"What's wrong with some light stabbing?"
Delving into vigilante-ism, Charlie Redmond has balance everything from her superhero neighbor to her math tests to her inability to talk about her feelings. Unlike her morally righteous co-worker, Spider-Man...

I may or may not have short-circuited the monitor in the main hallway of Midtown High. In my defense it was after swearing to punch Betty Bryant in the face if she said "Spider Spirit" one more time, so really it was lesser of two evils.
An oncoming migraine made it impossible to focus on anything and the constant rotation of people asking about DC had me halfway through plotting the death of all my peers.
It was at these moments that Flash impressed me for managing to speak to such a quantity of people before resorting to violence, no wonder he's such a prick.
Thankfully, at least someone else was immune to the Spider Fever.
Alex swatted the silly string spider webs from his locker with a scrunched nose. "They can organize mass vandalism, but can't put away books in their proper location."
"Books don't fight with the Avengers in a catsuit." I lean against the locker next to him and pull a pastel pink string out of his hair. "And, I don't think silly string counts as vandalism."
Before Alex could retort, Michelle popped up next to us, equally disdainful at the commotion. Alex nearly dropped his books. "Hey, MJ."
"Hey, I just wanted to ask if we had a quiz next time in Physics." She smiled a little and so did he.
After a long stretch of silent staring, I elbowed Alex in the ribs causing him to perk up. "No, Ms. Warren us to review Chapter 14-16 since the class average was low."
"Oh, okay, thanks." She nodded, returning to the calm zero fucks Michelle. Then she quirked a lip and waved at me. "Hey, Charlie."
I tried to hold back a smugness to my grin as I wiggled my fingers at her. "Hey, Michelle."
"Well, I've got to go, my dad's picking you up." She pointed with her thumb down the hall, eyes on Alex. Alex nodded his demeanor back to normal.
Once she left, he went back to his locker and I rose a brow. "MJ?"
"Nope, not doing that." He said, closing his locker and trekking down the hall. I met his steps with interest. "We are just friends, you are familiar with the concept, right?"
I pretended to think. "No, no, everyone I know is a massive dick."
"Well that explains it," He smiled with squinted eyes and messed up my hair. I turned my head to the side to look at Jackie—
The air was empty, but I could feel the warm wet iron on my hands. Cold curled around my throat and chest.
"Hello? Earth to Charlie." Alex waved his hand in front of my face.
My head pulled back to the hall, but my skin still felt like ice. "What? Oh, sorry, I spaced out for a sec."
He inspected my face. Smile. I felt my lips lag to the action. Then he gave a flat pressed grin and looked away. "Yeah."
