Chapter Twenty Six - Safe, Happy, and Calm

"Megan!!! Taeil!!! Somebody help me!!!" I flung up from my bed, hearing screaming and crying coming from Jihoon and Azra's bedroom. I knew it could only mean one thing. Behind me, Taeil followed me to their room; both of us running.
Trying to hold back my tears as we entered the room: I knew what to expect.
"Baby...you don't have to go in...I can go in if you want me to..." Tail gave me a gentle kiss.
"I need...to see for myself..." I could hardly breathe at this point. I opened the door, taking in as much oxygen as I could, and entered hell.
Azra was laying lifeless on the floor, Jihoon beside her, shaking her and screaming her name. She wasn't waking up. She wasn't moving. She wasn't breathing.
I knew I had to be prepared for this and I told myself time and time again to brace myself for the worst. But...I didn't think it would happen this soon. I was supposed to be the one dying first. I was the oldest. She's supposed to be there with me when I die!
I couldn't help myself any more and I began to scream loudly, falling to the floor, crying hysterically. I felt like someone had been doing this to me from above, just to punish me for all the sins I'd committed when I was younger. They had done this on purpose to spite me. Why my sister though?! Why not me?! This only caused me to scream louder, not out of just pain, but frustration too.
Taeil was standing speechless in the doorway. He was shocked and couldn't believe the scene in front of him.
"I'm...going to...ring for an...am-...ambulance..." He mumbled under his breath.
I didn't say anything. Neither did Jihoon. We just sat there in silence, staring at her lifeless body, trying to figure out why she had passed so early.
"Was...she peaceful...?" I managed to croak out, sniffling.
Jihoon gave me a small nod. "She was...in my arms...sleeping...She was peaceful...and happy...she had...the best way to die...She was calm...she'll...be happy now...she'll be able...to watch over us from above...and be our guardian angel...right...?"
I gave him a small nod, crawling over to him. Climbing into his arms and onto his lap, I sat in a ball, crying into his chest. He began crying onto my shoulder, holding me tightly. "I'm...glad she was...safe...with you...Jihoon..."
This only caused him to cry harder. "Thank you...for...bringing her to me...Megan..."
I hugged him tightly, nuzzling closer into his chest. "Thank you...for making her happy...right until she died...Thank you...Pyo Jihoon..."
Soon enough the ambulance team came and went, taking away her body. Me and Jihoon still in each other's arms.
"Babe...?" Taeil softly whispered my name as he entered the room.
I looked up, my eyes swollen and red with dark bags underneath them.
"Shall we all go to bed now...? We have a king size bed, so we could all share so Jihoon isn't alone tonight..."
I gave him a small nod and held Jihoon and Taeil's wrists, pulling them to our bedroom. Me on the left side of the bed, Taeil in the middle, and Jihoon on the right. None of us slept that night. We stayed awake; enjoying each other's company. We were talking to each other about whatever we could, just to distract ourselves from what had just happened.
