"Y/N!" Isa said happily, waking me from my sleep.

I groaned and saw the sunlight shining through the windows. I sat up straight in the bed, trying to untangle my messy hair. "Isa. What is it?" I said, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

She giggled. "Prince Maxon is on TV! You have to see!" she said, pulling me out of bed.

"Seriously? You woke me up because Prince Maxon was on TV? Come on, Isa," I said, laying back down.

She pulled my arm again. "Y/N! Please? If you see him, maybe you'd want to enter the Selection!" she said.

I frowned. "Isa, I've seen the prince more than a hundred times! I don't think that's going to change my decision," I said, groaning as she pulled me again.

"Ugh, come on, Y/N! You'll just enter! What's the harm in entering? It's not like you'll get picked!" she said.

"Exactly! What's the point in entering if there's no chance for me getting picked?" I said, almost yelling.

She pulled me again. Hard. I fell of the bed, landing on my butt. I glared at Isa as she put her hands on her hips, obviously satisfied with me falling. I stood up only to be dragged to the kitchen, where Mom was cooking.

The TV was a little static, but it was clear enough that you could see the Royal Family's faces. I looked at the TV in awe. Queen Amberley looked so elegant.

"See? Maxon's so handsome!" Isa exclaimed, fanning her face dramatically.

I looked at the screen. I guess he looked kind of cute. He had honey- blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes. He looked very... summer like. It was calming, really. The only thing was that he was too perfect. His back way too straight, his uniform too fitted, his hair and pretty much everything was perfect. Too perfect.

"I guess so..." I said, shrugging.

Isa's jaw dropped. "What do you mean 'I guess so'? Mason is the most handsome human being I've ever seen! And I've seen a lot of people," she said, putting her hands on her hips.

I chuckled. I mean, she has seen a lot of people. But the most handsome? I don't know about that.

"Maybe it's because Queen Amberly is so beautiful! Have you seen her? She's so pretty!" Isa continued, plopping down on a chair.

My mom chuckled. "Yes, that is true. Queen Amberly is one of the best queens Illéa has ever had," Mom said, though there was something in her voice. Sadness, maybe?

I turned to my mother and saw the tiniest bit of sadness in her eyes as she saw the king. Her eyes wandered towards the TV, stopping on the king for a second. She turned back to us and smiled softly.

"So," I said, changing the topic, "do you want to go to the market today? I heard they just got some fruits shipped in today! Maybe we can go get some," I said happily.

Isa smiled brightly. "The market?" she said excitedly, dropping the "royal" topic immediately. She looked to our mom, hopeful. "Can we go?" she asked my mother, bouncing on her toes.

My mom smiled softly and nodded, grabbing a chair for support. I pursed my lips. It's been a while since Mom had to do that. Grab onto something for support, I mean. It started a while back, ever since Dad died from an illness. Mom became more weak after his death. Mainly because she worked her butt off to provide for us. Food, water, shelter, etc.

Isa grabbed my arm suddenly, drawing me out of my thoughts. She held onto my arm, smiling brightly. "Come on! Mom said yes!" she sang, pulling me towards our bedroom.

"Isa!" I exclaimed. "I can walk by myself, you know!" I said, still being dragged by Isa. For a girl her size, she was strong.

Isa let me go when we got to our room. She walked in and closed the door immediately, locking it. I cocked my head in confusion.

Let me give you a short description of my sister. If you didn't know already, she's three years younger than me, meaning she's fifteen. Yeah, you read it right, fifteen. She kind of acts half her age. Admit it, she does, right? I won't be offended. Anyways, back to the story.

Isa opened the door a few minutes later, holding some clothes. She held them up, shaking them a bit. "Here! I picked out our clothes!" She threw what seemed as my outfit at me.

I caught it and sighed, going towards the bathroom to change. "Did she have to pick our nicest clothes? We're only going to the market," I said to myself softly, taking off my shirt and changing it. I took my toothbrush and brushed my teeth, obviously.

"I can hear you!" Isa said through the door.

I rolled my eyes and put my pants on, buttoning them up. I opened the door after and saw Isa already changed and giggling. I rolled my eyes again and sighed. "Let's go," I mumbled.

Isa squealed and grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the front of our house. My mom stared at us as Isa pulled me out the door.

"We'll see you later, Mom! Love ya!" I said, closing the door behind me. I stumbled but caught my balance as Isa pulled me, still. I put my shoes on hurriedly and followed Isa as she finally let me go, leaving a red mark on my arm.

"Let's go!" Isa said happily, throwing her hands in the air and running to the market. I shrugged and followed her slowly.

It took a while to get to the market. The bus ticket would probably be half of our money that we brought, so we walked. By the time we got there, my feet were already sore. I never used to go outside that much. There wasn't really a use to go outside. That explains why I am so very unathletic.

Isa went ahead, probably tired of waiting for me. I tried to follow her bright blue shirt through the crowds, but it was a little hard. She was really tiny. I sighed and rose on my tiptoes to try to catch a glimpse of her shirt. Sure enough, there she was, in front of a fruit stand. I rushed to her and grabbed her arm.

"Isa! Don't go too far away from me! You might get lost!" I said.

She turned back at me and smiled guiltily. "Sorry, Y/N," she said sheepishly.

I smiled and shook my head, ruffling her hair softly.

Time Skip because this author is too lazy to write about the market

"Look at all the fruits we bought, Y/N! This will probably last us a two weeks!" Isa exclaimed excitedly, holding up the bag of fruits.

I shrugged. "If they last that long. They'll probably just turn mushy after a week or so," I said.

Isa smirked. "Oh well. That means we get to eat a lot this week, then. This tummy will be bigger than a pregnant woman's belly after eating all this delicious babies!" Isa said, grabbing her stomach and shaking it.

I chuckled. "Hey, save some for Mom. Me too. Remember, sharing is caring!" I said, clicking my tongue.

Isa stuck her tongue out at me. "Well, what if I don't care?" she said, cocking her head.

I stuck my tongue out at her in return. "You better share. Especially share with Mom," I said, pointing a finger at her.

She held up her hands in the air in defeat. "Okay, okay. I'll share," she paused, "only with Mom."

I smirked and rushed towards her, chasing her towards our house. She squealed and began to run away, the bag of fruits swinging in the air. The house came in my sight, getting closer and closer. I still chased Isa, almost catching up to her. She squealed again and ran even faster, getting closer to our house.

She got to the door and opened it, going in. I ran towards her, but she was frozen in the doorway. She dropped the bag of fruits. Her hand looked like it was shaking. I smiled and sneaked up behind her, grabbing her waist. "Gotcha!" I exclaimed.

Isa didn't respond. She slowly turned around, tears welling up in her eyes. "Y/N," she whispered, her voice quivering.

"What is it?" I asked, my smile disappearing from my face.

A tear fell from Isa's eye, but she didn't bother to wipe it away. She stepped to the side, and all the blood drained from my face. Heck, probably from my whole body.

There, on the floor, eyes closed and body still, was our mother.

1462 words! Yay! Thank you so much if you're reading this! I will make this short since it's night time here, and I'm really tired. I'm sorry for the cliffhanger... I didn't know what else to write... Anyways, have a wonderful day!
