The next morning I leave for school early, having made plans to talk to Rosé before school. I had told Mino I was going early, asking for him to drive the rest of them at the normal time.
"Hey," Rosé says, walking up to my car. We are here overly early so the car park is about half full. I smile, indicating with my head for her to get into the car.
Once in she turns to me with her eyebrows raised.
"What is it?" She asks, closing the door.
"Please don't get angry with me. I'm going to tell you the whole story and please let me get to the end before you say anything." I tell her, knowing that if she interrupts we would get sidetracked. She nods at me, her eyebrows raising with interest.
"Well, you know the way I kissed that girl at the dance a few weeks ago and I told you nothing ever came of it?" I ask, cringing. "Well..." That's when I tell her the story, every last detail. I watch her face the whole way through the story, seeing surprise and realisation show itself on her face.
"You mean Mino's friends, the one you said I couldn't mention, was Jisoo this whole time?" She asks when I finish.
"Yeah, it was her," I say, hesitantly, noting that she didn't sound angry at all.
"And when Lisa and Jisoo were talking about the girl's hair tie in her car..."
"Was me."
"Why didn't you tell me before? I wouldn't have mentioned it to anyone." She asks, looking slightly hurt.
"Because it was only supposed to be for a week or two and then it was going to be over, we were going to go back to the way we were... we weren't supposed to end up liking each other," I tell her. "Once we admitted that we liked each other, I knew I had to tell you. I felt so bad keeping this from you this whole time."
"So yesterday in study, that's why you didn't put up much of a fight about sitting there... because you actually wanted to." She asks, looking out at the car park in thought.
"I didn't want to sit there. I knew everyone would be questioning why I was sitting there. Yes, I did want to be near Jisoo and I like being near her, but I know we can't be together in public."
"You like her." She says, looking over at me. I nod at her, looking down at my lap when I feel a blush coming over my cheeks.
"You really like her." She says after a minute of watching me.
"Yeah, I do. I know this is the last thing that either of us expected." I tell her, looking back up.
We sit in silence for a few minutes, her lost in her own thoughts, while I watch her, wondering what she was thinking.
"She really got jealous of your cousin and Song?" She asks after a minute, a smile on her face, letting me know that she wasn't cross. At that moment, I smile and we spend the next fifteen minutes talking about Jisoo and Lisa, both acting like the pair of teenage girls we were.
It was after fifteen minutes I look up and see Mino, Irene and Yeri all walking into the school building, not noticing me. I look at the time and realise that we should be going in.
We both get out and follow everyone else to the building.
"I can't believe I didn't notice. I mean you started with that Mino's friend stuff like a week after the dance. I should have seen straight through that!" She comments as we walk into the building.
"To be fair, she didn't think you believed me," I say, both of us laughing. Just like that, we were back to the way we were before.
It was at the end of the day, while I was walking with Irene towards the car that I see Jisoo standing talking to Soojin. I take a deep breath trying to suppress the jealous feeling that was building inside of me.
