castiel sat in the back of the impala, hand on his forehead and eyes closed as he felt nausea nagging at him, which is worrying him because he's an angel, he shouldn't feel things like that.
He didn't know what he should do, he wanted the disgusting feeling to go away and never return, how do some humans deal with this on a regular basis?
Oh crap the feeling was getting worse.
"dean." castiel managed, causing the human to turn his head slightly, "I apoligize for the inconvenience, but please pull over...something's wrong." he continued, swallowing hard at the end and dean pulled over, the angel not hesitating to open the door and jump out of the car, falling to his knees and throwing up onto the grass that was beside the road.
"Shit, cas." dean spoke and rushed out of the car, going beside his boyfriend as he vomited onto the ground, sam immediately looking for a hex bag because angels don't get sick, as far as they know.
castiel shivered, clenching his eyes shut and grabbing onto dean's shirt to keep himself steady, "Hey, you're okay cas, i gotcha." dean cooed as he held the angel up, letting him rest his head on his shoulder.
"Something's wrong dean..." cas muttered, wrapping his arm around his waist and snuggling closer to his boyfriend.
"there isn't any hex bags." sam spoke as he got out of the car, unable to find any sign of a cursed object that could be causing this, cringing as castiel gagged, not able to throw up anymore and just dry heaving.
"you think you're gonna be able to handle another hour or so of driving?" dean asked and castiel nodded, sam helping dean stand him up and get him into the car, dean about to go in the front seat before cas grabbed onto his sleeve, tugging slightly as he silently asked dean to stay in the back with him.
"sam, can you take the wheel?" the older asked and sam nodded, getting into the driver's seat as dean slid in next to the ill angel, wrapping his arm around castiel's shoulders and pulling him into his side, the angel resting his head on dean's shoulder.
~
it had been three weeks of castiel randomly getting nauseous, sometimes throwing up and sometimes just laying down in a bed or the back of the impala until it passes.
it was getting aggravating and castiel just wanted to find the fucking witch or whatever cursed him with this, what else could it be other than a curse?
currently, the angel was standing in front of the bathroom mirror, wearing dean's shirt and underwear because his normal attire was getting too annoying to deal with when he needed to quickly get into or out of something, the trench coat got him tangled up and caught on doorknobs and stuff too easily.
castiel was about to leave before he notived the small curve to his stomach, stepping back a bit and looking at his profile, lifting up his shirt and poking his middle.
was he now getting bloated and sick? what kinda curse is this?
"cas? what are you doing?" sam asked as he walked by the bathroom, causing castiel to jump and pull the shirt down. dammit he forgot to close the door.
"U-uhm....i seem to have gotten bloated due to the curse." cas mumbled, rubbing his back of his neck with his hand and sam nodded, then his eyebrows furrowing before his eyes widen.
"angels are genderless right?" sam asked and castiel nodded, "can they all carry?" he continued and castiel nodded before going wide eyed.
the bloating and the vomiting make sense now, he was pregnant.
A nephilim was an abomination to heaven, he was basically gonna have a huge red target on his back and then the baby would too.
"o-oh no.....oh no dean's gonna freak out." cas muttered and ran his fingers through his hair, every worse possible scenario running through his head.
dean's gonna scream at him, dean's gonna hate him.....dean's gonna leave him. oh god, dean was gonna leave him and cas was gonna be alone.
"Cas, cas hey look at me." sam cooed as he put his hands on castiel's shoulders, the angel looking up with teary eyes.
"Its gonna be okay, alright? You might not even be pregnant, it could just be some sickness angels can catch or some kinda curse." sam smiled and castiel nodded, not wanting to cry in front of sam.
"im gonna go to the convenience store across the street and get you some pregnancy tests okay?" the youngest smiled and cas nodded, really not trusting his voice right now.
sam gave castiel a pat on the shoulder before leaving the motel room, the angel watching him walk to the store through the window and he laid out on the bed, his hand subconsciously going to his belly as he stared at the ceiling.
~
castiel glared at the tests, head in his hands as he tried to process everything.
All five tests were positive
cas was gonna have a fucking baby and he was so damn scared. he wasnt gonna get rid of it, but now he had a huge vibrant target on his and dean's back, and the baby once its born.
he was gonna have to tell dean and sam and bobby and he should probably tell claire cuz wouldn't she technically be a big sister? he didnt fucking know, too much was going through his head too fast.
"s-sam?" castiel called out, opening the door a tiny bit while he was still on the floor, hearing the tall man walk to the door way and get down on the ground with the angel.
"you wanna keep the baby cas?" sam asked and the pregnant angel nodded, sniffling as he tried his hardest not to cry.
"i..i just dont know if dean wants the baby." he sniffled, wiping his eyes as teares threatened to fall.
"cas, if dean is an asshole about it, I'll kick his dumbass for you okay? don't worry." sam smiled and cas nodded, wiping his eyes and he jumped as he heard the door open, immediatley picking up the pregnancy tests and hiding them in sam's inside jacket pocket, the only thing that happened to be close enough and big enough to hide the tests.
sam didn't argue it, just letting castiel do it as he saw the panicked look on the angel's face, who was not ready to tell dean about the baby.
dean walked by, smiling and waving as walked to the table, stopping to take a second glance at castiel and the angel tried not to look suspicious, sam moving out of the way and closing the bathroom door behind cas.
"cas, have you been crying?" dean asked as he saw his angel boyfriend, seeing how his eyes were sorta red-rimmed and glossy.
"i-i just threw up a lot and my eyes started to water from it.." castiel lied, trying to sound convincing and it seemed to work as dean nodded, going over and kissing his cheek, making the angel smile a little.
sam sat back down at the table, taking off his jacket and completely forgetting about the tests in his pocket, one of them falling out and dean saw.
"sam, what the hell just fell out of your pocket?" dean asked and cas tensed up, internally panicking as his boyfriend went over and picked it up before sam could get to it.
"did you get someone pregnant or something?" dean asked and sam looked at castiel, the angel looking down in embarassment.
"its not--" sam started, but was cut off as castiel walked over and took the test out of dean's hand.
"i-its....its mine." he mumbled, not looking dean in the eye amd clutching onto the pregnancy stick.
"its yours? how?" dean asked and castiel rubbed the back of his neck, a habit he has picked up apparently.
"you-u know how i've been getting sick?.....its because im-m pregnant...." cas managed and looked up, seeing no emotion on dean's face and that just scared him.
"are you serious? like are you sure you are?" dean asked and the angel got out the rest of the tests.
"im positive"
~
it had been about three months since castiel told dean he was pregnant, the angel now having a noticeable four month bump and dean has been refusing to let castiel leave the hotel alone, knowing that heaven practically had slapped a huge target on cas's back and had an angel ready with a sniper pointed his way.
cas's morning sickness had stopped about a week ago, still get moments of nausea but he no longer threw up every morning, which was a relief.
cas noticed something was starting to seem off about dean, he seemed a little awkward each time someone mentioned the pregnancy or something related to it, and he hadn't been showing much affection towards the angel.
needless to say, castiel was worried.
the angel made his way out of the room after pulling on a tshirt, going to ask dean about the way he had been acting lately, stopping as he heard the winchesters talking to one another, they hadn't seemed to notice him, so he decided to listen in.
"he's your boyfriend and he's carrying your kid, dean. you need to open your mind a bit." sam spoke and cas's heart clenched, was dean gonna leave him?
"i know, its just......girls get pregnant dude. cas is a guy, well at least jimmy was so therefore he is....i think. i dont fuckin' know, its just.....male pregnancy is kinda weird and gross." dean rambled and cas walked into the room, his eyes already filling with tears.
"you think im gross?" castiel spoke and the brothers froze, turning to look at the angel, who looked ready to cry or punch dean in the face, possibly both.
"no cas, thats not what i was--" dean started before he was hit in the chest with a bottle of water, it being the closest thing castiel could grab amd throw that wouldn't cause serious damage.
"that is what you meant." castiel glared, going back into the room and slamming the door behind him in anger.
"i should go talk to him.." dean spoke and sam smacked the back of his head.
"ya think?!"
~
dean quietly opened the door, heart sinking as he saw the angel curled up on the bed, arms around his waist and back turned to the door, but the sniffles indicating that he had been crying.
"cas, can i talk to you?" dean cooed as he gently shut the door behind him, walking closer to the bed.
"depends.....you gonna keep telling me how gross i am?" castiel spat and dean sighed, cautiously sitting on the edge of the bed.
"no, im not gonna tell you that you're gross because its not true." dean sighed and the angel remained silent, the human taking this as a sign to keep talking.
"i was just being a total dick....you aren't gross cas, i just wasn't used to the fact of male pregnancy im guessing, and im not using that as an excuse for my asshole behavior. but, im gonna make myself get used to it because you're carrying my kid and i need to be a good boyfriend, i mean i need to be a good boyfriend regardless of the fact that you're pregnant. anyways, bottom line is, im gonna not be an asshole and you're not gross, hell you're the exact opposite...dammit, i love you cas." dean rambled and he laid down next to the pregnant angel.
castiel rolled over, throwing an arm around dean and laying his head on the man's chest, dean smiling a little.
"i love you too assbutt"
~
dean woke up, rubbing his eyes as he noticed castiel wasn't laying next to him, getting up and seeing the angel on the other side of the room, standing next to the crib that they had recently gotten, fiddling with one of the baby blankets they bought.
dean got up, going over to his pregnant boyfriend and wrapping his arms around him, "why're you awake, baby?" he mumbled into the angel's shoulder.
"couldn't sleep, thinking too much." castiel mumbled, smilimg a bit at the comforting feeling the man gave him, dean's hand making its way to cas' bump.
"whatcha thinkin' about?" dean mumbled sleepily, nuzzling into cas' neck and kissing it gently, making the angel scrunch his nose up a bit and smile.
"ive been thinking about the baby, nothing bad about them....just thinking about all the possibilities once their born." the angel shrugged, placing the blanket back in the crib.
"by possibilities, do you mean the danger they can be put in?" the winchester questioned, rubbing his thumb against cas' clothed bump, having picked up on the fact that it helped both him and castiel calm down.
"yes, definitely that, but also the problems of birth and if the nephilim will be healthy and all that....just normal fears, im guessing." the seraph spoke, holding onto one of his boyfriend's hands.
"i....i might not survive the birth dean." he spoke, tightening his grip on dean's hand.
"the nephilim uses my grace to grow and they've used lots of it already, and the birth will need even more...i could die." castiel continued, tears rising in his eyes and dean turned him around, holding him close and rubbing his back as he hears the angel start sniffling, trying to prevent himself from crying.
"cas, listen to me. you're gonna be okay, everything will, if the baby drains your grace, then maybe another angel can help, like gabriel could help or something. i dont know much about grace and angels, but i just know that im not gonna let you die, okay?" dean cooed and the angel nodded against his chest, sniffling and snuggling closer.
"lets get you back into bed, yeah?" the human whispered and castiel nodded, following dean to the bed and laying with him, cuddling close to his lover.
"you're gonna be okay cas"
~
"dean, please, oh please make it stop." castiel whimpered, clinging to dean's tshirt and crying into his chest as a rather strong contraction wrecked through him.
the angel had gone into labor around 9 pm, not wanting to go to the hospital in fear of them not being able to treat him or the nephilim properly. then again, sam and dean might not be able to treat them properly either, but he had his faith and trust in the brothers, they knew more about angels then the average doctor would, so his chances were better this way.
"i've got you cas, you gotta breathe, deep breaths." dean cooed and rocked slightly, rubbing cas' back and holding his hand, not caring that his hand was turning white from how tight the pregnant angel was squeezing it.
"dean....it hurts more and more every time." castiel whimpered out as the contraction ended, still clinging to dean but loosening his grasp slightly so he didn't cut off dean's circulation.
"that means we're getting closer to the birth, angel. its progress, a very paimful progress, but a progress nonetheless." the human cooed, running his fingers through cas's hair.
"i still think we should get you to the hospital, cas. we don't know as much as a doctor would about birth, let alone a male birth." sam interjected as he walked into the room, carrying a wash cloth and some water for castiel.
"they don't know anything about angels though." cas mumbled as dean dabbed the wash cloth across his face, the angel smiling at the gesture.
"yeah, but they would be able to deliver the baby easier and if it gets bad cas, one of us will summon gabe or balthazar, im sure that they'll know what to do." dean added, playing with cas' hair and the pregnant angel huffed, running his hands over his face.
"okay....lets go"
~
"get it out of me, dean make them take it out of me." castiel whimpered, crying into dean's chest as they waited for cas to be fully dilated.
they had been at the hospital for five hours, the angel dilated by eight centimeters, having gotten to hospital with a dilation of five. his labor was going so slow and the angel just wanted it to be fucking over with.
"why did my father have to make this so fucking painful?" castiel muttered, gritting his teeth at the pain and buried his face in his boyfriend's chest.
"its gonna be over soon, cas. im sorry that i can't do more than just hold your hand." dean cooed and rubbed castiel's belly, holding the hand that didn't have a tight grip on his tshirt.
"i want it to be over now....theres so much pain." the angel cried, looking up at dean with his deep blue eyes, filled with tears and some making their way down his cheeks.
"i can't make it go any faster, cas." the winchester cooed and he ran his fingers through cas' chocolate brown hair, his heart breaking when castiel gasped in pain and cried into his chest, wanting to take away the angel's pain.
was he fallen now since his grace was so weak? well, he didn't know how much grace you needed to be considered an angel, all of it? most of it? some of it? barely any? either way, he'd still be dean's angel.
dean snapped out of his thoughts as castiel tugged on his tshirt to grt his attention, looking at the angel with a worried expression, seeing cas struggling to stop himself doing something.
"dean....dean get a nurse, i needa push..."
~
castiel fell back against the soft hospital, panting and looking up at dean, a pained and worried expression on his face.
"its too much dean....i-its too much." the angel whimpered, leaning closer to his lover. dean rubbed his thumb across castiel's cheek, kissing his forehead.
"you're doing so good cas, you can do it, everything gonna be okay." the human cooed, moving some of cas' hair out of his face and kissing his forehead again, helping castiel sit up so that he could push again, holding the angel's hand as he cried out in pain as the baby started to crown.
"make it stop.....please, it hurts too much." the pained boy sobbed, growing too weak to push, he couldn't use the grace he had left because he would blind everyone in the room.
he was, as dean puts it, royally fucked.
"you're so close cas, our baby is almost here." dean cooed and helped castiel remain sat up, wanting him to only have to focus on pushing.
castiel took a deep breath before gritting his teeth and bearing down, pushing with every last bit of energy he had, crying out as he did so, his voice breaking as the shoulders slipped out, the delivery nurse pulling the rest of the baby out, castiel falling back into the bed.
"cas you did it, you had our baby. im so proud of you." dean cooed, teaars coming down his face as he kissed castiel's cheeks, the angel smiling tiredly, half awake at this point.
dean kissed his forehead, smiling at the sound of the baby crying because he was a fucking dad.
"I'm so proud of you cas.....cas?" dean questioned as he felt his boyfriend go limp in his arms.
"cas? cas?!"
~
"he said that he might not survive....im not gonna let him die this way though, i cant let him die." dean mumbled, explaining to gabriel, who sam had summoned, what happened after the birth.
cas was out cold, needing to be put on oxygen because he was too weak to breathe on his own. his skin was slightly cold and he had so many wires strapped to him that it make dean's heart break.
"i can heal him practically all the way, but i have to leave him with some post labor aches so nobody thinks he's super human and has tests done on him." gabriel explained and he went over to his brother, putting his hand on castiel's forehead for a few seconds before removing it.
"He'll wake up in an hour or so, dean-o." The archangel smiled and dean thanked him, gabriel walking over to the basinette that the newborn slept in.
"I'm hoping that this is your son and they didn't switch him out for a different on." the blonde laughed and dean rolled his eyes.
"no, he's got cas's eyes and my nose, he's ours." dean smiled, watching gabriel look at the newborn sleep, before he whooshed away.
~
castiel woke up and groaned, shielding his eyes fromthe bright lights in the room, noticing the iv in his arm and after blinking a few times, he met dean's eyes and smiled.
dean kissed his cheeks and castiel kissed him softly, arm around his neck and the human's hand on castiel's cheek.
"how's the baby?" cas whispered, voice still hoarse from all his screaming and crying during labor.
"he's beautiful cas, they have him in the nursery, but he's so fucking beautiful....he looks so much like you." dean smiled and cas kissed his nose, making the human scrunch his face up.
"I'm so proud of you, cas"
