A Part Of It (Avengers)

I had everyone fooled, included myself. It was only once I was in Kamartaj that I had realised that the tree of Yggdrasil had already informed me of everything that was to happen, only I hadn't understood it at the time.

Stephen had explained to me everything again, but in more details and now it all made sense. I had kept everything to me and when I had tried to talk to Stephen he refused to hear what I had to say and what the tree had revealed to me, saying that telling him could have some grave repercussions.

"Look Mia, Thanos, he has studied each and everyone of the avengers, he knows all their weaknesses. He will manage to get all six of the infinity stones, one way or another." he said and I only nodded, I knew all that, I knew he would have the gems, but I knew who was going to die and he doesn't.

"Which means that you will also have to give up your stone." I tell him, matter of factly, he nodded slowly.

"I don't know under what circumstances I would ever give up my stone, but I guess I will give it up at some point." he said, brushing his hands in his hair, looking disheveled. I pondered his words, I had had more dreams than the one on Asgard, when Bucky stayed with me that night. 

And every time I could see more and more  people dying, Nath being the first one I had seen, her emotionless face and her rigid body, it haunted me every night.

"There's something else you should know, Mia." he said, he looked me in the eyes, with an emotion that sent shivers down my spine and not in a good way.

"Thanos, once he comes, you will have to hide, you won't be able to help them. You will have to let that happen in order to get to all the stones before he does worst things to the world." Stephen said, my breath getting caught in my throat. 

"Why? Why can't I just stop him?" I asked him and he just shook his head.

"It's not how all this works, we will need him to be distracted long enough for you to do your work. As soon as he appears you will have to travel through galaxies and places to get to those stones. There's one stone in particular that is tricky, the Soul stone, a sacrifice has to be done to retrieve it." He said and I cut him off right away.

"No, you cannot ask me to sacrifice someone Strange, it's already too much. If in all the realities there are so many casualties, what makes you think, that because of little old me everything will go well? I will not be able to sacrifice anybody for a stone." I said, as I got up from my chair and threw a vase that was nearby, to a wall, breaking it into thousands of pieces. 

I felt bad and with one flick of the hand the vase was whole again and I out it back where I had taken it from.

"See, that is why you can save us all. There are a lot of people with special abilities but none like yours. You won't have to sacrifice anybody, you will have to travel through time to go back to when Thanos got all the stones and get them before him. You get them, you come back and have everyone come back as well, you destroy Thanos, and everything goes back to normal." 

"Have everyone come back? I saw things, I saw people disappearing, is that what you are referring to?" I asked him and he nodded, he was intrigued that I had had visions about it, and to be honest I didn't even know why I had them, but if they could help me in any way I would try to use them to our advantage.

"Yes, and from what me from another timeline said, well I am disappearing too. So you will be on your own for this one. Just remember that your actions can save everyone, the people who died, the people who will disappear, only you can have them come back." he said, looking at me intently to see if I was paying enough attention to what he was saying.
