The world wasn't always as kind as it is now. Things used to be much more... nightmarish. 

When people are born, they're all given a number indicating how much power they will possess in their lifetime. The numbers are on a scale of one to a hundred, one being the most powerful.

But, there hasn't been a one spotted since the Pixl Queen. Ones are seen as dangerous because of their potential and are to be killed at birth to prevent future tragedies. Not that many had been born. In fact, it's extremely rare to get any numbers below ten.

A young Blumiere lives in a dark tribe in this dark world. Labeled as a number six, he is the most powerful being born as far as everyone knows. 

But what happens when he finds himself in the presence of a One? 

A tale about friendship. About finding light and love in a world where that doesn't seem apparent. About lasting bonds and about broken bridges. Join us, as One shines a flashlight into the darkness. Follow Blumiere as he follows One in his quest to bring back the sun.

AN: For once, this is NOT a ship story. I want to be clear, it is NOT a BlumierexOne story in any way. It is purely a story about friendship and the bond between two children. This story takes place before SPM. It's an alternate Universe where things used to be a lot darker, so it's by no means canon to either game. The universe is heavily based on Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares 2, however, though some names are the same, none of those characters from that game are in this. This story is a mixture of both, taking characters from Super Paper Mario and putting them into a universe similar to Little Nightmares. Please Enjoy!

Tensions are high, and all throughout the universes, everyone is feeling the effects of Count Bleck's plans to fulfill the Dark Prognostics and destroy every Universe. No one is exempt from this. The third time's the charm, right? Bowser sure thought so. The Mushroom Kingdom fell into terror yet again as the super-sized Koopa King attacked the castle to swipe up the beloved Princess Peach. However, Pixls tend to lack many memories from their past life, leaving Dimentio ignorant to what he did to deserve being shunned. It's a not very original fanfiction, then again, no fanfiction is completely original. Also, Rafal really likes peaches for some reason...? Pretty normal fanfic if you ask me. *** This is my first fanfic/story I've ever really committed to, and it's been a core part of my improvement in writing. The magician set out to find a cure for the curse that had befallen them, and he encountered two mysterious figures in his search who asked what was wrong so that they may help. The magician shares his troubles, and the figures offer just the cure... A red Apple from The Overthere for a baby boy Or a white Apple from The Underwhere for a baby girl But whatever he does, the figures explain, he shouldn't feed his wife both. ..........she eats both. The wife gives birth to twins. The youngest is born a perfect baby girl! But the oldest...was born a horrific monster. The firstborn twin is hidden away and is seemingly forgotten...until one fateful day, when the daughter is ready to be wed. The monster eldest sibling demands that it must be wed before the younger sister, as is its right as the older of the twins. But who in the worlds could possibly be convinced to marry such a hideous-looking horrible excuse for a living creature?! - - - - - - - - - - Super Paper Mario and its characters do not belong to me! The original stories are a Norwegian fairy tale called "The Prince Lindworm" AND a Hungarian folk tale called "The Serpent Prince", and this is a PARODY of those!
