Today's generation shrugged it off as a myth, and survivors laugh about it and change the subject. They've been in peace from the pure terror for generations... After going through the grueling missions in the Deepsea Metro, Agent 8 (Mike) finally makes it to the "Promised Land." He then finds himself facing discrimination for being an Octoling. Agent 8 finds by coincidence Agent 3 (Sarah), who provides him with a place to stay until he was able to get on his feet again. The duo slowly start to fall in love with each other, but stop themselves from doing so. After all, everyone will disapprove of their relationship.

It's been nine months since escaping the Deepsea Metro, defeating tar-tar, and saving Inkoplois things seemed to have finally calmed down for the team. Agent 8 now free is now living his new life on the surface, working, going on missions, and his favorite thing getting to spend time with 3. 3 is enjoying spending time with 8, but after going on a research mission in the Deepsea Metro she notices 8 acting strange. She found him mumbling to himself, he's having nightmares, being more claggy to 3 than normal, and swears that she caught a flash of teal in his eye. It couldn't be that bad... till 8 goes missing. The team is on the case to find him but sometime into the search Inklings sharing some of 3's similarities are getting attacked and 3's apartment gets ransacked. It's clear 8 is after 3 and if he finds her, he's not letting her go.

After facing the struggles the Deepsea Metro, Nova now found himself on the surface. More specifically, Inkopolis. With Agent 3 making the decision of taking 8 under her wing, their friendship begins. However, 8 notes the seriousness that 3 wields, yet is determined to pursue their friendship. However, it is clear to Nova that while Inkopolis as a whole was amazing in his eyes, it is clear that he's not particularly welcomed with the rest of the inklings. With a city new to the octoling, comes a new life, and with that, new struggles. That isn't to say that newfound feelings aren't included... How will Agent 8 come to deal with these new challenges? She bumps into an inkling boy in Inkopolis, and notice that the boy is Agent 3! Agent 3 was hijacked back in the Deep Sea Metro when she was trying to escape. He has helped Agent 8 regain her memory but her innocence behind the bitterness is vague.

When Octolings, a species previously thought extinct, begin causing trouble on the surface, only Splattershot Sundae and mysterious people called agents 1, 2, and 3 can stop them. Can they force them back before they ruin splatfest? Direct sequel to You're A Skwidd now.
