Zach's P.O.V.
I noticed an important thing while going through the files of my latest project. The people who handled the case earlier didn't get a chance to interview the creator of the wine. It seemed like the section chief carried out the interviews each time they visited the company. I needed to find out who this anonymous creator was. It took me the whole day to compare all the statistics. I even forgot to eat during lunchtime. I got busy with the case and didn't even notice that I was getting observed. I frowned when I suddenly heard Briac say, "No one ordered you to find a solution today, Zach. Take it easy, champ. After all, tomorrow is another day."
"Shit, I'm doing the same thing again," I thought to myself when I saw how late it already was. I got curious about the previous sale pitches and spent most of my time doing research. I tended to lose myself when I got interested in something. I needed to break this old habit of mine. I would otherwise land in the hospital soon. Briac got worried when he saw me wince. He put his hand on my shoulder, then uttered, "I didn't mean to sound rude, Zach. I got worried about you when I saw that you hadn't even had a cup of water since you came in." I smiled at Briac, then replied to him with, "It's okay, Briac, you weren't rude. I tend to lose myself in work. It's a bad habit of mine. Thank you so much for your concern."
Briac chuckled, then said, "You're welcome, Zach," before walking away with his bag. I sighed, then rubbed my face to calm myself down. It was already time for me to clock out, and I wasn't even tired yet. I tidied up my desk, then turned off my computer and desk lamp. The second floor was already empty. I was the last person to leave. I could see that people on the other levels were still busy with work. I had to wait for a long time to catch the lift. My eyes fell on Emma as soon as I stepped out of the elevator. Emma grinned at me, then asked me, "Did you have a great day, Zach?" I nodded at Emma, then responded to her with, "Yes, Emma. I hope that you had an amazing day too."
Emma motioned me to come closer, then whispered into my ear, "I had a crappy day, but the pay is high in this company. The conditions are also great, so I'm not complaining." I burst out laughing when I saw Emma wink at me. I waved Emma goodbye then left the building. I wanted to calm my mind, so I took my time walking back to my car. I went straight home and ate macaroni and cheese for dinner. I decided to take a shower after reading some articles. I got a text from my psychiatrist the moment I walked out of my bathroom. I had asked him to shift my appointments from Monday to Friday as I had started working.
I was glad to see that Axel had agreed. I turned off my phone after replying to him. I took my laptop out of my bag after getting dressed. I needed to check if I had received any requests on my website. I chuckled when I saw an order from none other than Katherine Silvio. "This must be fate," I thought to myself. Katherine was asking me to create a website for her new baby clothing line. She had stated that she had heard about me from one of her close friends. It seemed like her friend had told her that people who hired me had a hundred percent success rate.
