Chapter 19. Back to reality.

Alexei put his hands in his pockets, then asked me, "So when you said that Andrew Waltz took everything away from you. Did you mean your hard-earned money too?" I walked towards the window, then answered Alexei with, "Yes, we had a joint account. He stole every penny I had. What Andrew didn't know was that I was still operating my online business. I put the money that I earned by creating ads and websites in my private account. Andrew and Zavier think that I'm broke, but I have enough money to start another company." Alexei put a blanket on my shoulder when he saw me shiver. He placed a kiss on my head, then asked me, "How much money did he steal from you, Zachariel." I put my head down, then replied to Alexei with, "About a hundred million dollars. It was the money that I had accumulated by winning awards and working hard every night and day. I had reserved the money for the construction of a new building. I wanted to house all the divisions of my company under one roof."

I turned around to face Alexei when I heard him say, "I will destroy that filth. He will rue the day he was born." I grabbed Alexei's hand then said to him, "As I told you before. I'm already in the process of getting my revenge, Alexei. I know that my plan will take a little longer to succeed, but it's highly effective. I want Andrew to think that he can survive without me. He will get the shock of his life when things start getting awry. I didn't want to ask you for help, but I have realized tonight that I can't do this without you. You are the smartest and richest business tycoon I know. Andrew will be eager to work for you. It will speed up the process if you hire him to do projects for you."

I frowned when I saw Alexei smirk. I turned around to look out of the window again. Alexei hugged me from behind, then said, "I'm glad that you asked me for help, Zachariel. I'll see how I can attract him to work for me. You went through a lot of emotions today. Put some clothes on and go to bed. I'll see you in the morning." Alexei placed a kiss on my shoulder, then walked out of my room. I was emotionally strained and didn't feel like moving. I wore my pajamas with difficulty. I, fortunately, fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I woke up at seven AM and took a shower. I got dressed, then went downstairs to have breakfast so I could take my medicines.

Charlotte walked into the kitchen while I was making scrambled eggs. She smiled, then asked me, "Did you sleep well, Zach?" I nodded, then replied to Charlotte with, "Yes, I did, Charlotte. Thank you for preparing everything for me." Charlotte chuckled while taking a seat at the kitchen table. I dished out food for both of us, then went to join her. Charlotte looked in surprise at me when I placed a plate full of food in front of her. She instantly uttered, "You didn't have to make breakfast for me, Zach. I came here to welcome the chefs and their staff. They will be here any minute now."

I sat next to Charlotte, then said, "Enjoy your food while you wait, Charlotte." Charlotte shook her head while grabbing a fork. Charlotte and I ate in silence until the chefs and their staff arrived. Charlotte took a sip out of her drink after greeting everyone, then asked me, "When are you planning to leave with Ocean, the kids, and Mr. Marquis, Zach?" I looked at my watch, then answered Charlotte with, "At nine o'clock, Charlotte. The weather will be great by the time we arrive at the park. We'll be back in the afternoon." Charlotte nodded, then said, "I'll ask the chefs to get breakfast ready for everyone. Lunch will be available by the time you guys return. I'll also order one of the maids to put some beverages and snacks in a backpack. It will be easier for you to carry them that way."

I smiled at Charlotte, then uttered, "Thank you, Charlotte." Charlotte nodded while getting up with her empty glass and plate. I also put everything away, then took my medicine. I then went to check on the kids. I was surprised when I saw that Genevieve was already awake. Ocean was in the children's room. She was preparing clothes for the kids. Genevieve squealed when she saw me. I quickly picked her up, then said to her, "Let your brothers sleep for a little longer, Genevieve." Genevieve nodded while hugging me. I was just about the bathe Genevieve when the boys woke up. They followed Ocean, Genevieve, and me into the bathroom. Jacques looked in astonishment at Ocean when she made him wear hiking boots. "Are we going somewhere, Ocean?" Jacques asked the girl while looking at his shiny new boots. Ocean smiled at the little boy, then replied to him with, "Yes, Jacques. Your uncle Zachariel is taking us all hiking today."
