Chapter Two

"You mother left a note for you on her will, for when you will turn 21, note that apparently was lost when she died 8 months ago, your stepfather didn't want to know what was in the will so he never contacted the lawyers, anyway, now that he is gone, I will give you your mother's will and the letter and we can talk about it in a bit, I do not want to rush you into this so take as much time as you need." She said a smiling and handing me a file, I smiled back and she headed towards the door.

I opened the file to find a letter with my name on it in mom's writing, I feel tears come up, and I try to blink them away real fast without success. I opened the letter and it said.

My dearest Mia,

If you read this letter, it means that I unfortunately have passed away, my Mia how I wished I could be there for you today.
Turning 21 in our family isn't something usual, but I'm sure you'll find that on your own.
I'm sorry for the years I made you endure having Roy by my side, he wasn't the perfect man but he was what I needed for you to become who you are today.
Mia, you are an exceptional woman, you will do great things and I'm sure you'll be a fantastic big sister to Aly, I already know how much you love each other.
Mia never be sad when you think of me, I'm always inside your heart, I'm a part of you as much as you're a part of me, so this is why I'm giving you my bracelet.
This bracelet isn't like any other bracelet but you'll figure that out too.
Never doubt the love I have for you and the love I'll always have.
Please always look after Aly and leave as fast as you can the toxic house you are in, discover the world, do anything that makes you happy, you have the power to create your happiness.
I'll always be there when you need me.

I was looking at the letter and my tears were running down like crazy, it was too much. Why did she have to die, why couldn't she be here today, I needed her so much, so much more than I ever thought. As I was trying to dry my tears, I turned the letter upside down and out slid a beautiful bracelet, one I always saw my mom wearing, as soon as I put it, it fitted perfectly and small sparkles came out of it, I didn't have time to properly watch de bracelet as the door opened and in came Aly in a nurses arms.

As soon as she saw me she smiled, which warmed my heart so much the nurse sat her on my lap on the bed and smiled at us, leaving us two alone.

"Look Aly, it's mommy's bracelet." I said showing it to her as I see her big beautiful green eyes look at me with curiosity.

I let her play with the bracelet that was still on my wrist because weirdly I couldn't take it off anymore and I was ready to read my moms will.

After a while Miss Banner entered again.
"Did you get to read everything?" She asked and I just nodded my head, strangely she looks familiar but I shake the feeling away.

"Just a question in her will my mom says that she left us some money, was the money given to Roy or is the money still available to us?" I asked, I'm not greedy, I'm just homeless now and jobless so I do need to provide for my sister and I.

"Yes the money is in a trust found on your name, so it's available for you, would you like to know how much is in it?" She asked as she was searching for a piece of paper.

"Euhm yes sure so I know what I have to do and I can organize myself." I said looking at Aly who was now playing with a piece of paper from Miss Banner.

"Ah! Found it." She said taking a piece of paper out of her briefcase.
"So your mother left you 3 millions dollars on your trust fund and there is another 3 millions dollars on Aly's but she will only be able to access it when she'll turn 21." My jaw dropped.

"That's not possible. We aren't rich, my mom was a waitress at the local diner and Roy, well he was Roy, I never knew my dad I just know he was a soldier and died in battle when I was little so a total of 6 millions of dollars must be a mistake." I tell her, I'm lost this is not possible it can't happen it's not real, is it? Did my mom rob a bank or something?

"Well it's all here, I will go talk to your doctor in order to know when you can leave." But before she was able to go out I spoke which made her stop in her tracks.

"What about Aly? Can I take full custody of her and be her legal tutor or whatever it is I have to be and do to keep her with me?" I asked quickly looking at Aly at the same time.

"Of course since you are of age and Aly's only family as passed away besides you, you are the new guardian of your sister, I will bring the papers to you as soon as I am done with your doctor." She said excusing herself and going out of the room.

All of this is too much, it can't be real, it can't be true! But what if it is, what if I never really knew who mom was?? How did she get that much money? All of those thoughts were running through my head but at least if it's all true I don't have to worry about a thing anymore.

Miss Banner's POV

I walked out of the room, and brushed my hand into my hair stressfully.
I walked to where Hill was.

"So any chance she knows anything?" She asked,
"She's as clueless as her baby sister, it's going to be hard." I tell her in a whisper
"Well we need her." I hear a voice on my earpiece, I roll my eyes and straighten myself up before entering the room again.
