Dan Howell has crippling anxiety, and as a way to cope is to suck on lollipops. And it's always pink or light blue lollipops. Dan's a very shy pastel kid, who's always has a flower crown atop his curly brown hair. Phil Lester has always watched Dan from afar, to scared he would frighten the small boy. He has many tattoos and piercings, even his hair is dyed blue. One day he walks up to the roof of the high school, and sees Dan standing on the ledge about to jump. They both don't fit into their highly religious town, and it drives them crazy. You met Dan in College and became close friends, even dropped out at the same time as him because of overwhelming stress, and your Depression and Anxiety. Your parents won't take you back in because they're abusive and always have been, so you have no where to go. That is until Dan saves you and takes you in. At his place you met Phil and instantly there's something about him that makes you fall in love. Phil and you bond immediately and he promises to help you through your depression and other problems, no matter how hard it may be.

Dan is secretly suffering from depression. On the outside he seems bubbly and happy, but on the inside he wishes for it to all be over. When his friend, Phil, unexpectedly invites him to stay at his apartment, Dan struggles to keep up the glass that was protecting him. Will Phil help clean up the pieces? so basically if you've stumbled across this story i must warn you of suicide, self-harm, abuse, alcohol, language, and sex ;) so Phil gets assigned a new project for his astronomy class and instantly likes dan. Although his constant insecurities and troubled memories always cause him to believe that dan could never love him. ~~ CHAPTER ONE IS PRETTY HAPPY AND CAN BE READ AS A ONESHOT ~~ Dan Howell lived in New York City when he was twelve. And at twelve years old, a giant cat he called Suki lived with him. But he wasn't sure if Suki was real because of two things. One, she was about six feet tall. And two, nobody but Dan could see her. Fast forward to the age of sixteen. Dan still thinks that maybe he's slightly crazy. He's also slightly annoyed, because Suki has escaped the house and is roaming wild through the streets of New York. He breaks out of his family's apartment to go searching for her, and meets a boy called Phil Lester; who can not only see Dan's cat, but has a cat of his own. They move in together as adults, and live a harmonious life. Dan thinks everything is perfect, but he doesn't know that Phil's mental health has taken a turn for the worse. Phil has begun cutting himself, the only release from the mental illness going on inside his head. -~-~-~-~-~- TRIGGER WARNING: talk of self-harm and actual self-harm from second chapter on.
