[A bit of teaser for the love interest in this chapter, still ain't going to tell you who it is though. Although only two people know the answer to that question, you know who you are]
Logan had every right to be nervous but deep down, he couldn't afford to be right now as he looked down two paths from being in the center of the hallway; to the left was the room that Steve was going to and to the right was the room that he was going to have go in
Apparently the army didn't want to have them in the same room for both procedures maybe out of the fear that this didn't go as planned so they built two separate rooms across from each other; Dr. Erskine was going to be with Steve to ensure his procedure went accordingly, Logan on the other hand was going to have someone that the doctor trusted with every fiber
"You got this, Steve. Don't go ditching this now"
Logan said trying to lighten the nervousness in the air that could be felt radiating off of Steve; Steve chuckled a little as Logan laid his hand on Steve's shoulder and calmly said
"I'll see you when this over, I promise.."
Steve nodded his head as Logan's hand slipped on his shoulder as they were both escorted to their separate rooms; Logan walked through the doors and could see dozens of people hard at work whether they were prepping everything or making sure that this didn't come back to bite them in the ass as Logan was met with the doctor in charge of his procedure

Dr. House:Mr. Howlett. Are you ready to change history and show them what you can do?
This was Dr. Gregory House, the man that Dr. Erskine trusted to go through with the procedure so the doctor trusted this man then do did Logan as the mutant gave a response back
"Let's fucking go.."
Those three words were enough to see what Dr. House had been told so much about; there was determination behind Logan's eyes as the mutant was led to a water tank with a pad on it and was told to strip down to his boxers, multiple nurses took a quick glance at Logan which go unnoticed by him alas he had other pressing matters as he laid down on the pad
Dr. House:It's okay to be nervous, Mr. Howlett. Not many men would ever go through with this but you are an extraordinary exception
Logan quickly figured out that Dr. House knew just what he was otherwise there was no way he would be so damn collected in his presence; a nurse came by and drew around Logan so that they could pinpoint where the drillers were going to be in
Dr. House:Try not to die on us now. My superiors would be on my ass for letting that happen
Before Logan could even get a word in, Dr. House was handed a microphone that connected to the speaker for all the important people that were watching from the room above them; Dr. House tapped it once or twice to get their attention as he began
Dr. House:Ladies and gentlemen, today we witness medical history. We're about to begin bonding adamantium to our volunteer..
Logan is given an oxygen mask so that he may breathe inside of the water tank as he is slowly lowered into the tank; Dr. House gives the signal to begin as the liquefied adamantium is seen being poured through a glass container via a tube, multiple switches are flipped showing that the drillers are ready and are spinning on maximum velocity
The mechanism is lowered into the water tank and with a simple press of a button, the drillers sink themselves into Logan's skeleton as the liquefied adamantium is slowly drained from its container and onto Logan; the hot metal spreads causing Logan to thrash around with the immense pain only growing
Dr. House:He feels pain just like the rest of us but anesthesia won't work on him. That's why he had to volunteer
The doctor says telling the people watching from above, multiple blue vials are attached to the sides of the water tank but the brave nurses; the monitor showing Logan's vitals starts to go beyond the normal limitations with his heart rate and blood pressure rocketing
Logan could feel the adamantium burning away at his insides as he screamed in agonizing pain through the oxygen mask; in those brief moments he could see his past and future all flash before him, they were faint enough for Logan to see and yet through those memories there was a constant voice in his head
Push through. Keep fighting..
Her voice was so gentle and warm, Logan clung onto those words and grit his teeth and fought through the pain as multiple blue vials were soon injected into Logan's veins from another mechanism; everyone could look on whether it was on the edge of their seat or was looking from close by. The sound of a small buzzer could be heard indicating that the liquefied adamantium had been completely drained
Dr. House stood in silence and saw that the thrashing had completely stopped, the monitor had shown no sign of Logan's vitals; the doctor dropped the microphone and was speechless. Unfortunately that silence was cut short as Steve who was now fully transformed into a brand new super soldier barged in and frantically looked around for his friend
Steve:Where is he? Where's Logan?
Peggy, Colonel Phillips and Dr. Erskine who had followed Steve in noticed the silence that filled thr room; Dr. House looked down at the ground with guilt written all over his face, it finally dawned on Steve on why there was silence
Unfortunately there wasn't time to grieve as an explosion went off from the other room proceedings with the sound of multiple gunshots going off; a man by the name of Heinz Kruger had infiltrated the base and was for one thing only, the last vial of the super soldier serum that was left behind after Steve's procedure
Alas one crucial part remained for Heinz to complete his mission, a smoke bomb is thrown into the room as it goes off filling the room; Steve acts immediately trying to find the man but the smoke makes it difficult to pinpoint him. A loud *BANG* goes off followed by a screaming nurse; Steve follows the source of the scream and manages to find Dr. Erskine holding Dr. House in his arms
For Dr. House had jumped in the way to save his dear friends life and in return had taken a bullet to the heart; Heinz mutters something in his tongue having missed the target but that was the least of worries as a loud ferocious roar echoed throughout the room as Heinz turned to see Logan had risen from the water tank with his claws now covered in metal
Heinz was initially shocked by this but quickly shot at Logan's head only for the bullet to rip through Logan's skin and quickly heal like it was never even there; Heinz didn't even know how to react
Logan sprung out of the water tank and lunged at Heinz with superhuman speed and tackled the man to the ground, his new claws ready to kill the man; Logan sniffed and could smell something off about Heinz as he forcefully held Heinz' mouth open and pulled out the cyanide tooth and tossed it aside
Heinz:You are a freak of---
Logan didn't even let that man finish as he stabbed Heinz through the head instantly killing him; Logan stood up and looked around as everyone could be seen staring at the blood on Logan's claws, the very person he wanted to prevent from dying was still alive but not at the cost of another man's life and now Dr. House would never know that the procedure had truly worked
