Let's be honest here we all have gone to a random location at a random point in the space time continuum and saw a person that caused us to question ourselves with the age old ponderings of "what in the hell was this person thinking when they woke up this morning". In writing The Captured I've tried going some way to explore what defines sentience. And considered the following: Would a machine entity recognize the distinction between itself and biological life - if it could replicate thought and action? And if it could recreate the exact function of a living being what difference does it make whether as flesh or machine? The story is about me and my journey through life. It always seemed to me somewhat self-indulgent and egotistical for somebody to spend time writing about their life and then expect other people to read it. I am not a writer, something I think all my English teachers at school would have concurred with-I was a mathematician-but I felt obliged to write my life story after my inner world conspired to write a response to the problem of Being. My Philosophy of Being is original; it flowed from my life journey over ten years like a stream from its source. I knew that if I were to reference my primary source, I would have to write it first. Reluctantly, I set about writing my life story, but as I wrote it, I realised there were other reasons why I needed to complete it, which should become clear as you read it.

I am not a guy who likes to talk about his self, but the purpose of this biography is not to present my self to other people. There is a good possibility I am going to die around the age of 50 and therefor incarnate once more on the surface on Earth (living up to the age of ≈35). Thus, I am writing this primarily for my self in that person, so that person can recognize its self in this person and learn more about the past of its self. However, at least some information here might be of some value to others too.

Jack, a scientist, who wanted to prove that 'time traveling' is real, created a machine that can do just that. When he tried to use it, instead of traveling time, he traveled through space and he ended up in a familiar but different land. Due to scientific logic and space travel, as parallel universes work, he finds himself stuck in this land while his alleged double, makes his life miserable in his real home. Will he ever find a way back to his own home, back to his own dimension? And will he ever adjust to the extremes of people in his new world? This story was inspired by The Martian by Andy Weir, the Parallel Universe Theory, and Astronomy logic. This is also my first time to write a first-person book. Some things told in the story are fiction and are used to make the story more understandable.
