She leaves behind an abusive ex-boyfriend, in hopes to find a new start in this opportunity to bring her closer to the team her brother so highly talked about, and the team she saw on occasion in New York when they had a game. Meeting the young Jonathan Bryan Toews, Kaitlyn sees why her brother would pull pranks on him, and loved to make fun of him. He took too many things too seriously, making it easier to get under his skin, but that does not mean he doesn't know a good prank when it takes place. She can also see why he is called Captain Serious by the media. He took his hockey playing skills and games serious, so the other guys could too. That's just one of the many things Kaitlyn admires of Jonathan.
