After the events at the end of Inkopolis Chaos 2, Samuel and friends find themselves working with the Squidbeak Splatoon. A corrupt octoling known as Lieutenant Obsidian has stepped up as the new dictator of the octarians, and is plotting the end of the inkling race, along with all the octolings who betrayed their society. A human (a.k.a you)was found by octolings floating next to the beach on shore. They try to take you in but you shortly get snatched by agent 4 (yes this is splatoon 2) and you foolishly fall in love with the agent.

Agent 8, finally freed from the octarian menace and is adjusting to the surface, with the help of Agent 3 and her friends, they'll guide our new protagonist to fit in with society. Adventure awaits!

However, a new group has emerged, The Octobusters, a group of inklings who want to make sure octolings permanently stay out of inkopolis, and back underground. Can they take down the octobusters? Being on many missions herself, fighting Octolings like him, she can't help but get the feeling that something about him isn't quite right. Agent 8 feels unsure and unwelcomed to the city as he is forced to hide his identity as not all inklings accept Octolings into their home. Not only that, but he also has a problem with getting along with Agent 3! But what happens if a mysterious, unknown threat comes toward the surface, threatening to destroy both Inkling and Octoling kind alike? Can the agents work together to save their race?
