I grab my phone from the table, putting it in my pocket before turning back to the door, where I see Jisoo standing in a pair of boxers and her top. I walk towards her, watching as she moves to the side to let me past her.

"Wait, I forgot to give you this the other day," Jisoo says as I reach for the back door. I turn back to see her grab something from the coat rail. When she turns back I realise it is the hoodie I gave back to her last week. She comes back to me and holds it out for me to take.

I look at it for a second before moving my eyes back up to hers. She isn't looking at me, but at the hoodie. I can see that she looks nervous, whether she thinks I wasn't going to take it or not, I don't know.

"Thanks," I reply, not knowing what to say as I take the hoodie from her outstretched hand.

"Yeah, well it looked better on you anyway." She says, the nervousness leaving her face.

"Too bad I can't actually wear it," I say, laughing slightly, only realising what I said when it was too late. We both stand in silence for a second, taking in what I said.

I was right that this hoodie would literally sit in the drawer of my desk, where it had been before. I couldn't wear it out and I couldn't wear it at home.

"This is really messed up, isn't it?" She whispers a second later, breaking the silence. I look up at her, giving her a sad smile.

"Yeah. To be fair, everything between us has been messing up our whole lives." I tell her, looking back down at the hoodie.

"Jennie, I –" She cuts herself off, her eyes looking everywhere but mine. I wait for her to continue, watching as her shoulders sag slightly, tension lacing them.

"I'll see you tomorrow," I tell her when I realise she isn't going to continue, stepping towards her and reaching up so I can kiss her on the cheek.

"Yeah." She replies, holding the door open as I walk into the darkness of the garden, heading towards the door in the gate, which would lead me back to my house.

As soon as I walk through the door I hear the contrast of Jisoo's house. While her house was quiet, mine was filled with noise, from hearing the TV in the living room to the sound of dishes being washed in the kitchen, to the sound of constant chatter.

"Jennie?" Dad calls from the living room. I walk towards the door, holding the hoodie behind me so they couldn't see and lean against the doorframe. I see dad, mum, Yeri and Mino sitting watching some action movie.

"Hey," I say, getting all heads to turn towards me.

"Hey. How was your sleepover with Rosé?" Mum asks, smiling up at me. I feel my stomach drop in guilt as I put a smile on my face and reply with a simple, "good."

"Where is Irene?" I ask, noticing her not in the room.

"Doing the dishes," Dad replies as all heads turn back to the movie. I make my way into the kitchen to see Irene standing over the sink. I throw the hoodie in my bag, which is sitting beside the table.

I don't say anything, just walk up beside her, grab the drying towel and help her finish. Neither of us say anything for a minute. The only noise in the room is the water against the dishes.

"So?" She asks, breaking the silence.

"What?" I ask, not looking at her.

"How did it go?" She persists, pausing with the dishes. I set down the plate I had been drying before placing the towel on the counter, pulling on a loose thread.

"It was good," I say, taking a deep breath.

"Jennie?" She asks, hearing the hesitation in my voice. I take another deep breath before lift my eyes to hers. I see questions written all over her face.

"I like her," I tell her quietly, feeling my shoulders sag as I say it.

"I know." She says like it's obvious. I see on her face that she doesn't get what I am implying.

"No. I mean..." I pause, not wanting to admit it because I knew the moment I admit it, it becomes real. "I think I love her," I whisper so softly I'm not sure she heard me. Yet, one look at her face makes it clear she heard me loud and clear.

"You... love her?" She asks, clarifying.

"Irene, what do I do?" I ask, desperation in my voice. She watches me for a second before answering.

"I don't know, Jennie. I honestly don't know." She replies, looking as lost as I feel. We both turn back to the dishes and continue washing and drying them, neither of us talking, both stuck in our own thoughts.
