorelai's arm the whole walk to the car.
"Can we go to Luke's?" I asked as Lorelai drove out of the hospital parking lot.
"Honey I know you want to find Jess but look at you, you need rest." She sighed.
"Please don't be mad at Jess."
"I'm treating really hard but I'm a little mad."
"It wasn't his fault."
"I know honey." She whispered.
